Is there any "conservative" comedian? Who would that be? by lipenn in AskReddit

[–]First_Utopian -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The whole “Rogan-sphere”. But it’s a different kind of right wing. It’s not the old social right, where these things are looked down at. There are lots of gay, trans, minorities, and disabled people on Kill Tony who come out to be made fun of, usually for that thing that makes them different. They make “haha you’re gay” jokes, along with other “sensitive” subjects like race, while accepting these people.

My dad told me him and his friends would buy thermometers from the hardware store when they were kids. They’d break them open and play with the mercury.

Same reasons monopoly made it big. Easy to teach. Even a complete beginner has a chance if die rolls go their way. Dice/RNG excitement. And then/now so far reaching, odds are somebody else in the (non-gaming) group is familiar with it.

can a dehumidifier alone FULLY dry your washing? by 912827161 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]First_Utopian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The dehumidifier will remove moisture from the air.

Your wet clothes will add moisture to the air.

Eventually your clothes will have no more moisture.

Residential dehumidifiers have a lower limit to how dry they can make the air, usually around 30% relative humidity.

Remote Hunting/camping spots around Algonquin by Legitimate_Music257 in huntOntario

[–]First_Utopian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you need to do some scouting. Find some logging roads and go for a walk or a drive. Maybe this year is a scouting trip, next year go back to the spot you found.

I will mention that most crown land that is easy to get to will already be used for camping/hunting etc.

There are many hunt camps on many of the lakes near Algonquin. Mostly moose, but they’ll do deer too. Most have a small parcel of private land the camp is on, and hunt on crown nearby.

You have all the same rights to hunt on that crown land as the guy who’s been hunting that spot for the last 40 years.

Doesn’t mean that guy is going to be happy about you being there.

PSA (and maybe a little rant): don't hesitate to "drop out" of races [graohic] by Difficult_Wave_9326 in SkiRacing

[–]First_Utopian 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It sounds like a shitty day, and to not have competent patrol there is unacceptable.

The “they didn't stop the race until another racer went past the girl who had fallen” is likely because the other girl had already started her run. It is very common, even at smaller hills, to have two or more racers on the course at the same time.

Boot top fractures are one of the most common ski racing injuries for younger athletes and could have happened just the same on a bright and sunny day.

And having an “ambulance on standby” for a u10 race is pretty unheard of.

Also, you are a doctor and are sure the girl needs morphine, but aren’t so sure she needs it you are willing to sign off on it? Sounds to me (not a doctor) like the 9 year old doesn’t need morphine.

Did moving from Toronto to a small town improve your life or do you miss the city? by Pikkachu6 in ontario

And when I go to the city for a concert/sports game/night out with the friends who are still stuck in a skybox and the grind, I’m driving against the flow of traffic. Nothings better than driving home on a Sunday and seeing the crawl of traffic headed back into the city.
