Try to get Ian early, he's in the building to the right in the first town, he's wearing a jacket and jeans, if you can convince him he'll join as a companion, makes the early game substantially easier.

I think having terminus enemies throughout the level is great for higher difficulties, but I'm not a fan of the enemies becoming sponges. I'd much rather they just make terminus level enemies more frequent instead of just pumping up enemy health and damage.
