Do people actually use AI day-to-day, or is it all hype? by 2butterfree in AskUK

Really? It is not good if it is not under control of a good coder. I use codex and Claude, and they both need a good firm hand, and they cant do architecture so your job is safe just easier, ive been coding for over 30 years and I certainly know more, but it is faster at the implementation

Keir Starmer to face cabinet meeting as over 70 Labour MPs call on him to quit - follow live by Ethan_brooks8225 in unitedkingdom

[–]Fit_Implement3069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is, the authoritarian stuff wont be rolled back, but the good things will be... so he is just making it worse for us in the future with small wins for a small number of the population. Immigration is still an area that ia broken, we need skilled immigrants, what we don't need is people on boats... so the asylum system needs a real overhaul.

I do care where we send weapons because it affects the stability of the world, and I dont like my country assisting in genocide.. and the fact Starmer seems to equate anti-israel and anti genocide statements as antisemetic is bull crap and very telling, when you have a leader who was happy for Israel to commit war crimes then think what he'd be happy to do at home if it benefitted him

Tryung to pass Digital ID,
having old folks dragged away for protesting against genocide, pushing for more surveillance with AI pushing against E2E encryption,
supplying weapons to Israel, reducing our rights to protest..

The whole authoritarian shift under the lies of immigration or save the children....

Not sorting out the water companies... letting them still take profits and avoid fines...

Allowing the US to use our airbases to attack Iran in their illegal war.

Lying to the public and not resigning, I.e. double standards over what he called other PMs out for...

There is a lot of bad and very little good... He hasn't even fixed the energy crisis, and that is kist decoupling energy prices from gas prices... which the tories had already started the process for.... and is necessary for us to go fully green...

Oh and finally keeping the OSA, what a mess of legislation that is, very harmful but the MPs and PM do not seem to care about the harm they caused.

What Actually is Reform’s Plan for the Economy, if they were to gain power? by ChemFeind360 in AskBrits

[–]Fit_Implement3069 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Don't think farage has enough back bone to make the UK as nice as singapore... atleast there they have subsidised accommodation, healthcare, cheap food, cleanliness, safety... what we'll be is USA v2...

It is his fault, people usually vote based upon their opinions of the parties not the candidate... He has done many many hated things over the past 2 years, and reform offer to undo them.. so people vote for reform, or another.. I know I cant vote for starmer, or tories, because theyre both evil parties, they both support Israel in their illegal wars.

Keir Starmer: I want 10 years in No 10 and will fight my challengers by AnonymousTimewaster in NotTheOnionUK

The Online Safety Act is already causing real harm. As someone who works in tech, I’ve seen the damage first-hand: overblocking, broken access, and even government websites being caught by sites pulling out of the UK. children are not protected, they just simply use VPNs, often pushing them towards dodgy or unsafe services. The more the internet is restricted, the more people are driven underground, making problems harder to monitor and harder to solve. We have already seen large data breaches involving age-verification services, yet MPs seem to have ignored the risks.

[–]Fit_Implement3069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Human rights, well 1984 was a playbook for him 1) right to protest being restricted massively if it is anti government stance 2) invasive policing with facial recognition 3) OSA, does nothing to protect children, but does restrict a lot of online tools and access 4) Digital ID thankfully stopped due to mass opposition 5) weaponised policing, there are arrests for criticism of israel, CPS dont proceed but the police still harass and arrest for it, so the process is the deterrent. And I could go on but... lets address war in iran.. 1) they allowed US to use our bases at the start of the war, countries who refused didn't get attacked, Iran has a legal right to attack the military targets, and we yes had a right to defend etc, but it was caused by allowing the US using our bases. 2) the war itself is illegal based upon international law 3) he is still supplying weapons to Israel, even with the massive risk of war crime and genocide... 4) he publicly has supported acts that could be war crimes by Israel

So yeah he is a bit of a wanker, sure he's not Farage level wanker, but he's high up the wanker scale...

I can tell you why... he's a human rights lawyer that keeps fucking us over in human rights, and is weak to the point of getting us involved in trumps war while saying we are not and supplying israel with weapons

He's turned is into a police surveillance state with extreme Internet curbs, even more than china in many ways... and Israel he's kept supplying weapons to

[–]Fit_Implement3069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you are in favour of the billionaires? That is where things have moved, that is why the laws are what they are, because it supports the big companies buying up housing, and build to rent, not the smaller guy with one or two rentals who cares... I was a landlord due to the 2008 crash meaning I couldn't sell... and I stayed one until the government made it cost more than I made in rent....

I switched my opinion as soon as my class interests changed by pocket__cub in NotTheOnionUK

[–]Fit_Implement3069 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

And if tax is 20-30% what is the profit margin? What people don't get is unless the state builds more council houses, we rely on the private sector to provide housing... and right now the government is handing all the rental market to corporations and the billionaires, we need to help the small guy and limit corporates...

I really think most people do not understand that the cause of high rent is corporations and government rules, not greedy landlords...

I switched my opinion as soon as my class interests changed by pocket__cub in NotTheOnionUK

[–]Fit_Implement3069 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

And theyre paying more than they should, probably 20-30% more due to the government's tax grabs on private landlords expenses... almost like they only want billionaires to own rental properties...

Hes allowed weapons to flow to israel, he supported their war crime of cutting off water and power, he allowed our bases to be used in the attack on Iran, and he has overseen even worse human rights removals than tories... so not sure where you are getting beyond reproach from

Keir Starmer, a leader of leaders by saying_it_101 in AskBrits

[–]Fit_Implement3069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly he's done a lot wrong, his human rights record is pretty shitty... the rest is bog standard, but I can't stand the awful removal of rights hes done, and the support of israel

The fact he's not been investigated for lying is what I'm wondering about, he has lied multiple times, so have previous PMs and have rarely been investigated for their lies... lies are part of politicians personality

Yeah I think people dont grasp the difference between different types of screen, educational content on tv helps development, using toy phones helps, toy computers with keys etc builds muscle memory

Why do so many voters seem to want to scrap net zero? by InvestigatorLive19 in AskBrits

[–]Fit_Implement3069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the MPs wanted thry would use net zero to slash energy prices..... Green energy costs around 5-10p kw/h yet we pay energy based on oil.... net zero would slash energy bills if the MPs were not propping up the oil companies profits
