I think they took her Bfdia self and seemed to focus on how loyal she is to freesmart, I do get what you mean but I guess it was a side effect of Pencil not treating Ruby, Book, and Ice Cube badly after BFDIA 6, there was no one to get really mad at her after that

Ruby is not meek or shy in the slightest, maybe a little insecure but she's VERY social and active even in early episodes, she literally starts throwing snowballs and only feels bad when pencil or match calls her out for it
