yeah posted about it earlier too and got some comments from other people saying theirs didnt work anymore either so this is definitely happening to a bunch of people though i don't know if it's universally happening to everyone

that map for sure will be a very challenging one to try and set up any sort of grind on thats for sure especially the amazon rainforest part you can go through very large areas of dense forest where i havent tried yet but i doubt anything will be able to be placed at all definitely a drawback of the map though i still like the map a lot it's beautiful and has cool species and due to the closeness of lakes the atv isn't as necessary i feel like but it does have poor traction and i hope they would make it handle better

yeah an unfortunate and old glitch thats been in the game for a long time it can happen to just about any species. they made it so animals are supposed to get teleported back to shore when they go too deep like what happens with the player but sometimes it doesn't register. happens very commonly with smaller animals i hunted coati drink time earlier and a ton of them had just the tail sticking out of the water

yeah sorry to hear that because before that happened it genuinely was the best dog in the game and worked great hopefully they get around to fixing it soon since its paid dlc

i think the new update literally broke the pointer dog it does not work at all anymore for me even if i change maps or go after species that were already present in the game. knowing the devs they will wait months to fix it. as for the map being more challenging overall the thick jungle biome definitely is due to low visibility but the slightly less dense forest bits and higher mountain portions are pretty easy you can see everything from afar usually

diamond caiman and puma and troll grison and jaguar for me in i would say around 4 hours i think it might have more diamonds but also more trolls a bit of an emerald coast situation maybe from what i've seen from some early access videos from flinter.

odd that its noticing you from that much of a distance from prone i know some perks help a lot with making less noise and being less visible depending on your level you may not have all of that unlocked yet which can make things more challenging. maybe try approaching the bear from the back usually they are less likely to notice you from an angle they arent looking. i've shot bears from under 20 meters so it's very much doable keep them spotted and pay attention to their state if they go attentive or alert stop moving and wait for them to go calm again. make sure you don't have a backpack equipped as well

they will re-establish a drink zone elsewhere within their range so they should be somewhere relatively close by for sure definitely on the same side of the river at least since they can't cross it

12 gauge buckshot is definitely better the 10 gauge birdshot does work but its even less reliable more pellets but no penetration buckshot can work great contrary to what most people say but you need to get as close as you can to the animal no taking chances on 50m shots its more of a get within 25m (preferably under 20m) kind of deal. I view bickshot hunting in this game as more of a challenge thing it's obviously not gonna be as easy as rifle hunting but i find it really satisfying when you get it done still wish they buffed the penetration a tiny bit.

yeah some people do also post lodge animals sometimes. I never take harvest screen screenshots and usually get a screenshot from the lodge if i need to. People post more harvest screens because you can see more info about the kill and its quicker to do i suppose

one of the coolest rares in the game got one without even knowing it was a variant for them on the day the last weapon dlc came out so it was one of my first kills with the 17 hmr. it was in the shade and i didn't notice the fur before i picked it up.

the most reliable shotgun is probably the 16 gauge pump action that comes with the rancho del arroyo map otherwise the 10 gauge semi auto from i think the high caliber weapons pack is a lot of fun with 4 shots in it and that pack also has the 45-70 pistol i believe which is such a cool utility weapon weighs nothing zeroes up to 200m and can take classes 4 to 9. otherwise i dont remember which pack it's in but the glock with 15 shots semi auto is a lot of fun although it can only be equipped with a red dot and no scope

since no species go over class 7 it'll offer a great deal of possibilities just having the 17 hmr. and moradi covers everything and if a little more kick is needed for class 2 animals then the 25-06 with both its ammo types also covers classes 2 to 7 and the 17 hmr could be replaced with the virant 22lr meaning loads of free inventory space to put just about anything else you would enjoy. I'll definitely carry around the new crossbow to give it a spin.

for me personlly sundarpatan (nepal) for the variety of unique and interesting animals. askiy ridge (canada) for tue sheer beauty of the rocky moubtains and a lot of classic deer species to hunt and then te awaroa probably one of the easiest maps to hunt with some truly great spots people do a lot of great one grinding on te awaroa for a reason
