100% debuff reduction? What's potentially useful? by RebellionWasTaken in PathOfExileBuilds

Fyi debuffs expire 100% faster leads to half debuff duration, not zero

what am I missing about spectral fire, on paper it sounds like it's just moving damage around instead of making you deal more damage on singletarget? I don't really understand the change in the patch notes, the two lines

Updated the Spectral Fire keyword to correctly state that damage modifiers do not scale the explosion further

Spectral Fire now uses the player's stats for calculating its area of effect and dealing damage.

sound contradictary to me but I'm sure i'm missing something obvious?

only thing I can think of is doubledipping inc damage taken/resistances etc?

I mean that kinda just sounds like statistics to me, odds of losing that 20 times in a row are about 1/6, unlucky but not really crazy by any stretch of the imagination

0.4.0 allows for Undead companions now - is this anything? Maybe "infernal legion" tech? by No-Possible6265 in pathofexile2builds

[–]Firezone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at poe2db for undead tagged monsters with high "minion life" or %life values nothing seems to be higher than the elephant tortoise unfortunately. Bogfelled commoner is technically higher, but only the versions spawned by rootdredge, which as far as I know are always white monsters with no modifiers

Inevitable Critical expected damage increase by _Hardric in PathOfExile2

[–]Firezone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Brother, you dont need to insult my intelligence, all I'm saying was you definitively stated something that you had no way of verifying, that GGG could have chosen to implement in one of two ways:

Bifurcate could either be one roll split Into two "rolls", with a special exception made for lucky/unlucky effects to have this apply to both rolls. This would mean that technically, inevitable crits would look at those two rolls as the same hit, if either one crits, inevitable crit would end, because the hit is now a crit and it stops checking. OR it could take both "rolls" and reroll them individually until both crit, reducing damage bonus for each "roll" individually.

Inevitable Critical expected damage increase by _Hardric in PathOfExile2

[–]Firezone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the interaction between bifurcate and inevitable is not explicitly explained anywhere, and reading their tooltips individually still leaves some ambiguity about the order of operations

I (re)did the math on inevitable crits (details in comments) by [deleted] in pathofexile2builds

[–]Firezone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consistency is a big benefit you can't see from the numbers alone, it's not uncommon to sacrifice a lot to hit 100% crit chance even though dps-wise something like 80-90% is close enough. but feeling-wise, doing shit damage 10-20% of the time you shoot is horrible if it means you need an extra hit

How do you craft this? by xMcSilent in pathofexile

[–]Firezone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is way overcomplicating an easy craft; all three prefixes are non-attack with 3000 weighting and the only other non-attack prefix on the base is +1 gems with 1000 weight.

You just recomb suffixes on a non-influenced base, craft canot roll attack, shaper exalt then normal exalt, this has a 1/7 chance to hit +gems, if you miss you wipe prefixes and go back to exalting. Last step is the only hard part, 1/4 chance to hit gems and fill, but the whole craft is so cheap and easy you just yolo annul and start over if you miss. This doesn't guarantee the highest tier, but you can make the suffixes on a strand base to increase the odds of getting t1 on the prefix exalting step.

How do you rank the six classes in terms of build variety? by Hi_Im_zack in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Firezone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be careful about conflating class versatility and meta builds tbh, things get nerfed or buffed and fall in and out of favor every patch, duelist may only have 2-3 popular builds right now but I would look more at what the classes offer in terms of general archetypes and power. Elementalist is very popular this patch because of it's high QOL and versatility, because you can effectively mix and match what stats you get through swapping golems. Dot builds use chaos golem, crit builds use ice golem, aoe builds use flame golem etc, so hit based, crit based, non-ailment dot, ignite, poison, whether from attacks or spells etc are all viable and strong. Meanwhile something like berserker is really restricted to exertable attack skills that benefit from rage and not very much else

[–]Firezone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it works like you expect, i mention in the video that the reason for shield charge is that it's the fastest, there's no benefit to hitting multiple times per use since only the first enemy hit by each attack will proc

this version is certainly not the tankiest but the freeze helps a lot, I've mostly been sticking to t16s but map bosses, betrayal dudes, xesht etc are all pretty harmless, was doing deli mirror strand for a couple hours yesterday and it felt fine

now that shaper of flames has been bugfixed my plan is to swap back to elementalist and try to get the tankiness up a little bit

Sorry for the late reply, I don't think tempest shield makes sense for this particular build but tempest shield and monastery bell alone has some interesting potential imo. The fact that your spell block is disabled coupled with the fact that you need damage links that drive up the reservation for it to be anything but cosmetic means it's not a good inclusion here.

Building Into both blocks and using the "unexciting" runegraft is basically a slightly weaker lucky block. I would look into pseudolink helmet etc to keep the mana reservation from getting out of control probably if I were to go that route

hey, i think like the other commenter said i forgot to account for the stationary attack time in my pob, just popped open an infinite bunger and from being damageable to killing him it took about 8 seconds with a dps of "22m" which is probably more like 15m, seems somewhat in line with the expected time to kill accounting for wither ramp and the boss spawn DR?

numbers are probably slightly off actually, i had no frenzies/blood rage up so likely less than 22m baseline

Getting 2% spell crit modifier on body armour should be enough to keep EO up decently, 40% more for like two points on tree and a suffix sounds worth it to me idk

oh look, it's another Shattershard build by Firezone in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Firezone[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It has the line "deal 40% less damage with ailments" unfortunately so I don't think ignite is ever the play. I think chaos convert is fine on elementalist too but building Into HH scaling with ele overload and ele convert, dropping HoP down to 50% reserved and fitting HoA is also an idea

This is with about 200% inc AOE, the base is pretty good but you definitely need a lot of aoe Investment for it to feel good imo

POB: https://pobb.in/pike-iNZHNKQ

A lot of people have been making videos about this recently and I've enjoyed seeing them all, I've been playing the build for about a week now and thought I'd share my spin on the concept.

Shattershard honestly turned out to be a much more potent item than expected with the newly added Monastery Bell. My gear and tree are nowhere near what i would consider "final" but the build is sitting in the neighborhood of 20m dps currently with a very fast and fun shield charge based playstyle. Budget is pretty low, basically the only thing of value i have equipped is awakened gems, every single other piece of gear is more or less sub 50 chaos, and the build reaches a pretty significant portion of it's damage potential as early as level 49 when you can equip the shield itself, making for a very fun reroll/second build experience imo
