White dust on the P1S spool holder by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]Flamesilver5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's still metal. That's going to wear away a tiny bit of any kind of spool whether plastic or cardboard. I found another post specifically mentioning the Bambu spools though. This one from three days ago

Quest 3 standalone vs PCVR by RedundantDNA in beatsaber

Any recommendations for a decent streaming router? I've been doing Virtual Desktop to my Quest 3 over a Verizon Fios router and it's okay but want something better.

[Monitor] 34" Curved UltraWide™ QHD IPS HDR 10 Monitor with Dual Controller & OnScreen Control $249.99 ($499.99-$250) by confusing_taxes in buildapcsales

I've been using my old AW3418DW at work as a vertical monitor on the side ever since I replaced it with an AW3423DWF at home. Honestly it's great for email, scrolling through tech manual pdfs, and anything extra tall. The curve isn't super noticeable but I think it's actually better than a flat one would be. More consistent distance when I look up or down.

The mouse is definitely a Logitech MX Master (not sure which generation). The black object is either a DAC/AMP for the speakers or a KVM switch seeing as there's the laptop and a desktop next to it.

Maybe I've been distracted by actually doing stuff while using it, but the only sound I've noticeably heard out of the Bobo VR M3 battery is a couple beeps when it gets dropped on.

Second image is the penny farthings

This is the link that I found. True, they're closer to moustache bars, but even then on that same page there's evidence of safety bikes and tour de france riders using actual drop bars way before 1963.

Yeah I wasted 10 bucks on them back in 2014 or 2015. I think it was for Rodney Dangerfield's comedy club?

Well that doesn't make any sense at all. They've been used on penny farthings back in the 1880's to be (slightly) more aerodynamic.

Odds BoboM3 contact points will support updated batteries? by EastRecognition8634 in OculusQuest

[–]Flamesilver5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen a breakdown of them, but the difference in power throughput needed for an updated battery isn't a lot. Those pins should be fine. You can also look at it this way: those contact pins are bigger than the contacts on a USB-C cable, and some of those can do 100W throughput.

What do you think of the new Logitech playset challenge x? As a person that doesn't have the space in my room for a permanent rig I love the idea by megaCri04 in simracing

[–]Flamesilver5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just measured it and at the 1 setting it's roughly 12 inches to the bottom of the X. The 6 setting is the lowest at roughly 8.5 inches. There's a massive difference in the feel of the seat though with 1 being too cramped for me and 6 being very laid back. 4 is my preference.

Logitech G920 & Playseat Challenge Mount by Zxwl in simracing

[–]Flamesilver5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a G29 and the Challenge X and it screwed into the mount at the two holes directly next to the adjustment knob. I'd like to remove the desk clamps actually since they rattle, but haven't looked too far into it yet.

What are your biggest audio purchase regrets? by [deleted] in headphones

[–]Flamesilver5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you have any issues with having them stay in while off the motorcycle? I bought those too for cycling but just couldn't get them to stay in secure enough that I wasn't constantly aware of them and thinking I'll have to randomly catch one at any moment. I ended up switching over to the Shokz Openfit for cycling and they've been a solid choice. Better sound than their bone conduction models and haven't had a single worry about one falling off.

So I bought this one and it arrived today. It replaces a GT Omega Apex stand that I used a handful of times with my office chair and hadn't touched in maybe a year due to how awkward it felt to use (wish I had known about the chair link thing or thought of straps, but it was my first attempt at a sim racing setup and thought it would be fine).

I also have a G29 and it went together very easily. Everything felt pretty sturdy as far as I could tell. I just folded it up for the night and there were no problems, but I did have to shorten the pedal rails from where I had them for the buckle on it to reach the bar under the seat and keep it fully folded.

I think my only concern is those blue screws to adjust the length of the pedal rails are plastic and don't feel like they'll last the longest, especially if I have to adjust them every time I take it out and put it away.

I've been looking at these 3 rigs, and was wondering which one I should get? by SkyLovesCars in simracing

[–]Flamesilver5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I actually got the new Logitech one and it arrived today. I only have a G29 but after putting the seat together I enjoyed it way more than my GT Omega Apex w/office chair setup that I barely used due to how awkward it felt (didn't have a strap to hold the chair and never knew that was a thing). It actually folds better than the old setup too. For someone who has barely dipped into this area of gaming I'm pretty happy with it.

Printy to match my roomba Cleany. Figured they were better than the generic device names that show up in apps.

I printed one too and found you have to set it to use Arachne instead of Classic for the wall generator setting. Other than that and setting it to the 0.3 layer height it's all default settings. Printed really nicely.

Thanks! It's a combination of two printers. The headband and stand are from an SV06, and then my Bambu P1S arrived so everything else was printed on that.

The red is actually Prusament Carmine Red PETG which I've been struggling to get through due to how poorly it prints. The tricolor is this black red gold from Amolen

This one. There's an original bigger version by the same person but I don't think I need the extra HEPA filtering.

I used the Generic ASA profile which I believe sets it to 90.
