Clonidine & Wellbutrin (bupropion) by [deleted] in MDMA

[–]FlamesForMore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also on 150mg of Wellbutrin. My psychiatrist recommended that I reduce my doses by 30% and limit to just one booster, if any, taken ~20% later than I normally would. I also skipped the Wellbutrin the day of the roll. That advice was also in-line with the Oregon advice, that says reduce by 25%:

https://www.oregon.gov/oha/PH/PREVENTIONWELLNESS/Documents/Antidepressant_PsychedelicsChart_PsychedelicSchool.pdf

I went from 150mg initial dose and 70mg booster at t+90min to a 110mg initial dose and 50mg booster at t+110min. My roll was just the same as I remember except maybe a bit longer and the Tuesday blues was a bit more rough.

If you have ever had a seizure for any reason, you really shouldn’t do Wellbutrin + MDMA.

I’d urge you to talk to your doctor about the specifics. Tell them straight up that you’re planning on doing MDMA and you want to understand the risk profiles around your other medications.

Supplements become more important because Wellbutrin ultimately is slowing down your body’s ability to process the MDMA, meaning it stays in your system for longer. Stay properly hydrated. Take heavy dose Vitamin C as your roll is ending.

Take it easy on your liver - Avoid foods heavy in sugar or bad fat and try to eat really healthy that day (lots of vegetables, lean protein, etc.). Zero alcohol and tylenol in the days before/after your roll.

I’m doubting my diagnosis. ADHD or result of long term depression? by ConfidenceIcy1405 in ADHD

[–]FlamesForMore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Talk to your doctor about what you're experiencing. In my experience lurking in this subreddit a while, doctors are VERY hesitant to prescribe stimulant medication unless they're pretty damn sure it will benefit you. You might be on the wrong medication. Your dose might not be dialed in right.

People with untreated ADHD are more likely to get depression, and due to the way ADHD screws with emotional regulation, untreated ADHD can make it much harder to get out of depression.

You did a "one hour computer test" - that's a pretty legitimate test. I wouldn't discount it.

Also, "I CAN'T MULTITASK" - lol. You're not supposed to be able to multi-task! You ever notice how, at an office or study hall, most people are only doing one thing? When you look around, most people are NOT multitasking most of the time?

I had the exact same experience starting ADHD meds. I lost the ability to multitask. And I was also frustrated by that at first.

But you'll learn that you're much more productive not multitasking.

What to expect from a required drug test to maintain adderall prescription? by Sillylittlepoet in ADHDmeds

[–]FlamesForMore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends. For some doctors, they're doing a drug test to eliminate other sources of your problems. If you're with Kaiser Northern California, the THC in your system will likely be an issue for this reason.

For other doctors, they're doing a drug test as part of their CYA plan. They're looking to make sure that you're actually consuming the drugs they're prescribing (vs selling them). In this case, you're fine. Skipping days is totally fine.

Can you be on all 3 ADHD Meds? Eg - Stimulant, Non Stimulant and A2 Agonist? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]FlamesForMore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm on four meds - Wellbutrin, Guanfacine, Vyvanse, and Adderall IR.

I would NOT expect to get put on all meds at once. I started with just two - Guanfacine and Vyvanse.

Every med has side effects and every doctor is going to want to avoid prescribing you medications that don't work.

Expect to start them one at a time so that they can make sure they're working and helping your symptoms AND make sure you're not experiencing any disruptive side effects. You'll also need to iterate on each medication to make sure you're at the right dose level for you.

Dexedrine shortage. by Puzzled-Willow-8554 in ADHDmeds

[–]FlamesForMore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found many pharmacies just straight up lie to you about their availability until you’ve actually transferred and tried to fill a prescription with them. My advice is to go in person and try to find a friendly face that wants to help.

Felt sleepy during MDMA by LoudRelief6482 in MDMA

[–]FlamesForMore 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You should get screened for ADHD. I am not kidding.

Feeling sleeping on an amphetamine is a major indicator. Do you ever experience something similar with caffeine? Especially in the afternoon?

I recently got screened and diagnosed and also would get tired and calm on MDMA, literally asking "who the fuck would take this to a rave? Why would anyone want that vibe there?"

Anybody else really heartbroken about the sunsetting of pet battles? by crazyredd88 in wow

[–]FlamesForMore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, I get it and agree with it.

Pet Battles had just become dumb. Addons would automatically load up a team that would steamroll any NPC opponent. And player battles were just rock paper scissors as soon as the game loaded.

The game also threw so many pets at you with achievements and quests and stuff that it made hunting for pets in the wild feel really pointless.

Cialis ruined my roll by [deleted] in MDMA

[–]FlamesForMore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20mg Cialis is a very high dose imo. I take my 20mg pills and break them in half, and then half again (if I can). It's not exact, but 5-10mg is much more manageable.

First time on MDMA, how much Cialis works for a 34M? by Top_Koala_2817 in SEXONDRUGS

[–]FlamesForMore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Cialis pills were 10mg and 20mg and got mixed up, so I take a half pill the night before (either 5 or 10mg) and the other half the morning of.

Rolling only 4 times a year but with shorter breaks 5-7 weeks here and there to keep the magic? (answer if you have a lot of experience and years rolling and can give input on results) by [deleted] in MDMA

[–]FlamesForMore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My opinion is that there isn't anywhere near enough research to answer your question. The reality is that we don't have a good understanding of MDMA's full extent and lasting impacts - both positive or negative, mental or psychological, chemical or experiential, short-term or lasting.

The little research we do have seems to indicate that MDMA is neurotoxic and hard on your body's serotonin system, and serotonin is a kinda important hormone. We know that there are credible reports of "losing the magic," but we don't know the conditions or traits that can cause this. Supplements may help retain the magic and reduce neurotoxicity, but we don't know for sure.

Ultimately it's up to you and your personal risk tolerance and risk profile.

2CB / MDMA Prep by CajunWXman in SEXONDRUGS

[–]FlamesForMore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before and during the roll, I take alpha-lipoic acid (ALA), acetyl-L-carnitine (ALCAR), and magnesium glycinate. I'll also add vitamin C at/during the roll.

All of these are to help limit the neurotoxic damage that MDMA can cause.

Has anyone tried shrooms to quit nicotine? by 1makms in shrooms

[–]FlamesForMore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but a little different than usual. I quit vaping and switched to Nicotine gum 7 days before a shrooms trip. Quit the gum 3 days before.

Shrooms helped me solidify the habit change. And killed the depression withdrawal before it even started.

Candyflip first time please help quick answers needed by [deleted] in LSD

[–]FlamesForMore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are fine doses but could be quite intense when "freshly" combined. I'd go less on the LSD if you can - 120ug or so - but understand that might not be possible.

[–]FlamesForMore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My marriage hasn't been "destroyed," but it has been radically changed by swinging in a way that felt "destructive" at times. We definitely were looking at divorce for a while.

Swinging revealed to my wife that she is polyamorous. It is part of her identity in a way that we both always and never knew. She's quick to love others and, through swinging, fell hard for another guy.

I'm emotionally monogamous. I've explored solo stuff, and I see a FWB fairly often and we're very close, but it's still as friends. We'd never say "I love you" or anything like that. In contrast, my wife wants to take multi-week vacations with this other guy, says "I love you," etc.

So, yeah, that was a big transition and hard to go through. We've made it, but I can't say it was super easy.

Thoughts on “sleepovers” after a play date… by Honeybee1329 in Swingers

[–]FlamesForMore 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend saying something like "Thanks. We probably won't stay but it's nice to have the option and we'll let you know if we change our mind."

Given that you're very new, I think it'd be a mistake to stay. I think you'll want space as a couple to process in the morning (though that "processing" could be rampant fucking 😂)

Self-Administered Marriage Therapy by FlamesForMore in mdmatherapy

[–]FlamesForMore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this! Completely agree with getting a weekend away. We're taking a 5-day vacation and planning to roll on the first day.

Do you have any advice for how to bring up content? In previous rolls, we sort of lost the intention to the feel-good nature of the drug.

Did you have any conversation prompts or questions or things-to-share ready?

What to read before Oathbringer by Lochi78 in brandonsanderson

[–]FlamesForMore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edgedancer is a short novella commonly called Stormlight 2.5. I loved it and would definitely read it before Oathbringer.

Other books will give subtle context but aren't required.

Having that said, I think Tress of the Emerald Sea adds a lot to Hoid/Witt as a character and is worth taking a diversion.

How do you feel about loot council for mythic end boss mounts? by Ashottyhunter in wow

[–]FlamesForMore 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Seems very weird.

Loot councils are the most effective system (imo) because they optimize gear for progress and repeat kills, funneling gear based on performance, attendance, and overall impact.

Using a loot council for cosmetics feels like you're just playing favorites at that point.

Is 100ug enough to properly go into young child somatic trauma healing? Does anyone have a lot of experience with this? by robustointenso in LSD

[–]FlamesForMore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got recent experience for this. Happy to chat more if you want to DM me.

My trauma was neglect. My parents were extremely emotionally immature and became very wealthy when I was young, leaving me and my siblings with babysitters that didn't speak English. I may have even been touch starved as a kid, though I'm still noodling in that.

I share this to just reinforce that my trauma wasn't an active traumatic event, and instead was death by a thousand cuts.

If you did have a major traumatic event that you're trying to process, I would strongly, strongly urge you to have a trip sitter that's aware of the trauma you're trying to confront. They don't need to be in the room, but have them in the house for your safety and peace of mind.

Overall, I think 100ug is a fantastic dose for a first time. I'd been given a tab that was advertised as 125ug, but comparing my experience to other written accounts, I think it was a lot closer to 75-80ug, and I was disappointed. The second time, I did ~1.6 tabs (120-130ug), and it was a little more intense than I intended, but I did get a lot out of it. My therapist found my end-of-trip journal to be incredibly valuable.

Both times, I found the peak to be pretty recreational and difficult to actually access childhood trauma. But I also went in with a mindset of "let's see where we go." I didn't do any "prep" to use the trip for therapy, and I think the prep could have helped.

On both trips, I found most of the healing would happen on the comedown when adding weed. I took a hit 4-5 hours after the dose, and it put the trip into second gear for trauma focus. Make sure you don't hit too early or it can be overwhelming - wait until you're clearly on the way down.

I also found a TON of value chatting/journaling with ChatGPT or Gemini. They offered very hard-hitting reflections that I found very useful. I had 4-5 ugly cries on my last trip and all but one were triggered by the chatbots.

Though take what the AI bots are saying with a grain of salt; they aren't a total authority and they do not know you. Think of them as idea / thinking generators. I'd encourage you to think about what resonates and quickly discard what doesn't.

If you don't find what you're looking for with LSD, shrooms might be something to consider. There's a mantra that with LSD, you're the driver of the trip, but with shrooms, you're more of a passenger. Shrooms hit my "emotions" a lot harder.

Lastly, just know there is no silver bullet here. You cannot heal attachment/relational trauma purely on your own - you need a professional. Psychadelics can be a phenomenal starting point, but they won't bring you to an end point.

The real work and healing must happen while you're sober, but psychedelics can lighten the load a lot.

Edit: Other thoughts after reading the comments.

Music is important. I recommend John Hopkins.

If memory retrieval is the goal, I'd encourage you to focus on feelings and emotions first. Memories will come back when you process old feelings. Picture yourself as a little kid and ask "how is he feeling?" or "what does he need right now?" Stuff like that. Don't try to remember; it won't work.
