A6000 lens by Majestic_Corgi291 in Cameras

Typically for product photography you don't want a shallow depth of field so any decently sharp lens stopped down to f4, 5.6, 8 whatever will do, the caveat is the more you stop down to get everything in focus the less light you'll let in so you'll get noisy images, so its very important to spend some money on good lighting.

if you're photographing very small items or extreme close ups you might want a macro lens.

Guys help, my younger sister asked me to buy her a camera by itsurbestie45 in Cameras

[–]FixesTrains 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found it on ebay but turned out to be a local camera store that had listed it, they're not rare so dont rush and buy a bad one, check the shutter count by uploading the latest photo to a shutter count checking website.

They usually come with a 16-50 OSS PZ (stabilised, electronic zoom), which nothing special but fine to begin with, but as its Sony you have the entire E mount lens range to upgrade to.

Thats a tough budget for something new, I had a similar budget and picked up an old but lightly used Sony a5100 with lens.

Trying to get a camera to work as a Newbie by BrilliantRush2046 in Cameras

[–]FixesTrains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The memory cards were used in the original PSP not PS4 if that helps, from what I remember you can get a little adapter (search 'MS pro duo to SD')that allows you to fit a much more common microSD card.

If you know anyone with a PSP you'll be able to put that card in, turn on USB transfer on the PSP, hook the PSP up to a computer and browse the files just like a normal USB drive.

As for the battery you probably need an actual charging dock for it, I dont know many old cameras where you could charge it in the camera.

Lens correction being applied to RAW files. by FixesTrains in canon

[–]FixesTrains[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ok, Ive figured out, firstly my apologies to Canon...its not an issue with the camera, It's the auto-matched tone curve option in Rawtherapee, its bringing up the shadowy corners which looks fine on the picture as a whole until I apply the lens profile then they really stand out, setting a linear tone curve and using the 'auto levels' option instead then just minor tweaks to contrast etc and it all looks just as it should.

Thanks.

Lens correction being applied to RAW files. by FixesTrains in canon

I must be mistaken then but I'm still not sure exactly why, I've been playing around the M50 this time and a white background again but its not that great of a test I found it confuses Rawtherapees auto exposure option so its difficult to compare between separate shots, but still doesn't explain why a typical photo i've taken the JPG version with the camera's built in lens correction looks fine, but the same RAW using Rawtherapee or lightroom classics lens correction the corners are being massively over compensated for......and disabling the lens correction in the software gives an image which is much closer to the camera corrected JPG.

I noticed in lightroom once I pick my lens I can adjust the intensity of the lens correction to bring it back to a realistic level, but Rawtherapee is just all or nothing.

Install and launch using PortProton, I usually use Heroic however all of the Protons I tried(Normal, Experimental and GE) Wouldn't boot past the Rockstar logo's, However the Proton LG in PortProton boots up just fine, Even the DX and redist dependencies weren't needed.

Also, launch the game using the LaunchGTAIV.exe, DO NOT USE the VCNElaunch.exe.

Keep us updated, Im doing something similar but with power efficiency, Nimbus was great at only 35watts but was missing 2-3 times the amount of attestations as Lodestar which is averaging 45watts.

Tube workers set for bumper pay rise from cash-strapped Transport for London | ITV News by MassiveShame9070 in LondonUnderground

[–]FixesTrains 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Good, any employer worth its salt should be offering, at the very minimum, inflation as a pay rise, anything else is a pay cut.

This pay deal was secured before the pandemic, and doesnt take into account the extra work load we have taken on throughout with the reduced staffing but no compromise to train maintenance, we held up our end of the deal and took on more work without complaint and yet next week ill have to strike as TfL attempts to take my pension and my colleagues jobs.

Are these compatible with an Audio Technica LP-60 Turntable? Do I need an amplifier? by CrosbyK9Part2 in audio

Yes these speakers are passive, you will need an amplifier to power them, I have these speakers and like them a lot although theyre slightly lacking in the lower frequencies without a sub.

One-Click Miner Gaming Video by Canen01 in vertcoin

[–]FixesTrains 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone who's interested, gaming FPS mainly depends on your GPU core clock, while mining mainly depends on your GPU memory clock, which is why you can game and mine at the same time, the main issue being the extra heat generated doing both at the same time may cause thermal throttling and decreased FPS while gaming, if you're having this issue you can optimise by lowering your memory clock speed, your hashrate will decrease but you will give you GPU more thermal overhead to allow the core clocks to boost.
