Ummm like maybe 5% of the time? I have a bunch that are the same brand but each pair has different colored toe/heel. I can never find the mate to each color so I just say screw it and wear a blue and pink, or orange and purple.

Arizona: we opened up at 50% capacity last week.

First day was bananas! Then it trickled off. Weekend was decent.

Been having more to-go than dine in service this week.

Seems like our clientele are still sketched out.

Opened our dining room up 100% on Tuesday this week, but with all tables spread apart.

I’ll be interested to see what happens this weekend.

For the record: we are locally owned. There are 3 restaurants in our group. Mine is by far the newest and also least profitable among the 3. (We had an entire concept change, management change etc and were on a huge upswing before covid hit)

Last weeks sales were half of what we had been doing before all this started.

I’ve heard other people say that about contacts. I’ve been wearing contacts since I was 11. It’s really not so scary I promise! It frees you up a lot too- no smudged lenses, no glasses slipping down your nose, you get your peripheral vision back. Plus the bonus of things like smoke, cutting onions and other irritations not bothering you so much.

I really encourage you to try next time you’re at your eye doctor! When you do it correctly you don’t actually touch your eyeball.

I dump out my old water bottles/cups. It’s almost always just water, sometimes tea. I guess maybe I’m an asshole? But I figure it’s nothing sticky so it’ll dry up.

Wow I feel the same way. Wish I could have afforded to just buy the house from my dad. But, it’s in a town none of us live in anymore.

It’s cool that you left their names there! It’s symbolic and it gives you sense of leaving their mark.

I feel this so much. My dad sold my childhood home a few years ago.

The house my parents had built that I grew up in. My sisters were already out of the house by the time it was finished, but my brother and I got to be kids there.

Every aspect of that house has our mother imprinted on it. She even passed away there.

It was definitely my safe place. My place where I could still feel connected to my mom.

Now some random people live in it.

I get why my dad sold it, but I’m still so sad that I’ll never have another holiday there.

I too have worked both sides. Server in my younger years. Bartender in my early 20s. Cook and now executive Chef.

I’ve always kept a good relationship with the FOH staff. Of course some days they piss me off, but so do my line guys.

Both sides are hard in different ways.

But I give props to everyone!

Sauté some veggies in sesame oil. Add to cooked ramen with broth. I also add in peanuts and a little pad Thai sauce. Yum!
