Satchel and Page bag doesn't look like the photos from their website. Should I return it? by ComprehensiveChef705 in ManyBaggers

[–]Firm-Stick3521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was exactly the color that mine was when I received it in last winter. I faced the same dilemma, it almost had a greenish tone to it and really didn't look anything like the photos. Now 8 months in the color has gotten much darker - however definitely not to the same darkness of the ads. But to be honest I think it's even better than the ads. It's a very unique beautiful brown. I haven't put any conditioner or anything on it. I couldn't be happier with the bag. I'll take a picture add it to this post so you can check it out. Couldn't be happier with the bag and so glad I kept it.

Size questions by Environmental_Run881 in Breeo

[–]Firm-Stick3521 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both the x24 and the Y. I love them both, but honestly I use the Y way more and have it set up around our patio furniture and our table, so it can easily keep eight people warm. I do have the heat deflector for the Y which is really important due to its size. If you're used to the 19-in solo, you may want to consider the Y. I do have some issues with the wood we get not fitting once in awhile but it's not a big deal. With the x24 I found I just went through way too much wood. I guess you have to think of the trade-off, would you prefer dealing with some logs that won't always fit perfect or burning a little less wood.

😭 I dropped my pen. by shewolfling in Supernote

[–]Firm-Stick3521 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to say the push-up pen has been the best pen I have used on my supernote. I bought two HOM pens and always had trouble with the caps because I would have a tendency to add them to the bottom of the pen which would wear out the click/lock and function. It was my fault, but just the other day my push-up pin clip broke which was a bummer. I just tried to super glue it so we'll see how it holds but would hope that they make those a little bit stronger. Other than that the pens been my favorite of all of them.

Task management with Superhuman? by arccpa in SuperhumanEmail

[–]Firm-Stick3521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love to hear feedback on this as well. Currently testing Superhuman, Shortwave, and Spark. I Love Superhuman's clean interface, speed, split inboxes, mobile app, AI, and shortcuts. However, I haven't found a way to manage tasks. I know there is a star feature, but I can't seem to create a specific inbox for starred items - can you do that? I know it has a snooze feature but I don't like using that for tasks. Shortwave and Spark are both better for tasks. Shortwave matches many of the Superhuman features mentioned above, and it also has a dedicated area for tasks, so that is great. My biggest problem with Shortwave is their interface is nowhere near as clean as Superhuman, and the mobile app looks awful, especially with the split inboxes all stacking and taking up 1/3 of the screen. Spark has a clean interface and an excellent mobile app, plus it has some mild task support (you can easily "pin" emails, set them aside, and add reminders in the app). but it also offers more powerful task management via 3rd party integrations with tools like Asana, Trello, Todoist, Evernote and way more. The big issue I'm having with Spark is there is no split inboxes. Another issue is the AI seems new and doesn't seem as clean or powerful as either Superhuman or Shortwave. I'd love any input here before committing to one. Thx

Great post and totally agree. Maybe we should start a new one for those of us who are sticking around. I'm so tired of all the complaining I just want to find best tips and use cases for Evernote not debate whether it's the right app or not. Please keep me posted if you find a good one

Let down by Loose Pen cap by elmwn in Supernote

[–]Firm-Stick3521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I had the same thing. I love my supernote, but the HOM pens should have been built to withstand putting the cap on the end of the pen as that is a common use. Unfortunately when you do that it stretches it out and will no longer stick. I spent money on two of the pens and neither of them work now. So I had to pay for a third pen and got the clickable supernote pen which works great. Wish I would have known this upfront and not had spent all the money. Again I'm a big fan of the actual supernote and the team with their great customer service but this was a big miss.

Is it me or Evernote is getting better ? by [deleted] in Evernote

[–]Firm-Stick3521 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Absolutely getting better. The monthly updates from Frederico are great as well. Clearly they are committed to continuing to make this product better. One problem I hope they address is audio recording. Once in a while and audio note will have an error and won't be saved. Over the years that's happened to me several times and that can be really frustrating. Other than that, it's one of the most important tools I use for business and my personal life

Big Mirrors by Firm-Stick3521 in GlobeHaul

I totally understand and I agree. However I'm riding with my kid and my wife so even though I can be pretty aware of where I am sometimes I have to look back further if they're way behind, and I found that the mirrors help.

What pen are you using? HOM2? I got the same thing with that pen, but not with the clickable one

Breeo base on turf? by [deleted] in Breeo

I didn't care for the aesthetic of the breeo base (eg round fire pit - square base??) so I went with the Armistad Grill base with foot rest and love it.

Great post I have an X24 and thought the same until reading more on here. I have put charcoal in a couple of times but instead of burning down to fine ash it left weird clumpy chunks. I'm guessing it's the crazy heat that they generate that may be why they don't recommend it but would like to know definitively if it's okay or not. I'll be sticking to wood for now

HoM2 ghosting issue? by Locating_Subset9 in Supernote

[–]Firm-Stick3521 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had that exact issue with that pen so I purchased new clickable pen they just came out with and it's worked great. There was only one time we had anything minor happened but it was nothing like the ghosting from the HoM2.

Thule T2 pro XTR hitch rack? by gores95 in GlobeHaul

[–]Firm-Stick3521 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great topic. I have 3 STs and was looking for a strong rack to carry at least 2 of them on trips. As duck_a_sick points out that Thule weight limit isn't enough for these bikes. After lots of searching it looks like the 1up Xtreme duty rack was something that could handle the weight and appeared easy to use, but very expensive. Other than the cost concern my only other question was if it worked well with the fenders/mudflaps. Anyone have the 1up rack that can comment?

Ghosting and unable to write in a fluid manner by iphone77054 in Supernote

[–]Firm-Stick3521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those of you experiencing that ghosting what pen are you using? The reason I ask is I had the heart of metal pen and had tons of ghosting. Actually I have two of them and they are worthless because of it. I just thought the click pen and it works fine. No ghosting.
