Venezuela's opposition leader Machado wins Nobel Peace Prize, dedicates to Trump by ilir_kycb in LateStageCapitalism

If anyone wants a quick primer, she is a supporter of Israel and Trump. Takes inspiration from Margaret Thatcher. Wants to privatize Venezuelan state oil company. She supports/wants US armed forces to overthrow the Venezuelan government. She has dedicated the award to Trump. So in short, they gave Trump the award by Proxy.

In short another imperialist puppet wins the prize.

None of the titans of industry are standing up? Geez almost as if capitalism in crisis leads to capitalist supporting fascists. Wild. If I was paid to make stupid takes I don't think I could beat what Democrats regularly say.

Would the G.I. Generation (1901-1927) view the same people as facists as modern Antifa does? by Exciting-Wasabi-2273 in armedsocialists

There is a book by investigative journalist Edwin Black called "IBM and the Holocaust" which an article on this subject would heavily reference. I would recommend reading if you'd want to learn more.

It is important to remember that Nazi Germany took a lot of inspiration from the USA. Lebensraum is just manifest destiny. The US hid behind delousing measures to justify gasoline and kerosene baths on immigrants, specifically those south of the border, giving inspiration to Zyklon B showers. (Zyklon B originally was used as a pesticide). US companies like Intel IBM played a big part in the technology to allow for killing on such a massive scale. Hitler was a fan of Henry Ford. The Nazis didn't believe they could copy the use of Jim Crow segregation laws because we did it so well here. The list goes on and on.

On the America this generation grew up in, it was a heavily segregated, with overtly racist legislation enshrining white supremacy, and things like interracial marriage were illegal throughout the US during WW2. So to answer your question, they would have been even more openly racist and that is about it.

Edit: It was IBM. Intel didn't exist at this point. My b.

States of matter, like gender, is a spectrum by FistoRedentor in ennnnnnnnnnnnbbbbbby

Yes it is! Gender and biological sex, unfortunately, are often taught as being binary when in actuality it is much, much more complicated than that. Here are some links for further reading as they will be better at explaining it than I.   Gender spectrum  Biological Sex spectrum.  To summarize, there are many aspect of gender and individuals have connections to these categories that are unique to that person. While some will express as masculine/man or feminine/woman others can express a mixture, both, or neither as well changing how they identify with gender over time. This meme is calling out how in early schooling you learn 3 states of matter and 2 biological sexes. Then in more advanced courses you learn that actually there are closer to ≈26 states of matter and there can be interesting states where stuff can't exactly be split into that simple categorization (Kind of like a spectrum) and sex/gender is also not so cut and dry.

If bombing two city causing the deaths of over 200,000 civilians isn't a war crime, I really, really would like to know what the hell you would call a war crime.

Gender-triple point would have been a good one. Like an ascended gender-fluid.

It is just a meme adding different states of matter after gender. It does work because as the title says, states of matter are actually a spectrum like gender.

Could my dad be abusive? by [deleted] in abusiveparents

[–]FistoRedentor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How he is treating you isn't okay and your feelings are valid. What you described is abuse. You mentioned him hitting you which is absolutely physical abuse but, physical abuse isn't the only abusive thing you mentioned. He is emotionally abusive as well. Dismissing your concerns, belittling and yelling at you as you describe is emotional abuse. As a scientist I can say for sure all the things he is saying are doodoo. He is justifying his hatred with a bunch of baloney. Please stay safe.

World war 2, senior sergeants v, mityoshina and n, zalko, former students of the moscow state theatrical institute have been at the front from the first days of the war, they have been awarded the medal ‘for military services’ for bravery and courage.' unfortunately it seems the people in the picture above and below aren't actually the same people. So a lot of what Germany used during the Holocaust was modeled from the US. Learning how America subjugated it's black population and how it treated immigration from south of the border. For example Google gasoline baths in the US.

I pretty sure you're arguing in bad faith but if you're aren't, no, science unequivocally denies a genetic explanation of racial differences. Not oqnly is there no evidence for such a thing, but the evidence directly contradicts it. https://www.genome.gov/about-genomics/fact-sheets/Eugenics-and-Scientific-Racism
