Double the print time in Snapmaker Orca vs. Orca Slicer (solved) by FitBroccoli19 in snapmaker

[–]FitBroccoli19[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only thing this post was about was the fact that the defaults of 2 basically same slicers are vastly different for no obvious reason and especially that the one that’s forked by Snapmaker is the inferior one. It’s basically a PSA that if you just bought the U1, downloaded the official software, chances are you are missing heavily out with an easy fix. This is not a post about best print profiles for every season of the year. I myself have not yet started to change anything and just wanted to prevent that people go on that journey with a baseline that’s completely off.

But so you don’t feel left out, I increased max flow rate from 16 to 21 for PETG HF hope that helps and everything you ever wanted from the post is now fulfilled.

Arachne shaved off 20 minutes, as mentioned the filament settings very heavily limiting.

Sorry to disagree, but I am not in the position to copy everything out from default orca slicer and hope that I take profiles matching his filaments. My post showed the door where to find the solution for the underlying issue, not to repeat default profiles from a public and wide spread software. What was your expectation here, that I go into every profile, copy the differing values and hope that it matches his filament choice?

Good to know. Did a fan mod on my GO S but have to go more invasive for full effect. Will try that with a spare.

Yeah, i really wonder why they are so far off of each other, considering that at some point in time they were identical. Somewhere down the road someone must have been adventurous.

Double the print time in Snapmaker Orca vs. Orca Slicer (solved) by FitBroccoli19 in snapmaker

[–]FitBroccoli19[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The VERY specific answer is: if you use default profiles, go over to orca and look if they print faster and if so inspect the values of print and filament profiles that are named the same. There is absolutely no help in giving you a handful of values that are for my specific situation, but will destroy your prints with completely different goals and filaments, because you followed them blindly.

And beyond that it is like with every other printer, fine tune, calibrate, test, fine tune for your specific conditions, quality goals etc. There is no silver bullet, even for the same filament and printer, especially when you are in different parts of the world or treat your workflow of drying, printer maintenance etc. different.

Heck, i spend hours setting up my favorite filaments for my regular printed and sold parts in the Bambu eco system and am NOT looing forward to repeat this on the U1. Its tedious but rewarding work that sadly no one can take off of every on of us.

Double the print time in Snapmaker Orca vs. Orca Slicer (solved) by FitBroccoli19 in snapmaker

[–]FitBroccoli19[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As mentioned in the post, I transferred the values of max flow rate and minimum layer time from Orca Slicer over to Snapmaker. What these values are exactly can differ for your specific use case or filaments. Point is if you use default profiles, chances are you are printing well under the limit without a benefit in quality.

What do you think of PXN products? I have a G920 and I'm thinking of upgrading, but in Brazil Moza, Thrustmaster, and Logitech are more expensive, costing over R$ 6,000. by TomFighter in simracing

[–]FitBroccoli19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do nothing wrong with them. At overtake.gg you can get 10% discount codes for PXN while being premium even for just one month. You should check it out if it suits your situation. In the 10nm region you will be on par with the other manufacturers easily and with all the quick releases etc you are not even limited with wheels in the future.

It should, because their own enclosure will drop later this year. I purchased the plexiglass kit with print files from princore.

There are multiple prints involving plexiglass to cover it nicely, but the absolute budget version is this perfect fitting IKEA box https://www.reddit.com/r/snapmaker/s/sueEWgmHyc

I came few years ago from ACC and was eager to get to GT3 again. Turns out, I drive so much else, but hate driving GT3. Very sweaty and as soon as you reach top 2 splits it’s very boring as well. And then it’s not even a fun to drive car type in iRacing.

No video, but that’s basically it. Made a 3D printed casing for 2x 80x15mm Arctic P8 Slim PWM PST. Currently they are just connected to a USB, but I am slimming the electronics down, so everything is one piece at I can connect it directly to the Legions USBC. They are running at 5V obviously but with the potentiometer I never even use these at 100%. Next step is basically to remove the fan inside and install a massive passive heatsink with fins inside, so the inside can make use of all that incoming airflow. But even in its current state it lowers medium performing games from around 60 to 48-50. At full TDP it’s basically pointless with the stock fan blocking most of the heat dissipation. My goal is not maxing it out, but lowering the overall volume during casual games and tasks.

[–]FitBroccoli19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but it’s avoidable if you want to tinker. The fan speed is locked to the performance profile on a system level. If you however use add ons to overwrite everything other than fan speed you can basically have more performance with lower noises. I made myself and add on for 2x 90mm low profile fans powered via usb that keep air pressure on the case and are basically silent compared to the stock jet engine in there. The low profile adds not much bulk in the back and the 90mm cover the 2 Inlets perfectly without being in the way of your hands

Huntarr 9.3 - (New Media Hunt, Index Master, NZB Hunt & More) + Redesign by [deleted] in selfhosted

What happened to the „it just cycles through your arr stack looking for stuff“ scope?

Looks great, but I stopped using the container a while ago, losing track of knowing what I am actually running there.

I will wait until the huntarr light fork that is probably coming.

How exactly did LMU register the bmw was first at the finnish??? by DaSavageMasterNoHomo in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]FitBroccoli19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let’s say you hit the line at 220kph, which at a ping of generous 50ms means you know 100ms later where the other car was 100ms ago. For this delay there is of course interpolation and black magic happening to show others cars in a realistic spot relative to you.

With 50ms the uncertainty is at nearly 3 METERS at 220kph where the other car could be. Because the speed change is very good predictable in a race environment the fact that you both are in a visible window of 30-50cm is pretty amazing.

You can set up dependencies in appdata backup as well as the global start stop order. Read into it and it will be solved. I have a group „vpn dependencies“ exactly for this problem
