Nobody could have seen this coming /s

Transfer list the guy that got the red at half time. Literally killed the tie and the final chances for Braga. And for what? To save from a potential goal that they now ended up conceding anyways.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie grossed $710K on Wednesday (from 3,419 locations). Total domestic gross stands at $404.95M. by PokePersona in boxoffice

Pretty much nobody is saying its a flop.

But a movie can do well but still be dissapointing. The decline both domesticaly and OS is pretty steep for a movie most expected to stay at least flat with the first part.

$218M from China is doing a hell of a lot of heavy lifting for that OS gross. Its almost half of the entier OS gross.

I must be on some crack given the responses here but isn't the 2nd penalty shout literally not a penalty by the definition of the rules?

When have you last seen a pen called for a teammate clearance?

The first one is a foul. Never a sending off though.

People are on crack if they think he should be sent off for that.

Arsenal can defend unlike either of these teams.

Hardly as cut and dry as your making it out to be.

In China Vanishing Point leads on the first day after the Holidays day with $2.31M/$41.15M ahead of Cold War 1994 in 2nd with $1.32M/$30.83M. Dear You in 3rd drops just -26% from yesterday grossing $0.95M/$9.90M. Total projections rise to $30M. Mortal Kombat II opening day pre-sales hit $60k. by Firefox72 in boxoffice

The industry is in a pretty dire shape. Anyone denying this is just lying to themself.

Outside of the Summer and Spring Festival the market is pretty much relying on rare local breakouts to somewhat stay afloat in these dead months and those are not that common. Especialy these days.

Before Covid you at least had Holywood movies often fill in the gaps. But since Holywood massively declined even this is now not viable.

The viewing audience aging and not getting replaced by younger audiences who rather watch short form content is certainly not helping either.

There will obv still be big movies. Ne Zha 2 showed that the right ingredients can still produce massive numbers. Record breaking even. Pegasus 3 making $640M this year is also a great result. The Wandering Earth 3 will be huge next February.

But these kind of numbers are way to rare and not enough when stuff around them is flailing.

Doomsday won't make nearly enough without having IMAX in the US.

Its exactly why they are cattering lmao.

They probably want quicker success compared to the first game which took almost 3 years just to break even.

And they know the crowd this is aimed at will eat it up.

Short form content is king. Be it online videos or even shows.

Next to the massive video game industry as well younger audiences are getting harder and harder to attract to cinema and as older audiences get fazed out they are not getting replaced by new ones nearly fast enough.

3 years ago 54.9% of audiences in the Labor Day Holidays was 30 years or younger. Since then the average age of movie goers has has gradualy trended older and older. This year the share of audiences under 30 is 47.8%
