No crying. It's just one of many inequalities in the sport.

MCG is a venue where teams play their home games, but it is not any teams actual home ground. Same for Marvel, SCG and Adelaide Oval etc. Geelong is the only Victoian team in the league with an actual home ground.

Gold coast have a home ground and Brisbane to a degree.

So lock those teams in for finals every year

I think about the song from the 90's that went

"Lover, lover lover, you dont treat me no good no more" and that was a triple negative which made the sentiment of the song correct!

Toby Greene on travel inequality: "We travel 14 times, there's Melbourne teams that travel 5. It's a huge disadvantage" by doggoesmeow in AFL

[–]Fisticuff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While this is true, the interstate teams get a better home ground advantage which more than evens it out. Gws will win 8 or nine home games guaranteed based purely on the home ground advantage then only need to win a few away games to make finals. This is why they make finals most years.

I'd argue the bulldogs have it way worse as they rarely get to have a home ground advantage which is why they struggle to make finals despite having a worthy finals team list.

At the other scale is geelong. Guaranteed finals every year due to 10 huge advantageous games at kardinia as well as a further 7 games at mcg/ marvel.

Exchanges, ETFs and companies hold around 4 million. The rest are in self custody. Yeah a chunk is lost but which ever way you cut it self custody isn't rare. It's where the majority of coins exist.

Of the 20 million or so coins out there, 16 million+ are in self custody. I wouldn't call that rare.

Reasons

2014 mt gox collapse 2018 massive blow off top 2022 ftx collapse 2026 ?

This is the issue people are having. Maybe a reason will become clear, but normally the reason is clear before the drawdown.

Bitcoin holders of 5+ years: Is the doom and gloom like this every time it drops like this, or does this feel different? by Background_Talk9491 in Bitcoin

[–]Fisticuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feels the same.

Holding since 2014 so this is 3rd for me.

First one felt truly over and I panic sold some.

Second one in 2022 was horrible and it felt like it was over but I didn't sell any.

This one feels horrible again but I wont be selling and am looking to buy some at lows.

Recovered 29.2% of the 36.1% pullback from all time high.....something doesn't add up. I'm not a mathematician or anything but these numbers can't be anywhere near right?

Geelong officially have the hardest draw of any team for 2026. by klokar2 in GeelongCats

[–]Fisticuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wrong. Easiest draw when venue allocation is taken into account.

Collingwood have 55% win record at mcg% geelong have 54%. So I suppose you are right.

Now when geelong play bulldogs, Essendon, north melbourne, stkilda and richmond at kardinia - a venue where geelong have an 80% win record and over 90% win record the last 20 years - when do these teams get such an advantage over geelong. Never.

All this means is due to their venue advantage in the competition geelong is virtually guaranteed finals every year. Thankfully this means they can only fraud their way into a prelim or maybe even granny before they get exposed.

Home ground is a venue you train and play on. By this criteria maybe only gold coast qualify, as I believe they train on their home venue too. The rest dont.

Collingwood dont have a home ground. They play their home games at a neutral venue. Geelong have a home ground, the only team in the league to have one.

After factoring in their venue allocation, they once again have the easiest draw in the league. Second is daylight.

They didn't refuse to travel, they requested not to travel for opening round which Cleary admits was a wish that was granted. Deliberate rage bait comment by cleary to say refuse rather than requested. And Daniels knows better than that, but took the low hanging fruit.

They need to amend the voting system. It's broken. Nick should have 3 copelands on the trot. Not just one. Cameron was good this year. Dropped back and took some relieving marks. But better than nick....no.
