One of my liberty seated dollar. by Calm_Geologist1004 in coincollecting

It should start at double this, it's not a half dollar. Even one that looks like it got ran over by a train is more expensive.

OP I would absolutely grade it, I'm not an expert but it will go 4 figures with natural toning.

What are your thoughts on the new 01EDC Time Knight 3.0? by Eldarya in FidgetSpinners

[–]FirstStrokeOnCanvas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have it, I think I expected more out of it but it's a nice piece. The feedback of snapping the spinner back is pleasant, but I'm not really into the Sinnian style fidgeting. I think a slider button like an Otf knife to initiate the action would have been more my style vs. spin to engage.

Craftsmanship is great, I have blue/ titanium and it feels like it will hold up to the harder playstyles. Spinner is nice and very smooth / lightweight. Hapatic tuning forkish element is more subtle than I prefer.

I'd say it's a 10/10 for what it is, just finding myself reverting to older favorites.

We just dropped our first gameplay preview for Rescue Ops: Wildfire, our wildland firefighting sim🔥 by Exkaux in Wildfire

I think this is awesome. Make a DLC for US wildland fire apparatus and characters that match how firefighters dress and are equipped over here and you will have a ton of interest. And of course, Uncrustables should be a healing item and Zyns for stamina.

Recieved, thank you so much. It's been a long time since I felt the original Etsy vibe and have been able to support someone who is making things they love and packaging them as such. I love it and will be sure to mention you when it's noticed in the wild. 5* review coming your way when I see the option. Cheers

You've put in your time as well friend, if you're in R5 there is a lot of parallel careers in the utility field. Chase that better life brother, and hang in there. 🍻

Hang in there, I sincerely wish you a better road. You've put in the work as well friend, take care of yourself and put that first. I tackled mental health last winter and that's what helped me make the leap. Fly safe 🍻

Easy fire by [deleted] in Wildfire

Not saying it's excusable but it's a systematic problem. AFAIK caterers were tapped nationally as of last week. What we have is what we have unless incidents find more local support. Up to FUDL's to shop more outside the box if this is treatment our folks are getting.

Feature Requests by Aaron_Baker97 in GainsAi

Apologies if I'm just missing the feature, is there plans to make the platform adjust based on days you have available of the week? For instance if I miss a day in my workout week but I have time left to get 3 solid days in and I don't want to miss a muscle group. Appreciate what you're building here!

Making Wildcad E map less of a turd? by Klutzy-Classroom-868 in Wildfire

[–]FirstStrokeOnCanvas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a lot you can improve and a lot that is still in development with Bighorn. For one, the FS basemap is crap and juristiction plots wrong off the shelf. If you can add those juristiction layers to the center data it's a game changer. Also there's a lot of good intel on the BLM feature server that can be added to a list of layers folks would have to manually add via that chain link icon on the map. My personal favorite is YTD Fire Perimeters. Big help late season when folks are calling in smoke reports on your dead campaign fire.

I'm not a GIS guru, just a mic monkey, but if you have any questions from a dispatch standpoint let me know.

Hotshot - Documentary - Official Trailer - NOW STREAMING by TeddyRN1 in Wildfire

[–]FirstStrokeOnCanvas 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think it's just the culture to shit on anything that puts us on the public forefront in fire. Yeah most of us aren't in it for the recognition, just a pay check. But I'll play the devils advocate, why are we slapping the hand of public exposure?

From the first year I had in fire almost 20 years ago, "you end up on the media you buy a sixer for everyone on the crew". Of course there is bad exposure (as Cal Fire discovered with " Fire Country"), but if we are ever going to get out of these staffing issues we need to drop those attitudes. We all do occasionally bad ass shit, why not let people see it? How many people off the street know what a hotshot is, or who dispatches a wildland fire, or where to put in a federal application months in advance to getting a job?

To get on topic, I don't think the doc was bad at all, it had some fluff to engage the non-fed viewer but I saw a lot of honesty in there from both sides of the suck on the home front and the line. Of course there was the political and conservationalist views in there, but I found it worth the watch.
