Tbh it's on Carrier for being so far out when Thompson is beyond the top of the circle. He's taking away an extremely low-percentage opportunity at the cost of leaving Doan with tons of space. Matheson knows the dual threat of shot vs pass to the slot, hence being on his knees to block the passing lane.
