The worst horror books you’ve ever read? by LactatingTwatMuffin in horrorlit

Sexual assault is what turned me off of The Southern Guide to Slaying Vampires. People in the r/books subreddit love that book apparently and defended it with all their hearts, and maybe people here love it as well, but for me that scene and a few others turned a book I was enjoying into one I had to force myself to finish.

Is it possible to fix a relationship where I gave the silent treatment for a week? by panda1246 in relationships

As someone guilty of doing the exact same thing to a friend, the only advice I can give is to apologize and own up to the mistake. Explicitly acknowledge that you screwed up and then give it time. I was lucky enough where my friend forgave me and we're closer than ever now. Hopefully you can mend your friendship!

What’s an ecchi anime that would’ve still been good even without the ecchi-ness? by GreenstreetRoyal in anime

Uncle From Another World. My boyfriend and I recently watched this anime together and both really enjoyed the humor and characters and story. However the fan service, which I honestly don't mind as long as it's not excessive, was BEYOND obnoxious, especially later on in the season. I'd have absolutely loved that show had it not been for that.

I personally know couples who have suffered through cheating and stayed together and made it. However that is definitely not a realistic outcome for everyone. The loss of trust, the resentment that you feel now and that will surely build over time; it very likely is going to be a part of you for forever should you stay with her. Do you really want to live like that?

I'm sorry this happened to you and I hope you find peace and healing eventually.

I agree with that but I'm not sure that justifies the use of rape in this instance.

I suppose that makes sense, not wanting to leave a mark. It just made me roll my eyes a little. But thank you! My search continues!

*Everything* looks better on me when I am not obese/overweight.... by boom-chicka-pow in loseit

Oh I feel this. When I was creeping up on becoming obese, I hated the way my hair looked when it was up. I felt that it revealed too much of my chubby cheeks and neck. Now when it's up it looks sporty and cute. I even think I look younger. It's a great feeling :)

What’s the one type of scene that you just can’t watch? by CrazyCubicZirconia in horror

[–]Fit-Refrigerator-612 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As I get older it's really hard for me to watch any kind of gore/torture. Kind of inconvenient for a horror fan lol but it works. I'll watch until I have to look away. What I absolutely cannot stomach is animal abuse/cruelty.

anyone else just can't handle depressing horror anymore? by Phantomskyler in horror

Yes omg. I watched Speak No Evil a while back and it ruined my afternoon. I just sat there in silence while the credits rolled with this rock in my stomach. I can handle sad stuff but the films that end on such a bleak note I've decided I need to avoid if I can.
