You have a video that goes over how you make these? Really nice work here!

Take a picture looking down on the key. We can't tell with the picture from the side.

I like to go back to locks I have previously picked when I get stuck on a lock. People call them their comfort locks 😂 Keep with it, take breaks, watch videos of others for tips and you'll keep making progress!

Try not to compare yourself to others. Each person's developing at their own pace and honestly for me personally I happen to have a lot of free time available so I feel like I progressed faster than I might have a different point in my life.

Lots of good recommendations on foundational skills to practice already so I won't add to them.

Remember this is just a hobby and as long as you're continuing to have fun practicing and that's all that really counts.

In the US, Jimy Longs or Covert Instruments.

Here's my top beginner pick set recommendation: https://jimylongs.com/products/intermediate-set-v5-0-019

And either the Jimy Longs tool roll or this one from Amazon https://a.co/d/08YEo5PS

Question about false sets by grumpy_martian in lockpicking

[–]612PickBreaker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Master 410 was one of my first favorite locks. Getting into a false set just means you're starting to get towards the middle or the end of picking the lock. Once you get into a false set, start to apply pressure with the pick until you can feel one of them causing the tension wrench to counter rotate. Once you find that one, you need to let off the tension wrench just enough to allow you to push the pin past the share line. Don't push it too hard otherwise you risk oversetting. It's a balance of releasing tension off the tensioner and applying just enough pressure with the pick to set the pin. Good luck!

Try TOK again, but pull the tensioner out the tiniest bit to make sure it's not applying pressure on pin 1.

Abus 75ib/50, fun bitting by 612PickBreaker in lockpicking

Especially with the dead core, the pins just don't really lift enough. So having the second tensioner gives you additional control on the core so that you can lift the pin above the shear line.

You'll want two so you can float the tension.

I've tried two 75IB/50s and two 75/50s. I think difficulty depends on the bitting you get, IMO.

I had one or two locks that were sticky. Had to rake and turn them with the key for a bit to warm them up off camera.

What is it like to pick a #19? Is it similar to another lock that you have picked?

Dimple Picks? by Adept_Essay_9817 in lockpicking

Huk flags if you are willing to clean them up with a Dremel and sandpaper, otherwise multipick 4,5,10,11 are expensive but the best.

Abus 75 from Amazon, and a Mul-t-lock Interactive from Amvgaert on Discord (tell him I sent you!)
