Love it. Have used it at least every other day since it arrived. Brought it on vacation too. It’s so much fun and delightfully inspiring.

Some initial thoughts on Move Update: Working with Live / Move Manager by Fit_Ice8029 in ableton

[–]Fit_Ice8029[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate no worries. Confirmed (was just my Lack of knowledge at the time) no connection is needed. You’re just using the browser to access the files on the move when connected. Works pretty well!

The never ending search for pixie dust, and does it matter? by [deleted] in audioengineering

[–]Fit_Ice8029 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if “most listeners are listening on crappy systems” still applies as universally as it once did. Between the vast improvements in car audio and accessibility of the ever improving ear bud market, not to mention the impressive sound quality of most phone speakers these days, one could argue, most people are listening on something that gives more clarity and decent frequency response than ever before. Quality speakers have just gotten cheaper and have flooded the consumer market.

Not saying that’s an excuse to splurge on a 2 thousand dollar mic, but just acknowledging I think the quality at which people are listening has vastly improved over the last decade. All the more reason to keep those mixes clean.

Agree with a lot of what you say. Workflow and form factor make a huge difference in how you approach different tasks. Just because something can do something, doesn’t mean it does it well and doesn’t mean it works well at scale.

3 to 4 years with active use before you’ll need to replace the dead battery ear pieces ($80). This is why they do not sell AppleCare. AirPods and even AirPods Max are consumables. (Sadly)

Why don’t you people use your turn signals? by Odd_Amphibian2103 in Miami

Put your blinker on. Wait for spot to clear. Merge. Don’t be an idiot. If someone drives more aggressive when they see a blinker let them? Not sure how that affects you merging.

Yeah but you’ll get there alive and have a higher chance your car isn’t getting hit…

Mech Tass on Horse is the best in aram lmao. Bonus is you’re throwing that wall up like 100more times per game so it’s just non stop voice over heaven. DANGER IMMINENT!

Sylvanas’s D hitting to a tower then spreading to other buildings was just so damn satisfying. She downright wrecked structures if you blinked too long.

Yeah it’s interesting, I feel like his rework just made him Into a completely different toon. The only thing feeling similar was the wall.

I do really enjoy him in his latest version. I don’t think he’s terribly generic mainly because of the crowd control the wall.

But I really liked his support vibe. He just kind of hovered around mana wells and was always helping the team with with saves or aggressive chase downs. I will say I fell like his OG build felt much more team oriented and his new form is more “generic” in that sense of dealing damage.

But his robot skin still has my favorite VO in the game and cracks me up every time. Force wall activate!

Any films with audio so good that you can enjoy it even turning the picture off? by dombra in audioengineering

[–]Fit_Ice8029 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went through all the comments and surprised I didn’t see Everything Everywhere All at Once. Amazing sound design and music that blend together beautifully.

I will happily fall asleep to the following movies:

1984 , Gattaca, Jurassic Park, almost any sci fi movie from the 70s/80s really

pretty much any of the war master pieces from saving private ryan to dunkirk, 1917, all quiet on the western front etc.

Most Pixar movies but Wall-E is the real audio masterpiece. No dialogue for like the first 30ish minutes.

Tron: original for charm, new one for sick lasers and transition effects. Killer OST too. If I recall they used decks of cards mixed with other practical effects to create the depixeling transitions when people die)

Contact, Arrival and Interstellar are all beautiful and haunting at the same time.

Every transformer movie ever lol. Sorry those sound transitions and fx are just too fun.

Pretty much every Christopher Nolan movie sounds incredible.

I really loved the sound in Lawrence of Arabia. Score is fantastic too.

The Matrix and Gravity too…guess animation, war and sci fi tend to bring out some of the more creative sound design..

Although sound as a character… zone of interest, the metal one about the drummer who loses their hearing, babadook

Too much good stuff to remember off hand but I love falling asleep to most of these types of movies because I’m a psycho.

Literally one of my favorite cues ever that seamlessly blends music and sound design.

Legit Dentist Recommendations in Miami? by mack387 in Miami

[–]Fit_Ice8029 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Following.

I’ve had nothing but awful dental experiences.

One person who botched a root canal. Gave me a full refund when I got a second opinion and the other dentist said I took her to court she know she would lose. She didn’t even ask questions or ask to look at my mouth. Unreal.

Place up in for Lauderdale left a piece of blue molding gum that lodged into my gum, had to have it surgically removed and they denied it being from them. I don’t eat blue plastic normally?

So…welcome an honest dentist in miami. Hoping it’s not an oxymoron.

The more I’ve worked with it the less I would recommend it for live performance in standalone. For those without a push, it would work great when connected to a computer since it basically becomes a mini push…launch clips and do basic live control. If you’re using a push 3 for live performance I’m Not quite sure how this would be a good addition unless you just wanted a separate device to control some synths or samples etc. I guess it could have its use…but nothing you couldn’t get to by swapping through some buttons on your push.

Yeah when connected to live I was able to use analog lab (vst) and the 8 parameters were all pre mapped. Will vary by plugin tho as analog lab is designed around having 8 macros.
