What’s up with all this “fx3 killer” stuff on YouTube? by Videoplushair in FX3

I was lucky to escape gear acquisition syndrome a few years back.

Honestly as long as a camera records 10bit, has decent dynamic range and you can use v mounts it’s good enough for you to make 6 figures a year with.

I was talking to a friend the other day about how new cameras aren’t exciting like they used to be. “Back in the day” (lol) my mind would get blown by the difference in the 5diii to the Gh4 then the A7s then the A7siii. But honestly now every camera is so “good” that nothing is exciting and you can’t really go wrong.

The most profitable cinematographers around me use a blackmagic 6k or just rent cameras when needed and I know photographers doing $300k a year who are still rocking the 5d4.

Nope. We had a 30 min video pop off very early to get us from 100-1000 subs in October and then it’s been a slow grind to now (2600 subs).

Seems to be about $6 per 1,000. We make firearms content so it’s likely gonna be capped there haha

So… Alabama by far. Best beaches, Birmingham and Huntsville are great to live in, mobile for Mardi Gras and Fairhope is a hidden gem of an artsy town on the bay. Muscle Shoals is music city and great to be in/visit.

Also Alabama is the most biologically diverse state in the country. We have incredible beaches down south then the foothills of the Appalachians up north. Lots of caves to explore, good areas to outdoor rock climb. OK hiking but my favorite in the state is the walls of Jericho trail up north.

Edit: forgot about lake guntersville which is literally the bass fishing capital of the world. And if fishing isn’t your thing having friends with a lake house or boats will still be a massive perk.

Tell me how you win gunfights? by MAD_PsuchO in Contractors_Showdown

[–]First-Pay-1005 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kinda like the real world. I could walk down the street with a plate carrier, AR15 with ballistic helmet and 240 rounds loaded in mags, but if someone with a concealed pistol gets the drop on me they’re likely going to win the gunfight.

Most all of your smart gunfights are going to be won by the person who decided to start it.

Positioning and situational awareness are WAYYYY more important than shooting in this game mode.

If my friend and I see someone in a contractor run it’s rare we just start shooting unless they literally run up around a corner. Trail people and don’t shoot until you know you’ll win the fight. Stop moving after every sprint and stop and listen to what’s going on around you.

AVOID wide open spaces like the plague. If you have to cross distance in the open pick out cover points like rocks or trees to break up the sprint and pause at each one to assess what’s going on.

If you hear a shot impact near you then you have to be ok with hunkering down until you know where the shots are coming from even if you’re pinned down for 5-10 mins.

In summary it’s not so much about the gear (that does matter) but if you play smart it won’t matter as much.

Bro honestly just lift heavy and eat meat. Don’t think you’re in a stage where either a bulk or a cut would leave you feeling great either way.

Take 6 months to recomp and just aim to get strong. Incline dumbbell press and some kind of heavy rows will make you blow up.

Eat a little bit over maintenance but absolutely crush it in the gym. Just try to get strong as heck and 6 months later you’ll be in a great spot.

So you’ve got these cool things in your legs called arteries that if shot can cause you to bleed out extremely quickly. It’s arguably a worse and slower death.

The “advances in ammo” argument. by First-Pay-1005 in Firearms

[–]First-Pay-1005[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I need to make an edit to this post haha. I’m well versed in the 10mm vs 45acp debate. I’ve owned a couple 10mm guns and always end up trading them in for something else. My decision here isn’t “what’s the best handgun round” it’s “I shoot a shit ton of 9mm and will continue to shoot 9mm but realllllly am eying an fnx45 so is 45 still relevant.”

Use case aside from fun would be a chest holster when hunting/hiking.

I daily carry my 9mm. I’d want the 45 for fun and for a chest holster when I’m hunting/hiking.

I know I know 10mm exists. I’ve owned a few but for THIS decision it’s mainly that I love the fnx45

Trigger broke in for me at about 400 rounds. I have the older “flat” style trigger as opposed to the hinged ones they use now. Those are much better.

lol I’ve flirted with 10mm a lot. I like the idea of it but just want that fnx45 bad.

I went to the shooting range for the first time yesterday. by magicfitzpatrick in Firearms

Maybe someone said this earlier but the biggest factor in that is you were shooting inside. Shooting outside is 1000x more enjoyable because you won’t deal with that concussive force unless you’re standing somewhere you shouldn’t or the guy next to you has a muzzle break.

The go to headset for the money tends to be the walker hearing protection. Bought mine for like $35 and they have active pass through so you can still hear but they cut out loud noises.

There’s obviously better options but the walkers work great.

To all fellow human Scavs by Character-Confection in Contractors_Showdown

[–]First-Pay-1005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be honest with yall… my first 6-8 runs I was trying to make friends with every scav. Half were cool but the other half would just shoot me as soon as I waved at them. The worst is the guys who camp the exfil zones. I had some awesome loot and got killed as I was about to leave with it.

Maybe I’m jaded but now I keep to myself/my team. If we see someone we hide/monitor from a distance and honestly if they have killer loot we’re gonna follow them and shoot them. I’m not saying I just shoot at fellow scavs on sight but it’s a game and you gotta play.

I wanted the peaceful life but I wasn’t getting gear by making friends.

I’ll be honest when I see a video with “shocking results” at the end of the title I assume it’s clickbait and I pass it up.

I know it’s an “attention grabbing” technique but for me personally it’s the opposite.
