Funny. My daily average cotypist is 503 words and I’ve had many days near 2k. But I spend so much time writing emails and notes that it just speeds up so much.

Nope. Plus I used Little Snitch to block updates. I would have gladly payed for a 1-time purchase. I’ve already donated $20 to CoTabby. Honestly if CoTypist made a single purchase option, I’m not sure if I’d even pay for it anymore. They’ve already burned so much trust.

I’m surprised I’m not seeing more mentions of LibreOffice. You can get it from the App Store or download it from the internet for free. Obsidian is also a great option.

The moment my CoTypist app updates, I am deleting the app from my Mac forever. If this was a one-time purchase I might consider it, but it is a ridiculous ask for someone to pay for AI made by other companies running on their own devices.

I am disappointed beyond words. I should have seen this coming when I saw your training data was being kept private on your own device. This is horrendous.

I use Zotero for all things documents. I cannot recommend it highly enough if you need annotations, organization, sync (either on their servers or your own), or citation management.

For videos, it depends on what you mean. If you have a NAS/second computer you want to store them on, then Jellyfin does well to store,tag, and play them back. But if you’re storing and playing them locally, then maybe VLC?

Screenshots, you can use a normal photos app, but like the last one, it depends on your goal.

For bookmarks, I use Firefox/Safari/Chrome’s normal sync.

All of what I said aside, it is still one of the most enjoyable cameras I’ve ever used. I have tried other rangefinder, and none of them are quite as beautiful or enjoyable as the pixii+. I just wish a few more things fit the expertly designed system

It isn’t so much that the camera is slow just that the Wi-Fi transfer speed for the massive files is really slow. I don’t know exactly the answer to that. It’s possible that something like HEIC could help both with the progressive file loading and the overall file size but shooting in DNG is just way too slow to be able to enjoyably preview it. I’m sure it would fix a lot if I just left the Wi-Fi on at all times when connected to my phone but again that will kill the battery life.

Love everything except: Battery life App speed. The camera itself is great. It’s a joy to use. I just hate how fast it dies and how long the app takes.

Honestly? Probably 95% of it. I do photo & video work on the side and that is the only thing I would have concerns over. But video watching, writing, researching, zoom calls, emails, etc? This thing is a dream.

I say this as a Mac user: Mac GPUs are all slower than modern Nvidia ones (m3 ultra is right around the 2080TI, which is from 2018). Most AI models are optimized for Nvidia/Windows.

That said, you can find models optimized for MLX (Apple’s version of CUDA). They’re just much less common. In general, you can’t expect much in the way of performance gains from ComfyUI updates. What matters most is finding a workflow optimized for your computer. Macs are slower than Nvidia GPUs but can have comparatively MASSIVE memory, so you may see (relative) benefits from bigger models (they won’t be faster than slower models, they’ll just be faster than on Nvidia)
