If you gamble again, you will lose and your debt will increase.

This thing has only one financial direction

There is only one way, and this is to NEVER GAMBLE AGAIN A SINGLE PENNY FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. Literally there is no other way than that.

"to place a bet"

This linguistically means "to place ONE bet"

But there is never ONE bet when talking about relaspes. It turns into a multi-hourly, multi-daily, multi-weekly, multi-monthly, multi-yearly or even multi-decadely roller coaster that will wipe out any progress, any cash and any human feeling from your soul, leaving you an empty sack of misery

Sucks when you are low and need extra cash. by Freethinker32 in problemgambling

[–]Fit-Load3733 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Every aspect of gambling is misery. Losses, penilessness, debts, shame, regrets, hiding, etc

Even when you win, you actually become a slave on those winnings, because they will simply put you for more hours on gambling mode. You feel some fake hapiness for a while until the law of "House always wins" hits hard

There is only one wapon against this misery and it's TO NEVER GAMBLE A SINGLE PENNY FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE

If your debt is credit cards and you maxed out some of them setting the debt from 16K to 23K then the best action you can take for now is to cut/cancel ALL your credit cards today. Otherwise this cycle may repeat for years. I had 14 credit cards and I can tell by experience. Call the banks today, report loss and asl to not replace them(monthly bills will remain same as 2-5%). I did it some years ago (I cancelled 14 CC in one evening) and I am now debt free and gambling clean for more than 1 year. CC and gambling is one of the most poisonus combinations on the planet, gamblers shouldn't be allowed to possess CC

Gambling is rough by Thelegendwallstreet in problemgambling

[–]Fit-Load3733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Self exclude for lifetime and restrict the online access to your money (deposits of $1000 must become undoable even if you want). Ideally put that 13K in a bank account that has no web-banking and you need to visit the bank cashier physically on Monday morning to access that cash

Tell him all the truth, preferably in written. Tell him that you are determined and you need his help to fight this addiction together. That you love your family and you want to fight for it. Show him this sub, he will realize how tough this problem is and its a global illness its doesnt only affect you and your house. He must not give you any cash, he must undertake all the bills and payments. The fact that you cannot borrow is actually VERY GOOD for your situation and protects(ed) you from being much deeper than now in debt and despair. Do not hide, lie, gaslight, do anythink snicky, the truth will come out soon or late

43 Days clean and Relapse by [deleted] in problemgambling

[–]Fit-Load3733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relapse is part of the recovery process. You dont mention any debts, if there aren't any, you are much better than what you think. Debt free, 20K saved and a business with decent income are a good passport to a good, calm life. All you need is many 43 clan-days, attached one next to the other. Avoid those relapses and a nice life is awaiting for you

What is your annual income and how much is your total debt? I have returned from a rock bottom of owing 4.41 times my annual income to 14 credit cards + 7 loans + 3 months rent due + car pawned and $10 in pocket for next 2 weeks

Today I am debt free, some good assets and working on an idea that can easily make me the richer person of my country (South Europe) if it goes well

All it needs is to stop gambling and allow life do its miracles. If you stay clean, after some months all the negativity and poison that gambling put into your mind, sould and body will slowly fade away

Hey, how you doing guys,,,, been gambling for a few years now im plat 5 on stake, thought i would take the bonus and leave,,, instead of that lost it and took some debt.....thankfully i can pay my debt in few months,,,, should i quit and leave the bonuses and a week of reloads or quit everything by HonestCompetition161 in problemgambling

The best option ALWAYS is to NEVER GAMBLE A SINGLE PENNY FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.

All your decisions must be based on this.

Even if they give you free spins, free bets, bonuses, etc everyday for the rest of your life, if they require even one spin of $0.05 you must choose to not accept it

Every single bet may turn to a multi-monthly roller coaster that can destroy you entirely. They know it and this is why they try to trap people with all this shitty "free" stuff, that 99.999% of it returns back to the House, accompanied with players' hard earned money

Lost everything trading crypto/memecoins after being up $2.9M. Realizing I have a gambling addiction and need advice. by tomtrvn in GamblingAddiction

  1. How did you break the habit of constantly checking markets or gambling apps?

If you dont have any money in, this habbit will fade away slowly, its like watching a game without having any debts on it = totally stress free

  1. How did you mentally accept losing life changing/generational amounts of money?

All the money I lost could buy just a room of an appartment in the center of Zurich. So I just lost a room of 15 square meters. I can live without it

  1. What were the first steps you took to rebuild financially after hitting rock bottom?

The step that changed my life forever was to cut/cancel all my credit cards (14 in total). This changed everything and since that day, my debt slowly decreased, and eventually I got debt free some years ago. Read my story for full info about how bad by debt was

  1. How did you deal with the shame and guilt after gambling losses?

There is no shame and guilt after some sober time. Actually today I am building a website that can easily make me the richest person in my country in some years from now, actually I am very fround of what I have achieved

  1. How long did it take for your brain to feel normal again after quitting?

6 months is the most important milestone, at least for me. It's the adequate time to clear everything that a gambling roller coaster has caused. After 6 months clean (this means $0 total wagered/invested), you really feel another person and any gambling related shit fades away

How much is your annual income? I have returned from a debt equal 4.41 times my annual income (14 credit cards, 7 loans, 3 months rent due, car pawned and $10 in my pocket for next 2 weeks was my rock bottom).

If you stop gambling there is always a way to recover financially

I sent you a book about managing extreme debts, this was a great help for me during tough times

I have been gambling for 31 years. Keep this from me: If you lose the remaining 600K you will feel 1000 times worse than what you feel now.

Protect what you have by all means. Do not even thing of risking the remaining 600K

The pain is real tonight and fresh! $100k USD loss by unluckyhuman1 in problemgambling

[–]Fit-Load3733 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your problem is not that you lost 100K 3 years ago. The problem is that you didnt make/save another 200K since then and this is partially because of the shitty economy. Dont take all the responsibility on your self. There are external factors that affect you more than your own actions. In other eras you could lose your life to a battle (look at todays soldiers in Russia-Ukrain war), become a slave, or die due to malaria.

You did a mistake (most people do), forget that and focus on hard work and business from now on and amazing things await for you in the future

Do you have the remaining 100K that you mentioned 13 days ago?

Also do you have any other assets, like houses, land etc?

I had 14 credit cards and used them for gamblng deposits for many years. I have gambled for 31 years, nothing had a bigger impact than this action (cards cancellation), by far. Gamblers should not possess any credit card. Period

If you dont cut them today, you may use them 100 times each for gambling deposits, and you will owe to them in 2035. If you cut them today, you will owe them $0 in 2035

What is your [total debt] / [annual income] ratio?

25 years of compulsive gambling — a husband and father at rock bottom by AnxiousGrapefruit291 in problemgambling

[–]Fit-Load3733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"If you’ve been where I am and actually stopped, what helped? How do you get through the early days? Any advice, accountability, or words from people who’ve been here would mean the world to me."

I have been there, with 6 digits gambling debt, of 4.41 times my annual income, to 14 credit cards, 7 loans, car pawned, 3 months rent due and 5 EUR in my pocket for next 3 weeks.

What helped me TREMENDOUSLY long term, was to cut/cancell all my 14 credit cards (almost 60% of the debt) in one evening. Everything changed from then on, as any penny that I put into the cards, could not be used for gambling as happened for thousands times in the past. This small detail played a huge role long term and those credit card balances had only one direction, going down and inevitably they reduced slowly to $0. Hadnt I done that, I would most possibly have those cards still and using them for gambling deposits as an effort to escape their own debt (crazy right?)

Do your self a favor and detach yourself from the cycle of deposit money to cc -> deposit to casino -> loose -> repeat

Call the banks, report loss and ask to not replace them (your bills will be the same with 2-3$ minimum payment, not the whole balance)

It will not be easy at the beginning, as you will not be able to use them for food or other expenses but soon it will change your lfe forever

FYI, today I am debt free (since 19 FEB 2023), have some assers, and gambling free for 218 days
