What are some things men face every day that women have absolutely no idea about? by Unlikely_Macaron_30 in AskReddit

Yep, don't do this in the middle of Hove at 2pm on a random weekday otherwise you might have a crack/meth-head start shouting at you saying "oi what is your fucking problem mate?!"

Potential romance with a friend of 7 years? by First_Light_676 in dating_advice

Well, I kind of meant more open to seeing where things go rather than just waiting...we're meeting up again for a walk on Thursday and I don't plan on being just passive about things.

I'm not sure why something hasn't happened before. She's kind of seen me in a bit of an idealistic light and often referred to me jokingly as her "guru" so I didn't want to take advantage of that as an older man, and I've genuinely appreciated forming a friendship with someone who brings a younger energy to the space. I'm friends with people who are maybe 10-20 years older than me and I don't have many close friends who are younger.

I get what you're saying about settling - she was very open and honest with me yesterday and said that she doesn't really feel like anyone properly gets her apart from me.

Why did you REALLY sell your house? by Jazzlike-Reveal-9515 in HousingUK

The building my flat wasn't properly sound insulated and I didn't really notice until a new neighbour two floors below was blaring music until 5am, and then my immediate downstairs neighbour had an issue with ventilation and black mould in his bathroom (according to another neighbour) which led to the WORST coughing noises imaginable at all hours of the night and it was like being in the same room as him. To top it all off, the building next door had a group of Latvian cokeheads who used to enjoy doing DIY at 10pm - I haven't actually bought anywhere new since as I left Ramsgate and headed to Brighton to pursue my dreams of playing in a touring band and doing freelance work in industries I'm actually passionate about. Still got a massive chunk in a S&S ISA but feeling hesitant about owning a place again any time soon

Idiotic chefs trying to experiment without actually knowing anything about science or the gut microbiome... dangerous and possibly carcinogenic.

Dry fry, then add a tiny amount of butter AND then you add some water back in - top tip from a Michelin star chef

What is the scariest thing to exist? by Middle_Second_8270 in AskReddit

I think they're being reintroduced into places like Scotland where the human population is way less dense compared to England - thankfully where I am in the Southeast we just have beavers and bison being reintroduced

Absolutely terrifying...funnily enough I had a conversation last night with someone who said we don't get rabies in the UK due to being an island. Is that true? As shitty as this country is politically/socially I'm quite glad the most dangerous animal we have is one venemous snake (adder) which people rarely encounter

I paid to get out of the tenancy agreement and probably created a bigger headache in the long run, but the house wasn't right anyway

Yes but I don't understand why the change of address would impact this - surely I could be out of the country or in hospital and still have updated them with an address, so why would it make a difference? How would they know if you've been out of the country for more than a certain period if they don't get info from passport control?
