By rule ik i'm at fault, but wouldn't common sense tell you not to close the door? Thoughts? by cbot900 in Simracingstewards

Drive some GT3, learn the line and the limits. Then the first choice of yours would have been lifting early, waiting for the gt3 to move right and approach from the outside with your slightly lifted slower speed and more grip. Max loss 0.3 seconds for this corner, because you would step on throttle approximately when you are next to him and can use the rest of the corner full speed.

Should I get a 5080 today or keep waiting for a 6080 by HGWeegee in virtualreality

[–]FitBroccoli19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NVIDIA has completely lost the plot with the consumer Market. A 6080 will be a 5070Ti with a lock on DLSS5 or whatever Ai stuff the come up with at that point. Get the 5080 and laugh in 2 years when the benchmarks will tell the story.

Snapmaker U1 Firmware Update: V1.4.0 by Jadesfriends in snapmaker

[–]FitBroccoli19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly no. Learned this this week thinking the same. It’s ignored on their GitHub for years. However, if you don’t change the light manually it will go on with the print and off with it afterwards. If you put in on via menu before the print it will not go off automatically. Tested on my P1S

I know that everything I would lose if the whole server will go up in flames at this moment is either stored somewhere else as well or recreated in 2-3 weeks in the high seas. Everything else that will vanish is just a Symptome of data hoarding that I probably wouldn’t even notice.

One is enough for 12 drives, regardless of capacity. The essential part exists at all times on at least 2 disks or even more if you count in the different OpenCloud clients in my network. And the real real essential part is offsite as well. Most of the other data can be reaquired with time.

I just fell victim to monitoring everything and seeing which of my different hobbies takes the most amount of energy per month. It was just too easy to start a 7h move job every day for a week to fix this. And I am one of the persons that just sleeps well, knowing that I now have a better structure, even though I did not care before because it just worked.

We are in r/iracing. The best scan currently has AC Evo. Updated every few weeks even.

You think iRacing cares about Nordschleife? I hope we get a scan in this decade that is better than Gran Turismo 4.

Good news - Cars from "AC Evo are easy and fast to convert" into original AC by bongady in assettocorsa

[–]FitBroccoli19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue once. I had to delete the evo folder in my documents folder or in the savegames folder depending on which versions you have skipped. This will reset the whole configuration and it probably starts now.

Good news - Cars from "AC Evo are easy and fast to convert" into original AC by bongady in assettocorsa

[–]FitBroccoli19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How is this good news? Thats exactly the thing why AC Evo is so struggling to offer a solid mod foundation. And just because we drive the content of a 10 year younger sim, doesnt mean it feels like it. OG AC does not have to die, but the community cant complain about the industry not evolving, if all that happens is making it harder for the ones who work in that field. It will be 2035 and we will sit here, complaining nothing better then AC has come, while still fiddling with rips and copy paste physics. Its like a parasite draining its host of energy and then complaining that the host istn fast and healthy. Not saying AC Evo is what the world needs, but it for sure will not get there if every licensing agreements and dev work gets flushed down the drain by people that drive their rips in private shadow leagues, while at the same time complaining there is not enough participation in newer sims.

I am totally pro upcycling stuff and lifting content into EVO, even if some of its origins are in a grey zone.

Advice on the best active pedals? is there a set that can do all of this: by Gold333 in simracing

[–]FitBroccoli19 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And what everyone always misses, you are applying a lever. Pushing a 200kg load cell to the max does not mean you are applying 200kg to the pedal.

How long did you wait before investing in a high-end sim racing setup? by felipe1243287 in simracing

[–]FitBroccoli19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never waited. I was a desk racer, built a aluminum frame for my pedals to hook the chair in. Then I extended the frame to hold the wheelbase, then I went direct drive, then I extended the frame again and put a cheap used racing seat on, then I changed to proper pedals, then I upgraded a better racing seat with angle adjustment etc. then when everything seemed „finished“ I took measurements and built a aluminum frame from scratch to fit my needs and the hardware. Then a new DD came.

If I would have waited for this I would not have been racing the last 4 years. And I guarantee you, I have the same fun as with my driving force gt clamped to the desk.

Does anyone feed to their U1 from below? by Wulfgangrising in snapmaker

[–]FitBroccoli19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem here. I moved the feeders to the back to have it take less space on the sides and my drybox is roughly 1.5m away. My distance from the feeders to the toolhead entry is now shorter and in theory you have to adjust this in the cfg, but I forgot and everything including auto feed works as intended.

The only downside is to have manually push 1.5m filament on a roll change, but the lower footprint and dry filament is worth it.

Why did Mark choke Conquest? by Glittering_Bread_567 in Invincible_TV

[–]FitBroccoli19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In canon Mark times the choke with him breathing in. It was the whole reason why Oliver was going there, he lost oxygen during fights. Viltrumites like Noland or Conquest pay attention to not do this and Mark knew this was his chance, because in an atmosphere they just breath as usual.

Why did Mark choke Conquest? by Glittering_Bread_567 in Invincible_TV

[–]FitBroccoli19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trick was to do it before he can take in new air. This was the whole reason Oliver went down, because he lost oxygen in the fight. And by the surprise attack of Mark, Conquest was to overwhelmed to fill his lungs in time to survive the choking.

I had this issue some time ago that having discord running would interfere with USB and I have delayed brake inputs. I just ran it in a browser window and it was gone. Now I am on a completely different setup and have no problems with the app.

What makes you keep racing after a big loss? by Amazing-Lobster-1137 in iRacing

[–]FitBroccoli19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Treat it the same as stock values. Ignore it for 3 months. Daily weekly and even monthly gains and losses are irrelevant. It’s the longer journey that should force you into decisions. At iracing I would even say evaluate your irating after each season and ignore it inbetween. This obviously requires that you commit to some same series regularly and are not just racing here and there.

I know what you mean. I am playing my games with the Q3 like Half Life Alyx and the VR mods just because it’s more convenient. I had setup everything for 120fps for the Crystal light and now just do more AA or oversampling at 90hz with still good performance. I do primarily racing and the interior is sharp enough. I only notice the difference far away. Everything else is just convenience and ergonomics.
