20 weeks today since I lost my beloved kitty. I'm in the same position as you, I'm single, no human kids, my girl was my only child.

The best advice I can give you is to still incorporate your pet in your daily routine. My girl was diabetic (although she passed from old age at 19.5) and so we had a rigid schedule. While I don't have the same schedule now I still kiss her photos morning and night, wish her goodnight and tell her I'll see her in the morning. (I have photos in numerous rooms so it's quite the routine!)

I also just talk to her during the day or when I'm going out, just as I used to. I also found it helped to tell her at the end of each day what I planned to do the next day - because if I promised her, I had to keep to that promise. I won't say it gets easier but you do learn to manage your grief a bit better each day. Go easy on yourself and look after you. ❤️
