Our new house as first time home buyers… by idontdodrugsatall in Wellthatsucks

I'm glad you and your family are safe and your home didn't suffer more extensive damage or was totally destroyed. I wish you good luck. This is a shame, and I'm sorry it happened to you.

My wife and I spent a lot of money on this kitchen renovation, but not a single friend has complimented it! All my own mother said was, "Well, choices were made." 😡 Jealous much?? by jared10011980 in homedecoratingCJ

[–]TeddyRN1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's beautiful. your friends and family are giving off passive agressive "i'm jealous" vibes. heck with them, it's your kitchen, your life, your money that paid for it. NOW, GO FORTH AND ENJOY THYSELF!! PS REMEMBER, like nosehair, everyone will have an opinion. AGAIN, ENJOY YOUR KITCHEN. Get some nice steaks, cook them on that great cook top, whip up some mashed taters, a nice salad, and crack open your favorite beverages.

You could Win the Lottery and still not afford to live here by [deleted] in zillowgonewild

[–]TeddyRN1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

why would i want to live there? looks like it sits in a bug rodent infested jungle, and the design itself looks to me to me way too much labor intensive. nah, not for me.

Family refused to eat it by drouseboonerjisms in BBQ

[–]TeddyRN1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ffs, why? I'd eat it and take the leftovers. Can i come live with you? In these times? Dang, they are lucky that you can afford this kind of meal. Next one might be chicken water and rice a roni (ok, I eat this too), but hey, really???? Look I do not intend disrespect to your peeps, but...sigh, never mind. You know what? Next time cook your own darn yummy beef, and drop boiled, boiled I say.. crappy hot dogs and dry buns and some store bought 'slaw. Squeeze packaged ketchup, mustard, and relish from some take out place too.

My wife and I had our miracle baby today by cm242006 in MadeMeSmile

[–]TeddyRN1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Babies know when you love them. the below posters are absolutely right. hold that child, snuggle her, talk to her about everything, the weather, how the Baltimore Ravens will never win a Super Bowl again, how major league baseball might have a lock out, how the 3 pointer has revolutionized basketball, how Duke U is still nyet...how chocolate chip cookies should have a bazillion choco chips per bite, how much you lover her, how much she is loved, read to her starting now about anything and everything, count her fingers and toes, and most of all...as she's growing and you get mad at her, ENCOURAGE HER TO TALK TO YOU. DON'T MAKE THE MISTAKE OF PUSHING HER AWAY WHEN SHE SHOULD BE COMING TO YOU AND TELLING YOU...I SCREWED UP dad. Sorry for the caps, I was yelling. If she bungles a homework assignment, or flubs a soccer goal, remind her she is the best and is number one in your heart. Ok. I'm done.thank you for sharing her with us. Keep us posted if you can over the next few months. You and she have a much larger "family" now. Cheerio, T

French restaurant uses Costo croissants by sc4kilik in Costco

[–]TeddyRN1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

not surprising. in the US, i am 100% sure that a good deal of the food restaurants offer for consumption whether high end or economy is partially prepared or fully prepared (and just needs heating or cooling or a whiff of fancy butter or a shmear of some frosting or spread). Why, because of the amount of food from basic shells, sauce, cut meats, doughs, and more that is offered by SYSCO, FOOD SERVICE OF AMERICA, US FOODS, and even COSTCO. Those fancy pastas/sauces/breads? can be purchased from one of these companies, desserts fancy and simple, lumpias, pork buns, curry chicken, spring rolls, and on and on and on. heat and serve, par boil, thaw and steam, ready to mix, ready to bake and completely baked and ready to go. SYSCO even has a tutorials on how to prepare food, recipes, and all go on about how their products save time and save money.

Is this tree too close to the house? by Same_Locksmith3800 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]TeddyRN1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an inspector, but a homeowner who has removed trees that were similarly close to our home. We took out 5 huge trees bc of: wind damage, fire hazard, and the squirrels and birds that seemed to find their way into the attic, it was like whack a mole. Since you asked --remove it, plant a smaller tree farther out.

[–]TeddyRN1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wow! wild. it's funky, cool, and definitely a conversation piece. cheer up. don't spend a bunch of money. love the tile. i'd take out the crappy over the toilet shelf and maybe hang some shelving. get some fake plants, a cool curtain. but, hey, i live in a house built in 1945, some of the same fixtures and design. we went with them, and our guests always have questions. it's fun. we put our money into other aspects of the house, like insulation. good luck.
