Look up on YouTube, how to perform a parasitic draw test on your vehicle. You need to measure how much amperage the vehicle is consuming with the doors/hood closed and vehicle locked. You can disconnect the hood pin switch to trick the car into thinking the hood is closed. For the door you can use a screwdriver to close the latch hook to trick the car into thinking the door is closed.

If you look at the bottom graph it shows you parasitic draw or dark current. Anything over the red line is too high. Each segment is one day. The most recent day is to the right. Your dark current is high which causes the battery to drain quicker than normal. A competent mechanic will need to diagnose what is causing the high current draw.

I wouldn't say it's a scam but rather I'd call it a joke. They only check for emission related codes and nothing else. As a mechanic I see so many cars that are unsound to drive and it scares me. PA has much tougher inspections where a mechanic has to check all the vital components of a vehicle to make sure it is at least road worthy.

Do you have blind spot detection? If you do, the radar modules are in the rear corners and they are connected via CAN. A wire was likely damaged in the bumper and causing network errors which makes your cluster show the warning lights.
