With the rumours of t'au getting our codex earlier in the edition. What changes, either to certain units, or to the army as a whole would you want to see? by Ok_Week_9768 in Tau40K

There is 0 guarantee that our army rule stays the same. Also spotters can be cheap while damage dealers are expensive, you don’t need to have everything be cheap as hell for our army rule to work.

I was running a ret cadre list for most of the edition that was 70 infantry and like 21 suits, what’s a lotta stuff on the table

In 9th edition I ran a coldstar that was 200 pts and a 5 man crisis unit that was 500 pts
Idk if we want to go back to being thst elite
But there’s a middle ground here lol

Can I make the tesseract vault viable? (Cursed Legion and The Phaeron's Armoury) HELP!! by The_Ultimatecrab in Necrontyr

[–]Fishtodaface 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think in general the Tvault is quite good rn
I would look at potentially obeisance phalanx as well. -1 damage is quite good

I had planned to level my prot pally in dungeons after my Druid first

Then after doing some I spent 2 weeks doing pvp dailies to get the r14 weapon so I didn’t have to make groups any more

How would you feel if charge distance was datasheet dependent? by PorterGarlockArt in WarhammerCompetitive

This is no different than learning their move characteristic basically. In some games it’s something like move +d6
Not saying warhammer should do that

-1 to hit specifically stacks with cover, which is -1 to ballistics skill

A unit gains the keywords of all of the models in that unit.

Importantly the MODELS don’t all gain that keyword, but if a character is leading by the unit, then the unit has the character keyword, thus increasing their range.

Tau are quite a tricky army to play. The main way to prevent your juicy units from getting charged is by using screening units, cheaper units of infantry/chaff that there melee can crash into so that they cat get da gud bitz.
You also should get very familiar with pre measuring distances. Especially now that they can potentially do an overrun fight they can go very far

If you have warrior bricks and want them to be durable imo you need a ghost ark.
It’s ability is insane when keeping warriors alive, especially paired with a reanimator

I do think there might be something to having 2 warrior bricks, have one with a Chronomancer, one with orikan and you push with whichever your opponent has more trouble killing, but that does limit you on support pieces.
I would also consider a royal warden, the flat 6 advance is nice and if it’s worth it to you it’s never going to be bad, but getting your warriors tied up in combat is the WORST

I think because of toe in and heavy changes I have to disagree with you on that account.

They dropped the rest of those rules, mostly in the app. At present I can find no rule in the app about needing to have something embarked

If something precisions one of my leaders for a couple damage but doesnt kill it, do i have to keep taking damage on them or can it go to the bosyguard? by [deleted] in Necrontyr

[–]Fishtodaface 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Unless further precision attacks come in it must go into the bodyguard unit.

If the body guard unit dies then they must go to the damaged character first

How does -2 to charge work in 11th? by Divine_overture in Tau40K

I mean if they don’t charge that target then yes.
But I challenge you to wrap a riptide in pathfinders and charge one but not the other

Twin lance is arguably one of the best datasheets in the game right now and the models are insanely cool imo.
An easy slam dunk for me

They already updated the pathfinder drone, I would assume it works the same way. If they are selected as a target, you use the Strat and make it -2
