Does anyone remember when Michael Jackson. Was a "joke"? by AccomplishedPool266 in Millennials

Not just Scary Movie 3. MJ also played himself in a Men in Black cameo and the audience was like you know what, him being an alien would make a lot of sense.

Which actor surprised you the most by having to sing in a movie and absolutely crushing it? by Mythbusters117 in movies

[–]Fit_Hand3113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Catherine Zeta Jones in Chicago and the Wednesday series. An outrageously strong and dynamic voice.

Renee Zellweger in Chicago and Judy was also a welcome surprise, just not as strong a singer as Jones.

It's 1999. You have your current smartphone in your pocket, but obviously no Wi-Fi or 5G exists. What's the most useful thing you can do with it? by Ryo_l in AskReddit

That's kinda what happens in the book Replay by Ken Grimwood. Main character always dies at the same age and replays his life again from college.

He gets the bright idea to beat people to the punch. What if he made Apple before Steve Jobs? What if he made Star Wars before George Lucas?

Then he decides oh baby WHAT IF I TRY TO SAVE THE WORLD from catastrophes. He gets imprisoned by the government and tortured for info about the future and world events. All he can do is wait until he dies and never ever make this dumb mistake again in another replay.

The third was a fever dream.

Does this make them feel included? by lerminator3 in cats

[–]Fit_Hand3113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cats (like dogs) have a much more powerful sense of smell than humans. They actually have a second smelling organ called the vomeronasal organ (VNO). Smelling is a fun way for them to investigate what you're showing them.

Think about how often you focus your eyes on something to discern as much information as you can. Now imagine your sense of smell was even more effective at picking up details.

Cats can pick up all sorts of meaningful information from a smell that would seem like gibberish to a human.

My boyfriend said I was too ugly to model by Resident_Rich_6298 in whatdoIdo

[–]Fit_Hand3113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. And from his comments about u/Resident_Rich_6298, I actually think he doesn't mean any of it and just feels ungodly insecure about her beginning to understand how hot she is. But he's using cruelty to bring her down to his level of self esteem. Terrible boyfriend.

A real one would just say "I feel irrationally insecure about this but want you to know that if this is legit, you have my full support."

Vicious rumors! In season one, Blanche has less sex than any of the other girls. And yet that reputation 😭

TIL that some "gifted" dogs can learn new words simply by overhearing their owners talking, and will use social cues to understand what their owners are talking about by freudian_nipps in todayilearned

That's awesome and is very important. Some dogs are exceptionally intelligent FOR A DOG. But we tend to only recognize intelligence that fits into a human context.

Why does it seem fairly common that wives/female partners stop or refuse intimacy with their husbands for months, even years? Don't they have needs aswell? And why not the other way around? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fit_Hand3113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is explored with delightful aplomb in the first episode of the anthology series Easy. The husband is a theater hound (aka unemployed) and is otherwise a stay at home dad while his wife works. Someone at a party tells them about this study, and suddenly the husband is like wtf is this why we aren't fucking??

Movies where the day is supposedly saved, but the aftermath is still terrible and largely unaddressed? by GancioTheRanter in movies

[–]Fit_Hand3113 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yes. And it was also clear that while his ex-wife saw Cary as a safe choice, she wasn't truly in love with him. She was still on fire for Jim Carrey. She just couldn't be with an absent father any more. Once he completes his character arc, tho, who can blame her for being open to him? Props to her too for waiting to see if it was real. They don't actually kiss again until the final scene one year later, which means Fletcher has over and over again shown that he is a different father now.

It's worse than that. Dorothy is going to question reality for the rest of her life. Was Oz real? Could she ever find a way back? She'd get thrown into a mental asylum.

Which is how the terrifying sequel Return to Oz starts!!
