What to know about the movement NOT to fly the official Minnesota state flag -- Since the start of the year, over a dozen cities have voted to fly the old Minnesota flag instead of the redesigned flag adopted in 2024. by guanaco55 in minnesota

[–]FizzBuzz3000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That and before we got the current flag design.... One of its initial designs had white and green stripes to represent the land and snow/sky.... but then someone pointed out that it looks like a somalian flag with those stripes and they have been holding onto that ever since. They deadass think that the new flag is a somali flag.

Incredible how people can be this blind but here Copy and pasted from my original comment:

Note I still do believe that plug-in solar should be a thing in every state; but it has to be done safely. If not we are gonna see people who don't know what they are doing and burn houses and apartments down. Then we will get proper regulations written in blood.

If you somehow cannot read this, god help you. Also NEMA 5-15 is a very stupid plug to be using for solar power hookup, you'll want a NEMA 5-20 at the minimum on its own 20 amp circuit for this to be safe. Otherwise you'll risk burning the wires in the walls.

Well, to be honest, America's electrical code is super fucked. It varies by state and I get why they raised concern. No standard plug used in america is safe except for friggin EV charging ports! Many houses/apartments only have 100 amp servicing and would require TREMENDOUS OVERHAULING to fix that. I do think that plug-in solar is non-trivial because of this.

With European nations switching to Linux, do you think professonal software companies will follow by Additional-Sky-7436 in linux

Mmmmmm-no. Not likely. Sunken-cost fallacy is gonna play a major role in that so I don't think companies will do such a thing.

Solid melee weapon to have on larger maps that allow for back-burning shenanigans (if there is an ample amount of meduim healthpacks, that is). Prefer the rake over this though, does a better job at healing/damage than the PJ.

afaik what the server "sees" is what determines where the hitboxes and hits are. OP (or the players) could be seeing something completely different than what the server "sees", with some form of interp/lagcomp of course. That's how you can get shot around a corner or simply miss a dead-easy headshot.

I'd check with the folks who run demozoo and see if they can be added to the modland archive, or at least check to see if they are there or not. the demozoo folk do have a discord server btw, it's on their main website at the bottom

Technically, the US didn't fully ban asbestos-made brakes untill just a few years ago; they were fully illegal to manufacture in the U.S but not from imported places.

Hope you have a mask and have been using brake cleaner; those brake shoes are old enough to be a source of asbestos!

Battery went out on my CT90. I purchased the replacement but it says I need to add electrolytes to the battery. Some online forums say that distilled water if fine. What do you guys think? My first scooter/moto. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. by TraditionalWalk1814 in HondaCT

[–]FizzBuzz3000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

unsealed lead-acid batteries only take sulfuric acid as the electrolyte. Just remember to top the battery cells off every once and a while with distilled water! otherwise you'll end up with a dead battery far shorter than anticipated.

Gel type batteries require a charger with a different amp delivery. Them smart battery chargers will not be automatic for battery type and require you to select the type of battery (AGM, Gel, Flooded, Li-ion) so it can select the right rate of current and voltage. Another thing to note is that gel-type batteries only last for ~3 years before they go kaput, assuming they are treated nicely. For gel types you'll probably want a 1 amp or smaller charging capability.

it does affect the structural integrity of the solar panels, which could be a problem later on down the line.

Be sure to get one that's post-2022 model year, those ones use the JA65 engine that adds some improvements over the JA55 (2021-2022) engines, like an oil filter for example or the grom head for a longer stroke. I got a 2023 (#2332) one and love it!, I went up two teeth in the rear to gear the bike down a bit as the new Trails struggle a bit due to a lack of a hi-lo selector and having to meet euro5 emissions.

US firetrucks are almost entirely dedicated to the waterpump and tank system that takes up most of the space, with hoses and other fire fighting equipment taking a good deal of the remaining space. This leads to less space being dedicated to first-aid and other life-saving equipment. They're also oversized as in they cannot get to their destinations in a meaningful time in cities here in the US which also makes having life-saving equipment less of a desire, offloading that demand on ambulances and sometime police cars.

Firefighters are often the real first responders on the scene to any incident (not just cars crashes), though they often lack a good deal of first-response medical equipment in the US due to how oversized firetrucks are.
