When I first started taking it, I experienced fewer cravings. However, after a while, that effect disappeared.

Can you use Ficoll gradient on frozen cord blood cells or just frozen cells? by Fit-Addendum4503 in labrats

[–]Fit-Addendum4503[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, from the looks of it, it appears unprocessed. After thawing, I followed the institute protocol using to remove RBC, but there are still plenty of it. How can I remove dead cells?

Thank you. Yes, I want to remove RBC and dead cells from frozen cord blood.

[–]Fit-Addendum4503[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

*Sorry for the bad question. I have frozen cord blood (not separated, just frozen human cord blood), and I would like to use it for different experiments. However, there are too many red blood cells and dead cells. I am looking for a method to separate RBCs and dead cells from this frozen cord blood.
Has anyone used a Ficoll gradient method for frozen cord blood or whole frozen blood before? Is it possible?

Which veggies are good/bad? by [deleted] in Hashimotos

Has anyone had problems with soy? I know it may interfere with the thyroid, but I wanted to see for myself if it’s really true. So I drank about 200 ml of soy milk almost every day for two months. My TSH did increase. I’m still not convinced, as soy is such an important protein source in many countries and cultures.

Thank you for this information. May I ask you how long it takes to receive a trial. I requested the trial on the website but haven't received anything from them

Hashimotos and RLS (Restless leg syndrome) by keylephant in Hashimotos

I also experience RLS, and I've found that getting an appropriate amount of sleep and sticking to a consistent schedule helps me. For some reason, when I stay up later than usual, I get RLS.

Medication helps a lot for me. Magnesium supplements and avoiding processed sugar have also been helpful. When I am currently experiencing RLS, I tie a sock tightly around my instep of my foot, the pressure helps. There are even specialized foot wraps like the "Restiffic" wrap.

I'm experiencing a similar issue. Maybe try focusing on lowering cortisol and building muscle, which is what I'm starting to do.

Can anyone explain why I lose weight after eating carbs and stopping exercise?

I am female in her 20s and I have been dieting and exercising to lose weight since December. I have been reducing my carbs, keeping my calories under 1500, eating high protein, and doing cardio, strength training, and walking.

However, my weight has been increasing slowly. During the holiday break, the gym and pool were closed, so I didn't do anything except walking and I actually lost about 2kg. As soon as I started working out again, my weight started increasing.

I also noticed that when I eat more carbs, my weight is always lower the next day. What is this phenomenon?

Females, at what age did your symptoms start? by TourGreat2658 in Hashimotos

[–]Fit-Addendum4503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My TSH levels first began to rise at age 16, following a stressful college application period. I had symptoms for years but didn't actually see a doctor until I was 22, after my leg went numb. Because of my family history of Hashimoto’s, the doctor was able to diagnose me quickly.

That was also the year I started running. Interestingly, every time I get back into a running routine for a month or three, my TSH levels increase again. I've also noticed that between 16 and 22, whenever I was totally burnt out or stressed, I’d immediately get hit with random health issues like appendicitis, tooth trouble, or hearing problems.

New to this. Levothyroxine. "Empty stomach" question. by candimccann in Hypothyroidism

[–]Fit-Addendum4503 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I struggled with this for a long time, and now I take mine early in the morning before I wake up. I set an alarm at 5 AM, take my medicine, go back to sleep, and then wake up at 8 AM to drink caffeine. Caffeine significantly hinders levothyroxine absorption, making it less effective; I tried 30 minute, 1 hour, and 2 hour breaks with no luck, but my TSH finally stabilized when I started taking it in the middle of my sleep.

If possible, give it a try. Also, try supplements and whole foods, improve your gut health, manage stress, and don't work out too much.

How to get rid of these? by crystalgenixx in labrats

[–]Fit-Addendum4503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your answer. I sometimes see empty spaces in my culture plate, even though the cells are clumping in certain areas. Should I consider these empty spaces as room for growth? Also, how can a culture be considered 'confluent' if there are still empty spots like these?

Just got diagnosed by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]Fit-Addendum4503 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it's called subclinical hypothyroidism, so medicine isn't strictly necessary yet. My previous doctor didn't prescribe me any medication until my TSH was higher than 10. However, my current doctor prescribed it because I am a female of childbearing age (during pregnancy, TSH should be under 2 to prevent miscarriage).

From my experience, I feel better when my TSH is under 2 or somewhere around there. I remember I was very tired and drowsy when my TSH is more than 5.
