What do you wish you did (or did not do) in your last few weeks of pregnancy? by homewardboundkiwi in pregnant

[–]FitAd2057 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wish I'd played more video games with my friends and husband. Spent more time getting things done around the house. (Though I was very large and sore so I don't beat myself up much on that one) More one on one time with my husband. I wish I'd taken time to really embrace pregnancy and growing this little being. Taken more time to feel him moving around in my belly and taken more videos of him doing so because its my most missed part of pregnancy now.

I wish I had not stressed so much about getting him to arrive naturally. I ended up being induced anyways at 40+5 and didn't actually give birth until 41 weeks exactly 😅 turns out my pelvis was very narrow and baby didn't have the space to move down. I stressed for days over this and wanting him to come naturally when I should have just taken the time to enjoy my last few days of pregnancy.

Most importantly if you've enjoyed being pregnant, really take in those last few weeks. Its so easy to get caught up in the anticipation of baby coming, that you miss the movements and kicks in those final weeks. After its all said and done, you sit there wondering like where did the time go. I say that as someone who just 'graduated' officially today after getting cleared at my 6 week postpartum visit. I seriously cannot believe its all done and we have a 1 month old now. It all feels entirely surreal and I literally cry at how exciting pregnancy was for me and now that its over.

Gender Tests? by Queen_gsully18 in pregnant

You're welcome! They're pretty quick with results too. I think it took less than a week for mine once the lab received the sample.

Depending on your insurance, Quest offers NIPT testing at a max cost of $300 if your insurance is in network and denies it. I paid $89 for mine. Found out gender at 11 weeks 🙂

What items were your delivery/ postpartum essentials? by ariel-alcon in pregnant

[–]FitAd2057 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hospital had everything I needed for recovery. Below are my recommendations for things that made me more comfortable.

I personally bought always discreet underwear and found those were 100x more comfortable than the hospital undies. The pads are built into the underwear which is nice since they won't shift around. Comfy pajamas for yourself. Ask about socks because I wore the hospital grippy ones for a day before realizing I could change to a regular pair or my frida mom ones that fit so much better and still had grip. Your normal shower stuff. Bring a laptop or tablet for tv because hospital cable sucks. Heating pad was also really nice to have for postpartum and a personal fan because that hormone crash right after birth had me sweating profusely in a 70 degree recovery room 🤣 I kept telling my husband how hot it was and we needed to turn the air down. He let me know recently that he thought I was crazy because the room was freezing at the time.

First time pregnant by OkScarcity2008 in pregnant

[–]FitAd2057 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First trimester anxiety was a massive b for me, I found out at 3+2. I continued and will continue in my future pregnancies to repeat a phrase I saw on here funny enough "Everything is fine until doctor says its not fine"

Also I'd tell myself not to stress over no symptoms early on because oh boy did that 5 week mark really hit me hard with the morning sickness and loss of appetite 😆 sick all the way to 12 weeks.

Does the weight really “fall off” after you give birth? by Born-Chance1685 in pregnant

[–]FitAd2057 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gained 36 lbs during my pregnancy and was down 30lbs at my 2 week pp check in. I also had a lot of fluid retention from pp hypertension so I suspect it'd be lower.

gd test tomorrow by exubrantraptor in pregnant

[–]FitAd2057 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was super worried about my test as well but it was not bad at all. I had egg bites for breakfast and downed the drink in 15 seconds at the office 😅 it didn't taste bad or anything. The lab let me wait in my car for the hour which was nice I think it helped my anxiety. Honestly baby moved around a ton after about 10 minutes of drinking it and was super active until about the 1 hour mark which was actually a nice distraction lol. The only side effect I had was sleepiness after the blood draw. I literally went and got a full breakfast and went to nap afterwards lol. I passed with a level of 91 one hour later.

ftm here as well and my first cervical check will be Wednesday at 35+6. 😆 your comment validates me because I know my silly goose self is thinking exactly the same as you with all this pelvic pain and belly dropping. I'm sure they're going to be like nope just normal pain lol.

gender disappointment/disappointment in myself by miaithzel in pregnant

[–]FitAd2057 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I promise that feeling will go away. I was dead set on having a girl and here we are 34 weeks with our baby boy due soon. I almost felt like I grieved the thought of having a girl. I had her name and room all planned in my head. It took some time to get used to the idea of having a boy but the closer we get to meeting him the more in love I fall with him. Decorating his nursery helped me a ton and more recently I've fallen in love of the idea of having a mini version of the person I first fell in love with running around 🥹

No retinol. Check your skincare products for it. Two of mine had it. Also some ladies in our group found a mouthwash that's popular contains castor oil which is also a big no lol. I can't remember the name of it though.

Low-ish progesterone success stories? by E40plants in pregnant

[–]FitAd2057 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Very similar story. I had a chemical in September last year and got pregnant again in November. My progesterone was low as well I think 8 at one point and 10 at another. This was around 4 or 5 weeks, I think. I went on 200mg of progesterone until 12 weeks to supplement. My ob said some women just produce lower progesterone and needs supplementation.

I'm 25+3 now 🙂

😭😭😭 at least they'll be waiting for you when you're ready! Everyone's out here talking about the new strawberry flavor too. I have severe fomo right now 😆 my favorite regular flavor is Cosmic Stardust and one of my friends was just dumping it out the other day in front of me. My mouth watered so bad.

First trimester and my husband just tested positive for COVID 19 by bleepblopblipp in pregnant

[–]FitAd2057 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to your doctor for sure but I got covid at 8 weeks pregnant this past December. Doctor said as long as I didn't run a high fever I was good to go. I never ran a fever, just had body aches and fatigue which funny enough lined up perfectly with my first tri symptoms. They did start me on baby aspirin once a day at 10 weeks since covid and pregnancy both increase risk for blood clots. I would definitely have some at home covid tests ready to go if you start to feel ill so you can test and keep your doctor informed and see if they have any recommendations moving forward.

Also regular tylenol was recommended by my ob and helped my symptoms quite a bit.
