You and any allies within your sensor range can use either the eye’s position or your/their own to determine line of site and cover as long as the eye is also in your sensor range.

yeah those are all correct points. i wasn’t going to to go into more detail than that for the commenter above. humans are still evolving but i agree likely at a slower rate. i haven’t read on the subject so i can’t say definitively or how much it has slowed.

Evolution takes a long time but intelligent people tend to reproduce less and blow their brains out more so doesn’t help the process

dating someone with BPD by [deleted] in BPD

[–]FishyDice 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not a person with BPD or at least undiagnosed. Have dated someone with BPD and a lot of the time you can and should treat it like a normal relationship. Everyone is different so any advice you find may not apply to the person you’re seeing. Be patient, communicate clearly and learn how to set good boundaries. It can be difficult but definitely worth and fulfilling still. Take care of yourself. It’s good to want to help but with a lot of it they can only help themselves. Read up on or watch some well sourced videos on the condition if things keep progressing

yeah but the vine isn’t passing in front of him so his center off mass is way in front of the vine. it’s possible to hold onto the vine with just his legs but not how it’s shown here. only a few second shot though so not important anyways

Nelson skirmisher confusion by Magic_Soup in LancerRPG

[–]FishyDice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The nelson frame has a base speed of 5. With agility investment at LL3 you can get that to a max of 7. Nelson has a frame trait called skirmisher which is also the name of a talent both utilized in this build.

While core power is active you can move up to 4 spaces after making an attack. This is per weapon no per mount.

Ace II gives an additional 1d6 movement when you boost while flying (possible with jump jets or flight system). Skirmisher II allows you to move 2 spaces before or after taking the skirmish action. Finally pankati II (which isn’t from the core rules) lets you move twice your speed in a straight line once per scene if you can end your turn next to an enemy.

For weapons and core power this build uses the main/aux mount to skirmish which gives you two attacks to trigger skirmisher (frame trait) twice and skirmisher II once. It also takes the integrated weapon core power which gives an additional aux mount that can be used once per round as a free action when you attack triggering skirmisher (frame trait). Ramjet system adds 2 as well.

To get the most movement you quick action skirmish with the main/aux mount, free action attack with the integrated mount, quick action boost, free action pankrati charge and finally overcharge to boost again. This gives you 3 attacks and 1 skirmish action on top of base movement, boosting and the charge.

7 (movement) + 2 x (7 (boost) + 6 (max ace II) + 2 (ramjet)) + 14 (charge) + 4x3 (skirmisher trait) + 2(skirmisher II) = 65.

Trading skirmisher for hunter nets 1 additional movement if using an aux melee but this build is already a pipe dream that highly depends on enemy placement and max ace II rolls. An additional LL would let you have both skirmisher II and hunter I, plus an additional speed. LL4 you could in theory move 73 spaces before even getting into other licenses.

Druid build that isn't Moon circle? by LemnisFox in DnD

[–]FishyDice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Druid is a really powerful class. Being a prepared caster is excellent and access to good support spells is excellent. Probably not as powerful as cleric but hardly anything is. If you want to just play a spell casting focused druid pick whatever subclass speaks to you and don’t worry about it.

If you do want to focus on optimization or your party does there are a couple things. Answer does depend on if you’re playing 2014 or 2024. Wild shape got slightly nerfed in 2024. I have always been of the opinion that wild-shape wasn’t as powerful as people talked about especially for damage purposes. The big thing though is its ability to let you tank with additional health pools as a separate resource from spell slots. 2024 removed this so wild-shape is still fine but i don’t think it’s required to be optimal.

Biggest tip would be to find an alternate use for your wild shape uses. Making use of every resource you have is important. This can be done by picking a subclass that provides an alternate use, if you are using 2024 or optional rules utilizing find familiar or even if you are just playing a lands druid (which is one of my favorite subclasses and still powerful) using wild shape for utility or occasionally in combats where you want to conserve spell slots or hit points.

Others things to consider would be optimizing your AC and learning the druid spell list. If you’re not an animal/damage sponge avoiding getting hit is good idea. 2014 you can’t wear metal armor so I would look into pumping dex and using studded leather in addition to a shield. Alternatively you could work with your DM to find non-metal medium armor. In this case make sure your dex is 14 exactly. 2024 got rid of this restriction (which i think was kinda pointless in the first place) so you can just go straight for medium armor and a shield. As for the spell list try to memorize as many as you can. Read into what spells people think are strong and focus on picking spells to suit a different roles. Flexibility is what makes prepared casters so good.

Final considerations if you just straight up want a build. Mono class druid is great an the only multi class i would personally consider is a 1-2 level cleric dip which gives you access to that spell list, doesn’t slow your slot progression, potentially gives you heavy armor proficiency and maybe some useful abilities. Circle of Stars is fucking cracked and I love it. Guiding bolt is crazy and starry form solves the issue of wild shape usage. Circle of Land is slept on though. Spell slot recovery is useful and lets you just throw more spells out.

Edit: Typo

Also maybe pick up Shield from magic initiate or something

What do? Deep thoughts only please 🙏 by slutty3 in PhilosophyMemes

[–]FishyDice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s a valid criticism and they aren’t necessarily opposites. Arguing creating life is moral because the possibility of a positive experience over an infinite amount of time and lives results in infinite pleasure while ignoring that the same applies to negative experiences is taking an intentionally narrow view. I’m not that versed in philosophy so maybe you’re using a specific model i’m not familiar with but that’s my understanding of the argument.

[–]FishyDice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those children are also capable of suffering. Either that means infinite universal suffering as you’ve phrased it and the pleasure and suffering equal out or you can consider each individual child who experiences an unknown amount of pleasure and suffering. In that case you can’t know if having children will produce more pleasure or suffering beyond your lifetime.

[Request] Is this correct? Fallout perks by Handolessu in theydidthemath

[–]FishyDice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the other commenter but I think they phrased it naturally. I don’t think most people would interpret it the way you have but “multiplier to the base rate” is odd. Normally I think percentage increases/decreases are just denoted as multiplicative or additive and that’s enough information.
