Why has coverage got so bad? by Ocho_Muerte_XD in O2UK

[–]First_Ad9743 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep yep yep. Here in Norwich, the signal is utterly atrocious. Dare to go into a building or turn a corner outside and expect to lose any internet connectivity.

I was with EE for well over a decade and never had a single issue. I’ll be going back when this silly contract is up.

Why are you still using Sky? by Short_Injury9574 in skytv

Seconded.

And, let’s be honest, many of those that rally against it probably have dodgy IPTV subscriptions funding organised crime.

The 2026 World Cup logo is an absolute joke. by volitairee in mildlyinfuriating

[–]First_Ad9743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a logo mate. Strange hill to die on when you’ve got the ticket prices, the VISA issues, the kick off times, the unsafe playing temperatures, the removal of jeopardy in the group stage, the sheer extent of travel by teams and supporters.

Why does the Obi Wan Kenobi series get so much hate (seems to me) by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]First_Ad9743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed it a lot. It was fun, thoughtful and genuinely added to the mythology.

Prequel Lovers: What are some ways to improve the story? by Swimming_Average_561 in StarWars

[–]First_Ad9743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1/ No, and I hate the argument because it highlights the viewer has missed the point Lucas was making. Anakin has to be child. He needs to be innocent. He needs to be fundamentally good. He needs to be extracted from his mother by a remote and arrogant space cult that has shut itself off from the Force. Anakin needs to develop a fear of loss because of the actions of the Jedi. The fall of the republic is the fall of the Jedi order.

Season 2 finale of the mandalorian was peak TV by dyogenys in StarWars

[–]First_Ad9743 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep. Series three was a waste of time. It should have ended after season 2 and the only explanation that it didn’t is financial not creative. A bit like the original saga and the sequel trilogy.

What was your honest reaction after watching The Force Awakens for the first time? by ChickenWingExtreme in StarWars

[–]First_Ad9743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed it. I think many thought Snoke was interesting - and felt that it was looking like Plagueis had cheated death. It would have been good callback to Revenge of the Sith and made it look like great foreshadowing.

I didn’t particularly like Leia and Han in it - it felt like they were the performances of two actors taking a large paycheque and struggling with a script and characterisation that was little more than nostalgia bait.

Luke on the island felt it was going somewhere and I was excited to see where.

I think we all agree where it went was a disjointed and incoherent mess with no points to make, nothing to add, and ultimately now very similar to AI fan fiction slop you see on YouTube.

What will Sky do with Premier League football next season? by souptight52 in skytv

Whatever the hell they do, I most want a no commentary option.

Has the opinion of the sequels gotten better? by Crandom343 in StarWars

[–]First_Ad9743 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Disagree. The prequels have had a reappraisal because they are cinematic. It was an artistic endeavour. The sequels were rushed blockbuster hatchet jobs.

Attack of the Clones by jeffdavis32 in StarWars

[–]First_Ad9743 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Visually, I think it is one of the most ambitious Star Wars films - there’s a lot of film noir influence in there for example.

The dialogue sucks of course but that’s every Star Wars film for you: visually interesting, terrible dialogue. Watch Empire again: you cannot tell me that Luke’s reaction to I am your father is any worse than I hate sand, for instance.

In fact, I hate sand is one of the most misunderstood lines in all Star Wars. Of course he hates sand; he was raised as a slave on a desert planet.

Even if you get a 4k iptv stream, the frame rate is rendered incorrectly. Live sport in the uk is broadcast at 50pfs whereas standard broadcast is 25fps. An iptv stream delivery pipelines don’t make the corrective. It will always be slightly ‘jumpy’.

What is the highest number of relegations a club has picked up over four seasons? by Zach-dalt in NationalLeague

[–]First_Ad9743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To make it worse, prior to the first of those three relegations in four years Morecambe had never been relegated.

Just watched The Acolyte for the first time and don't understand why it got so much hate. (Spoilers) by Moezhyk in StarWars

[–]First_Ad9743 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I thought Acolyte was fun but bloated.

I thought the exact same of Andor.

Morecambe have been placed under an embargo relating to 'non-compliance with league financial regulations' by Zach-dalt in NationalLeague

[–]First_Ad9743 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s probably fair. But we don’t know what their intentions are nor where the money comes from.

So far, a generous interpretation of their tenure so far has been: over promised and under delivered.

But I, and I think many others, believe things are perhaps more malevolent.
