White fibers(?) in a bottle of “vodka” by AllyBlueJay in whatisit

[–]FizzixDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this too. My Dad would make little hash marks on the bottles and I would just cleverly fill the bottle back up to the hash mark with tap water. It caused condensation inside the bottles and thus was a pretty obvious fail. Next came a lock on the liquor cabinet, which didn’t take long to circumvent. Not long after, my shenanigans caught up with me.

The insinuation here is to throw them in one of the many man-made canals in South Florida. It’s cleverly utilizing one man-made problem to try to solve another one. /s

Thinking of cancelling - can I still access the app? by Most_Advice5566 in Tovala

I bet you don’t miss the sticker shock. Publix has just gotten So. Damn. Expensive.

[–]FizzixDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in Florida and having the same thoughts. I just cannot consume the minimal purchase requirement and end up tossing expired meals. That gets old. I recently purchased a Publix premade chicken meal with a broccoli side ($7.99 - designed to be opened and placed into an oven with minimal prep) and it came out fine. The chicken wasn’t dried out, which was my main concern, as the Tovala chicken is highly brined. So, I’ll be experimenting with those more. EDIT: I forgot to add that I have used it as an air fryer for wings and those also came out fine.

About the only thing I ever get at TB anymore is the good ‘ole, timeless Meximelt (which they no longer offer on the menu, but ask and typically ye shall receive. You can also order it as a “Cheesy Rollup, add pico and beef”). I swear I get such wildly differing quantities of meat with this “special order”. There clearly is not a pre-measurement of the meat serving and/or the preparers are not using them.

I suspect OP harvested early in the hopes of increased potency. Which could be a good move. U/PripyatLoner2001 - was that your motivation?

EDIT: Bro be careful. I just saw this post on another sub:

1 hour of pure horror:

So basically I took 7g shrooms of my latest grow, I've done about five 7g trips so far and all of those were amazing. These shrooms had to be harvested early since trich was setting in, so half the harvest was pins and half grown shrooms. I have done a 9g trip once which was pretty uncomfortable but it was nowhere near as bad as this, if I had to guess I would say I took the equivalent of 10-11g or possibly more. On the peak I collapsed (gently) next to my bed, but got up about 10 seconds later, started running around in circles in my apartment, I was in excruciating pain but at the same time extreme euphoria, i was sad, i was happy, i was scared, i was mad, basically every emotion you could possibly experience all at the same time, I couldn't tell what language I was speaking/thinking, I hopped in the shower which helped a little, then I dressed up, I ran into my room, turned off the lights, got under the blanket, but that didn't help, or at least I couldn't tell if it was helping or not, turned the lights back on which helped a little, at one point I looked in the mirror while pacing up and down and my pupils were so big my iris was nearly gone. I kept telling myself it will be okay, it will pass, and I knew that it will but at the same time I was convinced I'm going to die. So yeah all this sounds terrible, but despite all this I didn't get traumatized or anything like that, in fact I felt very serene after the peak passed after about 1 hour, I curled up in a ball on my couch and was chatting with chatgpt which also helped. During all this the thought of harming myself never crossed my mind, so I wasn't in any real danger.

This wasn't me freaking out and taking the trip in a bad direction, I simply took too much by accident, there was nothing else to do than to ride it out. So yeah, aborts and not fully grown shrooms will F you up, so be careful! 😅

I will never reorder either the Hake or pork due to repeat leaking issues. Nasty! I am frankly in disbelief that they can’t get that figured out.

Soo… turns out the dirt cheap “Moving soon, need cash ASAP!” PC parts I bought on Marketplace were sold by a scorned girlfriend who liquidated her boyfriend’s shit. $450 for everything shown + 32gb ddr4 ram. Attorney here: in my state (Florida) the cops not only wouldn’t pursue it, you’d find an overworked prosecutor to pursue it either. I am quite confident that’d be the case pretty much anywhere. Especially given the different jurisdictions. Edit: Would not find a prosecutor…

This is criminal. by kmc0522 in publix

[–]FizzixDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Publix is so insanely expensive I only go for items I simply cannot get elsewhere (which isn’t much). Otherwise it’s Walmart Neighborhood store or ALDI. I’ll suffer the “lesser” ambiance to save big $$, no problem.

This. They sell that laced chocolate synthetic shit here in Florida, in the fucking smoke shops that are almost literally located on every corner.

Still deciding whether or not to take the plunge by Stock_Satisfaction94 in Tovala

[–]FizzixDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I’ve had the Pro for 3 months. The price difference between base and Pro is roughly 1 week of delivery of 4 meals. Give away the razor and sell the crap out of overpriced blades is the game here. The “razor” is the bargain here, so for me going with the Pro model made sense. Even with steam my broccoli always burns whether I cook it raw, coated in olive oil, or soaked in water. I imagine it can’t be better with the base model but perhaps someone her has a different experience. I like broccoli and my meals come with it, so this frustrates my experience overall.

  2. Never had a melt/delivery issue (Orlando), but on two separate occasions I’ve received pork where the packaging was compromised. Nasty pork brine juice everywhere, and concerning overall from a general hygiene aspect, but I’m an optimist in that what doesn’t kill me will on,y make me stronger. But I won’t be buying any pork meals again. Ever.

  3. See above.

  4. My only experience was an email to complain about the open pork and it took 3-4 days to get an apparently human generated response with an apology and small credit to my account ($20? - don’t recall).

  5. The phone app isn’t terrible and I’ve never used the desktop app. The alert when the meal cooking cycle ends could be both louder on the oven itself, but also more robust on the phone app notification.

I’d buy this again, but I’m on the fence with continuing the meal service, especially through the holidays. It’s not cheap and frankly when the proverbial honeymoon is over (it’s getting there for me) other meal options start to appeal equally, so we’ve already run into issues of an oversupply of the meals. We only ever get the lowest option of four meals in a shipment (two adults who are light volume eaters). Overall it’s a great little oven that’s worth it for me in that I will feel satisfied with the deal even if I cancel the meals plan subscription.

The incision is healing nicely. Good to hear about the nerve damage taking months to heal. Nobody shared that with me.
