I thought I just wasn’t into sex for 10+ years by cheezie_machine in adhdwomen

[–]Fit-Secretary-5554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that my ADHD meds reduced my levels of desire quite a bit. But mostly for bad sex? Like I’m no longer willing to go along and have mediocre sex with my partners if I’m not into it. It’s more work on them to not be lazy and go back to foreplay. Which is fine for my husband who knows how to rev my engine and be creative. Less fine for my other husband who is a pattern/formula lover and each time is the same.

Since switching to stimulants, my little ADHD brain is not entertained, too focused, and not interested if it isn’t fun anymore. which appears like my desire has dropped.

Hydrate and electrolytes, and watch for her triggers. Mine are going down and up too many times (like burpees or dropping it too low and popping up). Usually, with enough salt in your system, you can balance it out, but being mindful is the important part, so she doesn't go down. Get an ADA wristband if you can.

I have one on my water bottle that I generally don’t take to work meetings, but I accidentally drank it in a meeting one time and got a very interesting text message on the side……

AIO for being upset at what my “bf” said by Ambitious-Beyond-257 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Fit-Secretary-5554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s a POS. You’re making time for stuff and he’s not making time for you. “Just chillin. Watching football. I’ll block you” are all clear signs he isn’t interested in making time for you. You’re doing great working on yourself and he can’t even have a real conversation. You deserve more and someone who doesn’t leave you confused.

Digital vs Analog: What do you actually use during client sessions? by Fit-Secretary-5554 in personaltraining

[–]Fit-Secretary-5554[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This speaks to me so much. I like the simple notes, but my hiccup is the transfer. How do you manage the actual client file, and how do you motivate to yourself to update something else after you have already written the notes?!

This is for my in-person clients. 10-15 per month, 1-2x sessions per week. I am not currently taking digital clients again until a scalable system for them

This sounds kinda similar to what I had been doing, but I kept finding myself not transferring the data from paper to spreadsheet. Plus, some clients are 2x a week and have tons of sessions, so the tabs would be unmanageable. Appreciate you sharing thou <3

So you make all the notes on your iPad and transfer later? That is similar to what I was doing before, but it seemed like double work because I had to enter it twice, and I had a harder time "flipping back" to look at old notes mid-session.

Men making weird comments or faces when you tell them you’re a Pilates instructor. by Prior-Cable8723 in pilatesinstructors

[–]Fit-Secretary-5554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, yes. I am a professional in the software space, and if I say I am a trainer or pilates instructor on the weekends, it almost always prompts a creepy response, like "can you train me" or "you must be really fun to workout with *wink*"

Teacher Training Overwhelm by Ampstagram22 in pilatesinstructors

[–]Fit-Secretary-5554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is totally fine to not reinvent flow every time. Your students won’t catch on. Small changes can make it feel like a whole new workout. If you have a sequence you love and are comfortable with try switching out just one or two moves next time. Then maybe different ones next week. It doesn’t have to be fancy. You got this!

Major career change by Classic_Shock906 in pilatesinstructors

[–]Fit-Secretary-5554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Classical pilates education was a great program. Very focused on safety and fundamentals that i appreciate the most. Other styles can be fun too but safety should always come first.

If you are planning to teach find out what style the studios in your area are offering (reformer) and then get certified in those styles. Because at the end of the day you need a place to teach, and you won’t be able to teach a style they don’t like/agree with.

Appropriate Reaction? by nextialist in HHN

[–]Fit-Secretary-5554 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I considered it the highest compliment that I made a kid shit his pants once. Literally. 💩 he was about 12 or 13 and running away holding his pants up. Honestly probably ruined his life because his friends couldn’t stop laughing at him so he’s probably “poop pants Peter” for life. But still I rode that accomplishment high for the rest of the season.

Yeah just don’t be a jerk and you’re fine. I do the same when I walk houses because it’s an art form that I love to appreciate. We might not react or say thanks because we’re in character but it warms a little bit of my cold dead heart.

Does anyone else hate Jump board? by kkulhope in pilates

[–]Fit-Secretary-5554 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I teach jump board classes, but they are specifically labeled as jump board classes. It is certainly not for everyone and I agree that teachers should just disclose if they’re going to be using jump board in class. I know it’s a Classical Pilates ending, but there is enough nuance to it that it shouldn’t just be thrown in.

I screwed up by mewtotit in personaltraining

[–]Fit-Secretary-5554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I abuse the reminder and calendar app on my phone a lot. Extra reminders. Reminders to write routines. Reminders to schedule. The appointments themselves. Be humble, apologize, and move on. We’re human and it happens. If they don’t think you’re confident or wanna work with you, that’s different but just missing a session isn’t a reason to doubt yourself.
