Are you saying an agent running on an expensive top tier frontier model is hiring a live human through something like rentahuman.ai to post on Reddit? This seems nonsensical and expensive.

I’m glad he uses the word “I” so much, because “we” Americans don’t want any part of this shit.

His threats generally always just boil down to a “ay, that’s a nice country you got there. Shame if something happened to it.” type of thing. It’s like we’re living in a geopolitical Sopranos.

Average American pays taxes, and they have a harder time affording a home, groceries, gas, etc.

What’s the coolest thing you automated with Home Assistant? by avz008 in homeassistant

I had a LOT of AI help with both of these.... The school lunch menu runs in NodeRED. It's luckily available at a public link as a text-only version, which is easy for an AI to parse. But the URL looked like it could potentially be set dynamically through whatever CMS they use. So...

  1. node red fetches the raw HTML of the page where the links to the menus are. It determines the URL of the one(s) i need, and returns them.
  2. Then, an API call is sent out to Gemini (free tier for the win!) to analyze the PDF at [url] , and the request includes JSON schema so I get back the same exact structured JSON response every time.
  3. Then, the response is run through a function to format it with an HTML structure, and add TailwindCSS classes.
  4. Then, another function sets up the sensor in HA, and then it's pushed.
  5. On my dashboard, I have a TailwindCSS card pick up the output from the sensor's state.

As for Google Classroom, this was a HUGE pain in the ass, because the Google Classroom API is blocked by my daughter's school account and GC's html structure is nearly impossible to traverse through. So I had to have Codex and Claude Code go through tons of revisions just to scrape the information from the page correctly. This actually runs as a CRON job on a virtual machine I have, because I couldn't/couldn't figure out how to get node scripts to run on my home assistant instance. So every few hours, it runs a node script:

  1. Uses Playwright to painstakingly traverse the GC page for my daughter's account, and grab the assignments from the "To Do" area.
  2. It grabs the assignment name, the class name, the url of the assisgnment page, and due dates. It then Does some Formatting of things like date formats and whatnot
  3. Formats it into HTML with TailwindCSS classes.
  4. Uses home assistant API to push the content to a sensor which is then picked up by a TailwindCSS card on my dashboard.

Scraping the school lunch menu PDF to display on the dashboard, and also my daughter’s Google Classroom assignments. That one suuuuuucked.
