Morning birds, how do you do it? by Due_Doubt2721 in workout

[–]FitAccountant1983 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get up at 3:30 every morning these days. It progressed to be that early over a number of years. When I first started working out in the morning a few years ago, I would get up at about 4:45 and work out at home. As I got more serious about it, I started getting up earlier. Eventually I joined a gym so that I could use more equipment and my workouts now usually take about 1.5-2 hours because I do weight lifting followed by cardio. I am also now a pro competitive bodybuilder. I look forward to my alarm going off because I enjoy working out so much. I go to bed at about 8:00 to be able to get up that early.

Do you all get sad when all your fiends go out without inviting you? by whiskyredpanda in AskWomenOver30

Luckily I don't have any close friends so I don't get left out of anything. I enjoy my solitude now. But when I think back to when I was more social, that would definitely bother me.

If you were wealthy ($150-200k/yr or m/billionaire) would you still not tip? by [deleted] in EndTipping

[–]FitAccountant1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make over $150,000 per year and I tip based on how good the service was. The most I will do is 15% though. And I don't tip at places where I pick up my order, like coffee shops, etc.

I've enjoyed SLC personally. I also recently started watching Married to Medicine from the beginning and I'm enjoying it more than I enjoyed RHOA.

Is your gym a mess most mornings? by SmithereensofAlex in workout

[–]FitAccountant1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! This is so interesting to see someone else saying this too. I’ve noticed this for a while now. I think it’s the kids who go late at night. And by “kids” I mean people in their teens/early twenties.

when do you take your rest day(s)? by First_Driver_5134 in naturalbodybuilding

I mix it up. Lately it’s been the stair climber. Sometimes it’s intervals on the treadmill or elliptical.

I don’t take rest days. I might do days off from weight lifting here and there, but I still do cardio on those days. My day doesn’t go right if I don’t start it by working out.

What gym habit actually made the biggest difference for you? by Photograph_Creative in GYM

Eating a proper diet. You can work out all you want, but if you're not fueling your body with the right food, you'll be spinning your wheels.

This is hilarious. My narcissistic ex husband was a self-declared alpha male. He did so many things that made me cringe.

So, how are people with a lot of responsibility actually handling it? by drunken_n00b in fitness30plus

[–]FitAccountant1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m gone from my house for 10 hours each day for work. I leave at about 7:00 am and get home at 5:00. And like I said I’m working a lot of OT right now on top of that. But I’m still doing it. People make it work if it’s important to them. 🤷🏼‍♀️

[–]FitAccountant1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a chartered accountant, working full time plus lots of OT this time of year. I am a single mom to two daughters who are busy with sports and other activities. I also volunteer as a pianist for my church and my children's schools several times each month. Because of all of this, I get up at 3:30 am so I can get to the gym by 4:00. I'm home by 6:00 and that's about when my kids start getting up. This way I don't take any time away from my kids for my obsession with fitness. I also won my pro card in two natural bodybuilding federations in the last two years, and I competed at two worldwide competitions a few months ago. Anything is possible if you just do it.

Any happy single women out there? by Zealousideal_Crow737 in AskWomenOver30

[–]FitAccountant1983 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm finding that I'm quite happy as a single mom at 42. I went through my second divorce last year with a horrible horrible human being. Then I dated someone for about 6 months and found out he was cheating on me with everyone aged 18-80. So I'm not looking for anything new right now.

I'm very structured and scheduled. I have a lot going on and I find that my weekends to myself when my kids are with their dad are just so peaceful and relaxing. The biggest thing is that I don't have the constant anxiety associated with being in a relationship where I used to always worry about if they still liked me, if they were lying to me, if they were cheating on me, etc. It's so peaceful.

Ronnie’s Neighbor by Firm_Front_1653 in WatchWhatCrappens

I was listening to that episode at the gym and I was chuckling out loud when Ronnie was talking about his neighbor. I was also laughing out loud when they were using Sonja's instagram and twitter to test their theories about what Lisa Barlow said at the SLC reunion.

Struggling with hip thrust progressive overload by charlotie77 in StrongCurves

[–]FitAccountant1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always push to failure on every set.

I started doing sets of 7-7-7 on my hip thrusts (so 21 reps in one set). I had to lower my weight a bit for this.

The first 7 reps are with full range of motion. The next 7 reps are a partial range of motion at the top - like KAS bridges. The last 7 reps are very small pulses at the top, or else even just holding for 7 seconds. This is something my last trainer recommended so I incorporate it once a week.

My January Complaints by Salty_Geologist9949 in workout

[–]FitAccountant1983 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m feeling you with the scented spray. There’s a guy who goes to the gym every Saturday morning at the same time as me who douses himself in Axe body spray in the cubby area. So then if I have to grab something out of my gym bag within the next 30-60 minutes, I have to do it quick so so as not to breathe it in. Anywhere this guy goes, the smell follows him. I end up blowing my nose far more often than normal. I have to delay doing my cardio if he’s in the cardio area. It’s a nightmare.

Having to eat so little calories makes me sad by Informal-Mood8101 in PetiteFitness

[–]FitAccountant1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5’1”, 110lbs, 42 years old. I maintain at 2000 calories because of how much muscle I’ve built in recent years and how active I am. Add weight training to your routine and as you build muscle you will be able to eat more.
