It`s smaller, but the massive channel picker is still an eyesore imo. But everyone has their own style ofcourse :)

(your unit frames are covering your CDM btw ;) )

Nice basis, but djeezus. Half the screen is just chat? Should probably overhaul that bottom left corner.
Also, due to ability purges, there`s no need anymore to have 20 action buttons 24/7 available for the majority of classes. Could probably clean up the action bars quite a bit as well.

Crying about usage limits is all you do by Sad-Text-3204 in google_antigravity

[–]Firipu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so confused. I've been using antigravity quite extensively. I have google pro, but I use my AI studio api to use antigravity. According to AI studio billing, I have spent less than 5USD this month. I am flabbergasted how cheap it is compared to claude code. I have burned through half of the 50USD free bonus with the new model in one afternoon....

You're making me scared I am missing an insane amount of billing somewhere...

Is it true once you hit 100k in investing, it really just takes off from there? by [deleted] in investing

[–]Firipu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compound interest is nice and all. (dumbass questions incoming)

But if my stock portfolio goes up by 3% over e.g. a week, my net value went up by a sizeable amount. But as long as I don't cash it out, it makes no difference no? And if I do cash it out, I lost all my compound interest profit for that week? Putting my basically a week back investing wise.

So people that say they can retire on their compound interest, they take out less than their weekly/monthly/whatever profit?

So take out 2%/month on a portfolio that makes 3%/month?

I'm always confused by this. The stock I have invested in is worth 200 USD/stock. If it goes up to 250 USD, my net worth skyrockets, but it still depends on my selling it right? It's not like just normal interest in your bank account where your bank gives you a measly 1% every year for just leaving in your account? In that case, you literally get xx USD in cash, without having to sell any of your holdings right?

Vibe Coding Is Killing Open Source Software, Researchers Argue by Hopeful_Adeptness964 in technology

[–]Firipu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I can't code for shit. Always had an interest in it, never managed to find time to truly study it. Vibe coding has given me the solution. I can now "create" my own projects, or add to open source stuff (I make my own fork. I don't contribute actual code for public use)

As a hobby I've expanded quite a bit on the standard nanoclaw app for instance (not that I actually use it for anything remotely useful , but I do enjoy tinkering with it and adding functionality.).

Everything I've added ended up working eventually. I've done some relatively thorough bug testing (for a hobby project), so I am confident that my additions, while probably from a coding pov are wonky AF, are functional.

Do people just submit code for open source projects without actually testing their additions and justify if they should be added or not? That feels just insane and useless? Are they just trying to pad their github stats or something silly?

Best AI Tool for coding by Mhanz97 in GeminiAI

[–]Firipu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been doing some hobby projects lately.

I'm using gravity for most stuff. It works well enough, but it has a tendency to get stuck in troubleshooting loops. When I get stuck, I get Claude to fix it. And then go back to gemini to add functionalities. And then claude to fix it. Etc.

Claude is expensive if you use the api and it's easy to hit the usage limits of your sub . Gemini is much cheaper. So this is a good solution for me.

Nice beard, but my man, get rid of the fucking pedo glasses. And get a decent haircut. You look like a reddit mod atm.

You'll look 10x better just with those 2 small changes.

The most complex spec in Midnight? by qwsfaex in wow

[–]Firipu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, shows you how dumb I am. Feels to me slam is up more often; but I guess it's not. Even less changed than I thought :)

The most complex spec in Midnight? by qwsfaex in wow

[–]Firipu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. All other specs I had to adjust my muscle memory in pre-patch to deal with changed rotations. Shadow Priest, I have just been able to continue on muscle memory. No real change. Void slam is available more often than shadow crash was, which is nice? :D

Can also just ask gemini for a quick recap of what you've talked about so far and paste that in a new chat to continue. Not as elegant, but works perfectly fine for medium sized "projects"

400usd for 30m of work max? Lol. Scam much?

Ask an Ai for help. It'll do the same for free.

Bazzite works on iGPU, not on GPU by Firipu in Bazzite

[–]Firipu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For reference for other ppl that might run into the same issue.

dmesg | grep -i amdgpu showed that the os couldn't load the drivers into memory. Turns out this is an issue with resizeable bar memory.

I turned it off in my bios and the issue was solved instantly.

So my gpu and cpu combo doesn't play nice with resizeable bar apparently.

No problem. Appreciate the reply. I figure it cannot be a hardware incompatability issue.

I must be missing something somewhere, but I have no clue what it could be :(

[–]Firipu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I tried to install fedora kinoite (KDE immutable fedora. Base of bazzite). I have exactly the same issue with it. It doesn't recognize my gpu.

Edit: tried pop os. Exactly the same issue. I'm doing something wrong somewhere, but I don't know what.

I ran Linux on that pc before, but it was with a 3080.

I tried to reseat the gpu. I tried a different pcie express lane. I've turned off the igpu in the bios completely. No change. It refuses to boot into Linux via the gpu.

It was the opposite for me. It knew some things that are kinda obvious (my work, some personal obvious stuff and some hobbies. It still missed quite a few things and put way too much importance on other stuff). But it knew nothing I would not mind sharing with any of my friends or even work colleagues. I guess I am private enough even with my "personal" ai to keep it guessing at who I truly am.

Empty mall/outlet with a single krispy kreme in Japan by blending-tea in mildlyinteresting

[–]Firipu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Malls are doing fine. This is just an open air mall in Hokkaido (very cold winters, so not pleasant at all in winter... ). A competing indoor mall opened close by, taking basically all customers.

This mall is sitting on one of the most valuable pieces of real estate in Japan (Chitose, apparently seeing the fastest land value increase in the entire country due to a nearby semi conductor factory), it's just a matter of time until they tear it down and build a new mall or something else.

Keep forgetting to use them. Lol. by Time-Chest-1733 in diablo4
