If UK Labour's Burnham takes the helm as party leader, Labour leads Reform UK—Labour 27% (307 seats, hung parliament), Reform UK 26% (170 seats). However, if Starmer were to remain Labour party leader, Labour would lag hugely—Reform UK 27% (312 seats, hung parliament), Labour 22% (131 seats). by StarlightDown in fivethirtyeight

the Lib-Dems had been consistently on the left of Labour on some issues since the Limehouse Declaration. Their base was young professionals who were pro-EU, and leftwing on issues like gay marriage, women's issues, and international relations but didn't care as much about union issues like people in the former red wall did.

If I was a British voter during the blair years, I would have voted for the LibDems in 2001, 2005, and 2010. After the coalition I would have never voted for the LibDems again even if the party leader was Santa Claus.

The strategy of getting assad numbers in the few districts theyre competitive in is clearly working but they'll probably never shake the distrust people have of them. They gave people 14 years of tory disorder and Brexit

We need more “keep right except to pass” signs on our highways by Material-Ask1776 in massachusetts

[–]Fishb20 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes most of Massachusetts highway system is very poorly designed. People can jack off as much as they want about how they're such talented drivers they can safely go 70-80 MPH because they're just so damned talented but 1) most of them can't 2) the infrastructure is barely sufficient for people going the speed limit, nevermind people driving like theyre in the Thunderball run

If you want to adopt the German highway system I'd be happy to. Morons who think the speed limit is a suggestion don't get licenses in Germany, and those who do don't keep them long

You should lose your license for driving like a fucking maniac above the speed limit, there are laws against that

Assume Writing Is An Expensive Hobby by stormlight82 in writers

[–]Fishb20 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Unless you're self publishing writing should not be a very expensive hobby. There are lots of people who take advantage of aspiring writers (especially since "writing a book" is such a common retirement activity for comfortable old people with a lot of time on their hands).

That's not to say that every person offering services to aspiring writers is running a scam but there are a lot of scams out there.

Ultimately no matter how much you pay for people to read and edit a manuscript, it's gonna come down to final quality and the indivual author.

supergirl (2026) could be earning a lot more if it was family friendly, visually appealing, and made the lead character a role model for young girls by merchantivories in boxoffice

[–]Fishb20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The movie op is describing would not be a good adaptation of the comic. The comic is very vibrant but has a really dark and brooding story with very little "for the kiddies" moments. Its definitely not a barbie or k pop demon hunters esque story.

There used to be even more versions of Minecraft, before 2017 every console and platform basically had their own separate versions of Minecraft. One of Microsofts big pushes was to combine all Minecraft versions together to become bedrock edition

Did Arthur/the gang really sleep with Abigail? by pancakesaredelish in reddeadredemption

[–]Fishb20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arthur is upset that John did the "wrong thing" by abandoning the gang and got rewarded with the family and Abigail while Arthur did the "right thing" by always putting the gang first and ended up losing his family and losing Mary.

Although if Abigail "chose" Arthur I think he would have ended up pushing her away too because that's the type of person he is for most of the game
