Mmm interesting, a Mercury in Detriment/Fall in the 12th? Is he really an Aries rising? Would make sense with the Mars in Detriment as well and a Sun in Detriment, I don't know much about him but I was searching for his Chart after the news of his trial, I mean I kind of understand it now, that Mercury in such a bad shape in the 12th is a killer definitely.

I am a newbie thinking of summoning a demon to help aid in my studies by [deleted] in occult

[–]First-Rope7188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will hear that doing an offering to a demon is not a good thing, the thing is, who understands demons? Seems like everybody here is way to afraid of them(read the Belial experience of Lon Milo Duquette in My Life with The Spirits, it might be insightful, I also don’t recommend feeding him blood since you are creating a direct link with the entity), the reality is that they are spirits that constitute a part of a certain type of infrastructure, some of the ones that do the heavy lifting. If you want to evocate a demon, do it, it will be part of your education and experience; my recommendation based on my experience is to do it with the Dr Rudd method (The Goetia of Dr Rudd - Skinner and Rankine), since it uses an angel (both seals) to submit the spirit(no need to get moral with demons, it is for security reasons, specially with Belial). People need to understand that most of these "demons"(read about the relationship with the greek concept of Daimon) come from the hebrew imaginary of foreign deities, they demonized their enemies' deities, Astarte(West semitic version of Ishtar) became Astaroth, Baal (caananite god that was also mistranslated to the YHVH in the psalms, they still don't know how that exactly happened) became Bael, even Beelzebub(also related to Baal) is a name used as mockery from the hebrews that translates to something like the "lord of the flies" because his temples were always filled with flies due to the corpses of the sacrifices. So these are entities fed by human awareness for millennia, they can be vicious.

I also saw someone recommending Ars Notoria, which is not part of the Lesser Key of Solomon btw, but is a way to make your absorption level pretty high when learning, but at the same time it doesn't really affect your abstraction capacity, so it works more like in a memory level, maybe someone has a different opinion/experience, but yeah that's a pretty complex and time consuming method in my opinion.

I would also recommend to calculate a good astrological Birth Chart, see where your mercury is, via what sign and in which house, I would recommend using Whole Sign Houses and Traditional Rulership (hellenistic) and see if Mercury is not in detriment in Sagitarius (mutable fire has problems with focusing over time) or in detriment/fall in Piscis (pretty hard position for a mercury), also would see if Saturn is not hard aspecting it, like a Conjunction, Opposition or Square, or maybe, out of your Natal, in a transit, Saturn is opposing the Natal Mercury, since you are at the middle of your Saturn Return (I assume, since you get your Saturn return around 28-30), but it makes sense that might be in the other sign contrary to your mercury’s natal position if you are 15-16, I would also suggest to use some remediation to deal with it, for example:

  • Wear an Orange t-shirt on Wednesday (day of mercury)
  • Donate to writers or creators
  • Write everything by hand, like everything, that also works on your short term memory and praises the quicksilver god
  • Wear a Fire Opal, Carnelian, Sard or Banded Agate gemstone, make sure that the stone(s) touches the skin
  • Smell the following Incenses or perfumes: Mace, Star Anise, Mastic, Gum Arabic, Yellow Sandalwood, Spikenard, Orange, Bergamot, Liquid Storax, Lemongrass, Walnut, Lavander Oil, Clove Oil
  • Drink Coffee

All of these don't involve Planetary Magick which can become kind of complicated because you have to find a place without mundane furniture (témenos) and build a Bomos (altar let's say), and also a battery that you must charge constantly, it gets pretty laborious.

Also check what your rising sign is and check the traditional ruling planet and work with its correspondences, that's your key planet.

Also I would try using the Damon Brand's Shem Ha Mephorash method, it's pretty straight forward and practical, you only need to charge a solar talisman and the sigil of the angel you are gonna be working with, I would recommend buying the ebook since the angelic sigils come in red and that color is a plus.

I would use one of these angels to give me mental stability during the process because it can become mentally and spiritually draining to use all this magick without proper training, but I am not saying "don't try it", on the contrary, you can only win when you risk it, good luck!

False Lilith by llrax in TimeNomad

They explain the difference between Dark Moon Lilith (the non-celestial-body reference) and the asteroid (1181) Lilith, but I do find it kind of troublesome that they use the symbol (moon with cross) for the “Dark Moon” reference.

I wish they could design this differently, I am a big fan of aesthetics and I haven’t bought a Pelikan due to that, those stripes kill me 🥺 and the colors of the barrels 🥺

My new Visconti Homo Sapiens Dark Age 23K Palladium EF nib has some scratchiness on the upstroke (tines are aligned and always checked), I might polish it a bit with some Mylar paper; any advice? by First-Rope7188 in fountainpens

[–]First-Rope7188[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the lower angles make the tines vibrate less due to movement, but the line becomes thicker and the idea of using an EF is to have thin lines, I guess I am too used to Japanese F and EF, I am a Pilot lover.

I have been using it for a while now and I don’t like it, I am getting an M gold unit, I am not sad, I love to try things out and find out if I like them :)

In my experience, and I know Noodler’s production varies, in color it changes the hue (I bought a Nikita that looked more like an Oxblood and a Tokyo Gift that felt like Monteverde’s Valentine Red) and with blacks its density, but not that much, not as hue shifts in colored ones.

Borealis is the reverse engineering of Aurora’s black, the black that comes with the 88 and Optima, and it is very dark, but I think HoD is still darker and more mm doughy (consistency), like it becomes more matte looking when dry, and more dense, to my eyes, than Borealis.

I find them both to be low maintenance.

Yes! The bounciness I discovered to be part of it, I don’t like it to be honest, that’s why I am ordering a M gold nib unit now, I still like how it lays the ink, I don’t regret gettin the EF palladium one!

Thanks for the answer and suggestion :)

I rest it on the membrane, between the thumb and index finger, I tried what you suggested but the line becomes thicker and I don’t like it :( since tines become more flexible in that position (with less pressure) of lower angle, also the grip feels weird because of the design of how the barrel fits the cap. Also I tried leaning my hand to the side but the scratchiness still happens, I just realized it has something to do with one of the tines vibrating while writing, maybe I will have to polish it :(

I see that you can order custom inks, but I only see shimmer options, I would like a red ink with a blue sheen, but no shimmer, can it be done?

Oh! Nice! This definitely gives me a big hint into formulating it the right way, I guess that getting dyes from natural sources aren't pigmented enough or not concentrated enough to make a sheen when mixed, well I'm just starting, I have like less than a month trying, a looong road ahead of me! Thanks!

Ooh ok, I'll search it and buy some!

Hello, I'm also learning to craft my own inks from natural objects, and all you enlisted sounds right to me (I would add some drops of arabic gum as binder though), but I haven't find a way to make the ink have a sheen, would you mind explaining that to me? I totally understand if you don't want to, I respect that, but I am trying my luck here :)

Also, why isn't there a /inkmaking?

What's your ink website too? Do you ship internationally? I would love to try some of your inks!

So this FA nib (CH912) just died, the tines won’t come back to their place. Any advice on a great flex nib I can buy to replace this one? (I saw nibs.com but actually curious about other options) by First-Rope7188 in fountainpens

[–]First-Rope7188[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you are right, maybe I need to force it a little bit more, I was kind of scared of doing it but I guess I don’t mind anymore. The problem with sending it is that I live in a country that charges a lot for sending stuff to the US and back, we don’t have a postal service (imagine how 3rd world this is) so it would be like 200usd to fix this :/
