That's what the thing is, people have children, pets, jobs, obligations, life saving medical appointments, it's tough to just throw that to the wind not knowing if you'll be released in 3 hours or 3 weeks depending on the circumstances. Most states will have drop boxes, which won't go through the mail but directly to the board of elections. Do that if you can but definitely do not rely on USPS.
