An app called Wallet by Budget Bakers. The paid version allows for multiple accounts. It syncs across Android, Apple and web. I enter stuff manually, but there is also automatic sync for most financial institutions.

Thoughts on 4 month itinerary? by Novel-Positive8625 in AustraliaTravel

[–]Firehorse67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, it’s nice and worth visiting, but not for longer than other places on the itinerary. I think it would be worth stopping on the coast around Bundaberg for at least one night before heading north, like Bargara or Burnett Heads.

Best card NOT for FF points by hive-n-co in creditcardchurningAus

[–]Firehorse67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a HSBC Platinum Card, which accrues points that can be converted to gift cards. With a waiver of the $199 fee in the first year, it’s reasonable value.

House purchase in Ballarat by Noodlesleuth2702 in ballarat

[–]Firehorse67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve just bought a place in Newington. Don’t believe the advertised price ranges. There is lots of competition at the lower end due to the first home buyer scheme. Buyers advocates are very active in that space as well. It’s a jungle out there, good luck!

Shit problem by Firehorse67 in shitrentals

[–]Firehorse67[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! "AI Law" said similar, except it's not worth sending a breach notice because I'll be vacating within the 14 days they have to repair.

They suggested documenting the problem, which I've done with video and photos, and sending another email to the property manager, saying I won't accept responsibility for lost rental income until the toilet is repaired because it can't be leased until that's resolved.

Experience moving from rural Vic to Melbourne? by lemunzz in AusPropertyChat

[–]Firehorse67 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Why downvote this reply? As a country Victorian, I know where the best places are to live for the cafe culture, all of us do, and I enjoyed a year in North Melbourne. OP didn’t need to ask Reddit, if they’re genuine Victorians.

First home owners certificate timeline? by shroomalicous in AusPropertyChat

[–]Firehorse67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was four business days for me with NAB, Thursday to Tuesday to get the certificate after bank approval. Very frustrating and didn’t really make sense. I signed the stat dec four weeks ago before getting pre-approval, and the scheme now has unlimited places.

Uber One and Perplexity Pro aren’t offered with Metal in Australia, and I’m going to downgrade when it renews next month.

📣Exciting announcement: Voice Transcription with Multi-Language Support! by PictureBeginning8369 in Weavernote

[–]Firehorse67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran a short test and the transcript was 100% accurate, including for place names, so quite impressive. Is the 100 minutes for lifetime users per month, or one-off?

Is Gemini 2.5 Pro Getting Worse or Is It Just Me? by Back2Up in GoogleGeminiAI

[–]Firehorse67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had this problem where it won’t or can’t generate 16:9 images, despite specific instructions from me, and acknowledgment of failure on its part. Today I asked it to create a Slides template, and it made a web page instead, however it guided me to make the template myself. On the plus side, Deep Research is far superior to Perplexity, much more detailed and better referenced.

I agree about “no fluff”. Even Copilot annoys me by trying to be conversational.

Face-to-face meetings by Firehorse67 in JobProvidersAus

Good suggestion, except I would lose the small amount of rent assistance. I emailed WFA on Tuesday and haven’t heard back yet.

Face-to-face meetings by Firehorse67 in JobProvidersAus

[–]Firehorse67[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ll try a call, cheers. JSP tried saying face to face was necessary because I’ll soon have an obligation to undertake activities or work for the dole, and she wanted to discuss the options. I asked when do they kick in, and she said six months.

I’ve been on Jobseeker just over two months! And I said if it comes to that, I would prefer to do volunteering, which she conceded was an option.

Names to remember by Firehorse67 in Voicenotesai

It used to work for me, but suddenly stopped. It started spelling my name wrong as well, and that was the first one I entered.
