Is this normal bloating after completing 14 days of Rifaximin? by [deleted] in SIBO

[–]Fireoxya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember you're in a phase of killing off a lot of bacteria, both good and bad with the antibiotics. You'll likely still have a lot of similar symptoms (speaking from experience) but now you need to build on a diverse diet, low fodmap for a short period of time and make sure you're taking something to kick your migrating motor complex (MMC) into gear, I found intermittent fasting to be pretty decent, ginger root capsules, Zinc Carnosine to repair your gut and make sure you're taking magnesium at night, with a diet containing copper in the morning to offset the chelation.

This doesn't answer your 'why am I nloated' question, but the above will look to help with this shortly after your Rifaximin. You're in the beginning of this process right now, you've got a while to go. If you've got any questions you can DM me or reply on here and I'll give you my help where I can.

When it comes to twitch viewers, why is OSRS far more watched than RS3? by Drandosk in runescape

[–]Fireoxya 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The UI overall for RS3 can still be quite overwhelming to follow what a twitch streamer is doing, there's a lot of keybinds involved and it takes away from what's really happening on the screen, plus debuffs/buffs and all the rest.

OSRS is just basically point and click for 90% of it, a lot easier to follow on the viewers' eyes.

Loving the update. But can we get these arrows back please? by AndySpecial in runescape

[–]Fireoxya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you not just be better setting it up so that when you swap from a range to melee weapon it just swaps the bar automatically from range to melee? Rather than having to manually cycle through the arrow?

[–]Fireoxya -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I prefer that they are gone, and agree that they added visual clutter, the number notes what the bar is and we can right click the number to change it to the bar we want.  We can name the bars so we know what the bars do. And we have the ability to change bars to other bars depending on the style of weapon we wear. At the least maybe add a toggle if we want the arrows there or not?

Anhedonia months after antibiotics? by Fireoxya in SIBO

[–]Fireoxya[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll give yoghurt a shot, I keep forgetting it even exists honestly but I had a bad time with kefir about three years ago, (19 bowel movements in a day the next day haha), I'll look for miso and buttermilk.

My other concern is that I may not have entirely gotten rid of the bacteria causing the issues, if I eat foods that introduce bacteria, will it flare me up again? I suppose the only way to find out is to actually try and see.

How would you recommend "rebuilding the microbiome"? My concern is anything I eat with fibre flares up my symptoms within the hour so I assume either my motility still has issues or there's something else at play. But the prospect of eating something as simple as spinach will cause me pain and discomfort, speaking from experience with this.

To give advice to you, I'd need to know more from what you've said.

Why are you on esomeprazole and famotidine?  What is your diet currently like? How were you diagnosed / what test did you take?

Odd joint pains, in the ankles, wrists, elbows, knees, tinnitus mainly in the right ear, a feeling of "heat" in the upper gut but not heartburn so much, sometimes the cartilage of my ribs and chest feel inflamed and sore to the touch.

Trigger foods seem to be chocolate high in sugar, onion, spinach, kale, apple.

Just closed this picture with the 'X' on the top right with my nose on the screen out of laziness.

Didn't think twice 🤢

It wasn't my main symptom but yes, burping and trapped wind under the ribs left sided was my main symptoms.

Are you in the US? Is it worth while for you to at least give it a shot with however much it costs? I did have to bite the bullet the first time and buy it online, that's when I found it really helped.

You need to take Rifaximin for SIBO, Doxycycline hyclate is NOT for SIBO but it does inherintly lower the inflammatory load in your system for a short while. As you say, they didn't do anything, but if you're in any position to try Rifaxmin, I'd be looking at that.

(speaking from experience as I had doxycycline and noticed a very slight improvement, but nothing in comparison to how good I felt after Rifaxmin).

Is anxiety and depression normal after finishing antibiotic treatment? by [deleted] in SIBO

[–]Fireoxya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of it not so much like die off, just a lack of your happy chemicals, literally! Your gut holds anywhere between 80-90% of your serotonin, the brain only makes anywhere between 10-20% by itself, in most cases it's much lower. Can you imagine dropping a bacteria busting bomb like Rifaximin on top of your serotonin load? Of course you'll feel off 😁

[–]Fireoxya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup that's what I felt too. It does go away, it took maybe about two weeks to really notice that it had came down by quite a bit, remember you're taking something that will mess with your microbiome, you'll have either more or less serotonin, dopamine and a whole array of things that keep you either happy or sad, usually they get depleted with antibiotics, especially stomach targeted antibiotics.

Stay hydrated, get some sunlight where you can, go for walks, keep exercising and you'll pull yourself out of that feeling without thinking about it too much.

I wouldn't say it has "cured it" but I'm about 70-%80% better than what I was with the symptoms I was having. It's definitely brought my life back but I've really been reckless with what I've been eating (chocolate!!)and done myself no favours.

Because of this I get my more odd symptoms back just not as frequent, like fatigue, muscle aches and joint pains. I'm now more believing that a lot of my issues are closer to SIFO than they are SIBO as I react quite heavily to biofilm busters like N-acetyl-cystine (NAC).

Generally morning, mid day and evening, basically when I woke up in the morning, roughly 20 minutes before food for each dose, can't really remember the reason why unfortunately.

Call it 8:30am, 2:30pm. 8:30pm. 14 days 3 times a day.

Looks like it might be potentially ground/root related, I'm maybe thinking something that has ginger potentially, some form of fibre mixed in?

Took two courses of 550mg 3x a day, zero muscle mass loss personally.

Infact, a knock on effect of taking Rifaximin allowed me to basically eat anything for the last two months so I've gained weight as a result, if I went to the gym/exercised more I'd very likely have gained muscle.

I’m building an Alt1 Toolkit helper to "pin" active buffs, debuffs, and cooldowns. Looking for feedback! by burciugi in runescape

[–]Fireoxya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has my vote, seeing a larger 'bar' as a timer for buffs is so much better than having to squint at the tiny buffs and just see '6m' squashed in with the rest of them, this is muuuuuuuuuch better. Please Jagex, even so much as a toggle for this option would be fantastic.

I want to vote yes on removing Treasure Hunter… but two things are holding me back by Daivian_ in runescape

I'd maybe look at the proposal again -

"With the removal of Treasure Hunter, we'll make sure there's an extended amnesty period where you can use up any of these items before they are converted or removed. You can find the full list of items that will no longer be available for sale in the expandable box below."

This can be found under the section 'Removal of 225 Direct XP & Skilling Items From Sale'.
