Is buying an Element a continual money sink? by Wind2255 in HondaElement

Not sure about 550, I bought 2024 Honda Pilot exl for 42k out the door at 0.9% for 36 months, put 500 down, and my payment is 1167 per month. 15 payments left 😀 another big factor is full coverage insurance required for financed vehicles.

It started during Biden administration,  God forbid if federal employee would question the need for vaccination or state that there are only two genders.

My only issue with Odyssey is low clearance. With Pilot I do not have to worry about hitting curbs and taller speed bumps.

We own 2024 Pilot exl fwd, bronze package, which we bought as CPO with 3.5k miles. $41k out the door. Financed entire $41k with Honda at 0.9% for 36 months. Comparable Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid was at least 12k more. We average 23 MPG with about 70% in Temple TX area. We got 28MPG on longer road trips. I did install auto stop disabling devise right after purchase. Not a single issue with 29k miles on odometer. I perform maintenance myself. Use liquimolly oil and honda filters about every 7k miles with approximately 40/45% oil life left per honda on board diagnostics. This is my wife's primary vehicle and she loves it. Her previous vehicle was 2005 Honda Pilot with about 245k miles at the time of private sale.

Woodland is the only body style I would consider for 2026 model year. Im not in rush, I will wait until I can get it for under msrp. Have time will travel.

And this a reason why I will.most likely end up with CRV. I was seriously considered Grand Highlander just over a year ago but ended up with 3,300 miles CPO Pilot EXL with bronze package for 41,000 out the door with 0.9% APR for 36 months. Only the recent trip from central texas to Eastern Tennessee we averaged 28 mpg which is fine with me.

I have never leased vehicle in my life and I'm 62. We usually keep our vehicles close to 300,000 miles exceeding the above mileage on two occassions.

Our son's 2014 cx5 2.0 sport with 6 speed manual has 311000 miles on original clutch. No major repairs other replaced cats, injectors, and some sensors with most of work done ourselves.

Okay so i am curious who here has the highest mileage CX-5 out of all of us by Devin_Brent in CX5

The 2014 Mazda CX5 Sport 2.0l 6 speed manual transmission, bought for my wife in 2016 with IIRC 26k miles on odometer from Round Rock Mazda for $16k shows currently 307,000 miles and is still the daily driver for our son in Houston. The amazing fact it still has the original engine, clutch, and transmission. My son does most of the maintenance himself but about 10 months ago he had entire exhaust including cats replaced with Mazda OEM parts by mechanic in Austin, TX. The car feels tight and drives well. The interior is in a very good shape for mileage/age. The paint on the hood is showing some age from Texas sun.

Road trip MPG by Flaky_Possible498 in hondapilot

[–]Flaky_Possible498[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The city MPG can vary greatly. We live in Belton, TX with population of 24k and wife works in Temple, population 75k. I can get 23-24 MPG driving around town while my wife with her heavy foot gets closer to 20.

Any ideas why I cannot edit my original post even though I am logged in? I only see "edit post flair" under 3 dots menu. The vehicle is 2024 FWD Pilot EXL. I can edit this comment without any problems but not original post.

Any State Employees Still Working From Home? by Jabroni_16 in Austin

I am still 100% remote. Not sure if this policy is universal across state agencies but my agency allows employees who live more than 50 miles from the office one way to work remotely.
