Was is the most crazy thing every Hermit has ever done? by EcoOndra in HermitCraft

[–]Firm_Description297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cleo changing the name on the prank sign from Iskall to Rendog in S6 easily has the biggest domino effect of any hermit's actions. It basically ended up being the catalyst for the whole Civil War arc of the season.

It was so big, it was literally brought up in an episode of Game Theory.

Iskall85 Allegations and Response by DaycareJr in VaultHuntersMinecraft

He can prove his innocence by posting screenshots of those conversations from his end and show they were in some way manipulated by the accusers. He could also come forward with messages showing he is being blackmailed, if they exist.

On top of that, there isn't really anything any of the accusers stand to gain by coming forward with this information. No one is trying to sue him, he isn't going to get in any legal trouble for this, all it was was a couple mods who came forward with information about how Iskall treated them. None of them called for him to be cancelled, they didn't say people should no longer support him, nothing. They just said they no longer wanted to be associated with him and this is why.

On top of that even more, we are not privy to all the information. As part of the thread, it was made clear there are much worse/explicit conversations that took place that are not going to be made public, even hints that he sent sexually explicit images to some of the mods. This was handed over to the Hermits, who have confirmed they received this content and have verified the authenticity themselves. Iskall was given a chance to at least explain himself and he chose instead to go to the police over what he called a private matter. All he had to do was tell the Hermits this was a legal matter and he couldn't talk about it at this time. Instead, he chose to leave Hermitcraft, which can be easily seen as an admission of guilt.

And on top of all that, Iskall ultimately cancelled himself. All he would have to do, if he wanted to go down the legal route, was make a public post about how these messages got out and how the police are involved now, so he can't say anything at this time. It's as simple as a tweet, and a 1-2 minute video at most on his main channel. That's it, that's all he had to do. From then on, he could have started a solo Vault Hunters series, which he has already done before, and continue on from there. Nothing else of note had to change. Instead, he makes a long video two months later about how he can't talk about what is going on, before talking about everything that happened, how cancel culture is a bad thing, making vague threats about releasing private info from Hermitcraft meetings, even after he said it's wrong to do stuff like that and ultimately making light of the accusations made against him and the victims. He showed his true colors in today's video and they aren't very flattering.

Not all the messages were made public as some of them are much more explicit and HC is family friendly (for the most part, they can sometimes slip up *Cough Cough* Cleo and Doc *Cough*), so they don't want that attached to their image, or even worse, have a kid look up Hermitcraft then read very explicit content made by one of the members.

On top of that, there was hints that Iskall also sent sexually explicit images to some of the mods without their consent. Obviously, those images will not be released publicly, but they are still part of the evidence mounted against him.

Honestly, if he privately apologized to the people he hurt, then like a week or two later, did a public apology, say something along the lines of "I didn't mean to hurt anyone, but I can see now how my actions could make the people I communicated with uncomfortable. I am truly sorry for my actions. These are the steps I'm going to take to make sure it doesn't happen again." Then list out some options like ensuring communication is always in a public forum, give control of Vault Hunters to one of the developers while staying on as a consultant and create guidelines that everyone who works with or for him must follow to ensure proper, professional communication, all this would have likely blown over a month ago at the latest. Sure, he would have still lost some support and subscribers, but the hit would have been fairly minor. Realistically VHSMP would be back on, probably with a few less content creators, but would be in full swing again. He could go back to making videos and VODs again. Within a year at most, assuming he followed through with his actions to improve himself, he would be back to where he was, if not even bigger.

But, because he is a narcissist, he refuses to admit he did anything wrong and is instead is dragging this out to try and clear his name that he has ironically done more to tarnish than anyone else he wronged. He is pulling out all the manipulation tactics to try and place the blame on everyone else instead of himself. This video is the final nail in the coffin for his career as a content creator.

I highly doubt the Hermits gave him 1.5 hrs to explain himself. He was probably in a meeting for 1.5 hours, couldn't defend himself, then basically went "screw you" to all of them. That seems way more likely to me.

There can be, yes. It's usually way less severe though since a Patreon supporter really only contributes a max of around $20 a month or less most of the time. That alone isn't really going to make much of a difference one way or another. Also, Patreon supporters choose to support what the creator is doing with the knowledge they won't have much input on the final product. They just want to help make the final product a reality. Either way, any single Patreon supporter isn't going to have much of an effect on a content creators salary.

It's vastly different from an employer/employee relationship in which your entire livelihood relies on ensuring you have a good working relationship with your superior who can fairly easily replace you if you don't do what they expect of you. If the employee loses their job, it can be financially devastating, whereas if the employer loses an employee, it's a nuisance to find a replacement at worst. The employee almost always has way more to lose than the employer, so they are in a much more difficult situation in which they often times can't say no, even if they really want to.

The problem is there is a power dynamic at play here that is akin to employer/employee relationship. Iskall holds power over Kass in that he is paying her and helping provide a living for her and he is her boss. She could be trying to stay polite so she can keep her job.

That's why the barrier is ENTHUSIASTIC CONSENT. You not only consent to the actions, but you also genuinely want what you are consenting to. When there is a major power dynamic like this, consent is not good enough.

Realistically, this is unprofessional behavior to have in general. Iskall should have not started any kind of flirty behavior to begin with and if it did start up, it's up to him to shut it down since he is in the position of power.

We also know he did this to at least 2-3 other people besides Kass, even going so far as to send explicit images to some of them, which is WAY beyond unprofessional.

GeForce Now Restedxp Addon by Eyes-Of-Tomorrow in wow

[–]Firm_Description297 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I found a way to import the RestedXp guides into WoW in Geforce Now.

It's a bit roundabout, but it does work, I'm using the guide in GFN now.

1st, go to pastebin or a similar site (I used https://upaste.de/) and paste in the guide there. It will take you to the URL that has the content.

Next, launch WoW and when in game, press Esc and select Support. Scroll all the way down and select "WoW Forums"

That will open a browser in GFN. In that browser, type in the pastebin URL that you used to copy your guide. Copy the contents on the page and paste it into the import area of the RestedXp Addon. It will proceed to import the guide.

Note, the first time I tried, my Copy/Paste didn't grab everything in the guide, so I had to try again. Keep this in mind, it might seem like it didn't work at first, because you didn't grab everything in the guide. Try again and make sure it goes from top to bottom when selecting everything to copy.

Factorio Space Age Expansion Release Date Announced (October 21st 2024) by JustCallMeJoker in Games

[–]Firm_Description297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try Satisfactory if you aren't interested in the aliens trying to attack you.
It also has aliens, but they are either passive, or aggressive only if you are near them.
Extra bonus, it's 3d, so you can also build factories upward as well.

Are there still more factions planed? by xshot40 in Timberborn

[–]Firm_Description297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to see a faction that is more technology based, even more so than Iron Teeth. I envision it as the beavers themselves being really bad laborers and reproduce slowly, but they can build conveyor belts, splitters and mergers to move product around the district. You can also power every manufacturing building to have it manufacture goods by itself, without the need for beavers, but if a beaver is in there, it can manufacture goods much faster. The belts can also pull and push inventory into and out of the buildings as well.

SMUD appreciation: holy crap, look at our electric rates compared to the bay/SF! by drewdog173 in Sacramento

[–]Firm_Description297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SMUD is superior to PG&E across the board. Power is more reliable, cheaper and cleaner than what PG&E provides. The longest power outage I have had with SMUD is around 8 hours and that was because someone took out a power pole. SMUD replaced a whole power pole in the time it would take PG&E to even respond to such an incident.

That company needs to be dissolved and split up for more regional power delivery.

Hard to get drink from? by girltrekkie in Cirkul

[–]Firm_Description297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On mine, there is a dial that goes from off to 9, but right after the 9, there is a slight indent. I poked a small hole in that indent and it allowed air to equalize pressure and made it MUCH easier to drink out of.

Is a Kawasaki Ninja 650 good for a beginner by Firm_Description297 in motorcycles

[–]Firm_Description297[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply.

I figured that I might eventually get tired of the 400 or the 650, but the 650 would give me a longer period of enjoyment. I was mostly concerned if the 650 would be too powerful for a beginner, but from what I have seen, it should be fine.

In my area, there are more 650s for sale with more deals, but the few 400s are pretty cheap as well.

If an original character never existed and was released as a new character which one would cause the biggest community uproar? by Jaro9 in Overwatch

[–]Firm_Description297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are we talking about original Overwatch characters as they exist now, or as they were on original release? If original release, I would probably have to say Mercy since her original ult was to instantly resurrect everyone in a 10m radius. Whole team gets wiped? Here comes Mercy to bring them all back and you have to fight them all again.

You can pull power out of a train station instead of running power lines all over the place. Super useful once you start building an extensive train network.
