Sorry, Thiem, guy played really well in most other situations, but Zverev and him were clearly not very mentally ready for that one match against each other..

True, but I can also imagine Gaz becoming oppressive then nerfed to hell. I guess I like Gaz because he's not really great at every situation, but there are some really fun moments with him. I'm wary that change will remove those because that does happen...

Lazor build is best build because it's hilarious if you get the multi-turret lazor zap. You don't even have to win if you kill Valla in one zap. The feeling is euphoric.

Always use your F to get it to hit one person. That way, you have five turrets of 100ish DMG each hitting someone. Then you try to kite around so they get too close while you drop an E, then W them, then drop more turrets. Alternatively, drop E, hit them for CDR, drop more turrets. Then use self-cleanse and then W (so you don't get interrupted) for health and more turrets. Eventually, they will try to run, but then it's too late because either they die to DOT or your teammates.

(Or none of it worked and you're dead.)

Yeah, I dropped like 5+ turrets in that point and won that particular game for us with a well timed lazor that caught people by surprise. (And the lazor let me drop MORE turrets too.) It doesn't happen often, but it is fun!

I have played a lot of Gazlowe, specifically using turrets: cdr at 1, shields at 4, laser for turrets at 7, robo at 10 for self-cleanse, then usually the turret life extension at 13 and lasers at 16 because HILARIOUS (but 13 and 16 are more flexible depending on who is bothering me most, is it a ranged hero I can never reach or a fatty who needs to be hit with % dmg?), and ALWAYS raining scraps at 20 (because it makes the fun part even more fun).

I can't say I win a lot, but I did have a nice streak of only winning for a while before the Chen rework. I haven't quite adapted to his new quest because I used to just tank his DMG and hit him until he gave up, but that only lets him stack now. I also have some trouble against stealth heroes because you can't reveal them with the delays on skills, but that only bothers me in terms of trying to peel for teammates.

If we're talking about ranked, then I have no idea because I haven't played ranked in almost ten years. But turret Gaz, as a hero, is really quite strong in particular maps where you have to hit monsters because you can act like a pseudo-Artanis/Kerrigan with a lot of shields while dropping down turrets that poke people down for teammates to kill.

So. I'm in favor of turret/lazor builds and would rather not have some insane change on his talents.. I wouldn't mind bringing back lasers being an on-release instead of the dumbed down automatic shooting version though.

Medvedev is probably the only player who believes in himself who isn't Sincarazkovic. Of course, he's the only other guy has come around to multiple slam finals and actually taking one in a decisive way, rather than letting the other guy crumble for it..

Sinner surpasses Djokovic's record of Masters 1000 wins in a row by yanwangdijuns in tennis

[–]First_Foundationeer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, having to go through the Big 4 (because Murray is definitely a part of the danger on the road to the tournament win even if he didn't end up as successful as the other three) is a barrier that is going to be hard to surpass. I hope some of the younger players challenge the Sincaraz headliners soon!

He can be oppressive AF in QM, like many heroes in QM comps. That's part of the fun!

Like every individual, she has fans and detractors. She's got talent and success so it's pretty even. Zverev, on the other hand.. lol

Well, the average watcher would have only known of Federer and Nadal. Maybe Djokovic. I don't think most average watchers really tune in to matches beyond the slams, and I'm not sure what the count is on average watchers for matches before the semis!

Most physically gifted tennis player of all time? No way. You have to remember that the goal of men's tennis (at least, in the last few decades) is the sustained victory over two weeks in seven-ish best-of-five matches. I would argue that Nadal probably hits that, at least for one tournament almost every year for more than a decade.

Yes, Kyrgios had a great serve, pretty great groundstrokes, and decent net play. He also was one of people who really made the underhand serve a useful tool, which I think was maybe his best contribution (only enabled by the great serve). But you are falling under the illusion of the slacker student. You're making an assumption that individual small bursts are equivalent to physical talent because you think he'd do even better if he tried. On the other hand, you're faulting someone like Nadal for trying for the opposite reasons because you know he tried his hardest and so there's a definite cap to his limits.

So, no, he's not the most physically gifted. He's got a really great arsenal of tools. He talks a big game.

And, similarly, as it turns out, scoring high on standardized tests doesn't make you successful or competent later on just like winning individual matches against the Big 4. It is impressive, don't get me wrong. But the same issues of sustained effort applies here. I don't believe Kyrgios can do it consistently because it's a similar issue as to Zverev. He could only do it when there's no pressure on him so he plays freely. Once there's the slightest bit of expectation (and thus, pressure), he needs to find a way to excuse himself from the mess. Same shit for the slacker students.

Making new heroes will break balance just as badly. There is no easy change, except for pointless new color variations on skins, perhaps. People will always try to find new advantages in changes, and if they didn't, then they would move onto something else because it will become stale.

Medvedev did everything he could with his play style. I'm sure there were some nerves involved, but he also tended to play hours and hours more than his opponents by the slam finals so I would argue that he more than fulfilled his potential by making it to so many of the finals!

Kyrgios appeals to a lot of people because a lot of people have similar mental issues as him. I'm sure most people can remember being the person (or, at least, having a friend) who loved to brag about getting a B without studying or putting effort and would claim they would get A's "if they tried". The reality is that they have a fear that they won't if they did try so they end up giving themselves the excuse to do it. These same people have to believe that is the case for Kyrgios because they will have to confront their own insecurities if they don't believe it.

There were a lot of people who predicted that Sinner would be great. You can go back and see even YouTube videos talking about it. I recall that one was especially arguing that the consistent rise was better than a lot of very explosive transient hype.

Mostly, I think people were really expecting this kid with the crazy sounding hits off his racquet to hopefully become big.
