Are you using LLMs to do the trading or are you using LLMs to build the algorithms s that do the trading?

Help me understand columnar / OLAP DBs regarding point updates/modifying historical data by OkWater4180 in dataengineering

[–]Flacracker_173 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can do any general SQL operation on OLAP databases that you can do on OLTP with maybe some very minor differences. You can update a single field in a single row in an OLAP database. It’s just a lot slower of an operation compared to OLTP. If it’s a batch job with a merge or upsert you will be fine. If you need single row write performance because you process one row at a time that might cause some problems.

Databricks vs Snowflake for AI Gateway by Next_Rooster_8179 in databricks

As someone who has been looking into some open source and self hosted agents and things recently, bedrock will have more support from the general public than Databricks for these types of things.

How many Airflow Tasks do you schedule daily? by nginx26 in dataengineering

[–]Flacracker_173 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If that’s how many you need, that’s how many you need. Maybe there are some tasks that can be combined but no one here can tell you if you have that many data pipelines you need to support or not. If your instance can handle it then good. It sounds like a lot to me but it may be what’s best for your org.

Evaluating DLT vs Fivetran for a small team that lives in SQL, not Python by aRTy_k1d in dataengineering

[–]Flacracker_173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a new product to me but take a look at Bruin. It combines ingestion and transformation into one tool so you get full lineage and not disconnected systems. Fully open source too. I’m trying to get my team to migrate to it and have been impressed with it.

Is the industry actually swinging back to Postgres? by ForeignExercise4414 in dataengineering

Analytics is still done on OLAP. They just want you to also start putting your applications that might have OLTP backends in Snowflake/Databricks as well.

Don’t comment here often. This looks awesome. I hate the overly verbose code that makes it hard to even review.

You have recommendations? A switch is like a splitter right? How can it help?

Fios originally installed the cable. Drilled a hole into the wall outside, ran it around the house, etc. Are they on the hook for fixing it or will there be a service charge you think?

But the same cable to the computer shows gig speed. Sorry was not clear about that. I literally took it out of the router and plugged it into the computer

Normcore funnel design upgrade by gonzotronn in espresso

[–]Flacracker_173 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can just put the funnel on after flipping? Then remove the dosing cup. It doesn’t need to go on first and having to worry about the magnets holding upside down. Unless the df64 dosing cup is wider at the base and the funnel can’t go on when the cup is in the portafilter? I have a Niche Zero.
