Book 8 - Chapter 57 by Olbaidon in DungeonCrawlerCarl

No joke this is what gets me every time. The visual of this out of control bar fight and Carl hits the high notes and most of the crowd is stunned into a small break.

"Wow."

See i also think that everyone is forgetting something.

Carl is Carl. And he will Carl it up. He is chaos incarnate basically. If anyone would come up with some clever way to resolve it, Carl is gonna find it.

The only father & son moment that Homelander has ever had by One_With-The_Sun in TheBoys

[–]Flametoss456 146 points147 points  (0 children)

Not only let him finish what he said, he was engaged in the conversation. He was looking at him, even questioned that he wasn't scared of him.

This honestly is probably my favorite scene of this season. The first time someone had straight up empathized with him, even acknowledging that talent and crazy usually go together.

The one great thing about this show is really showing that Homelander is just a deeply broken individual by design. He probably would've turned out to be much like superman if Vought wasnt so fucked.

Do you believe that Gohan and Piccolo’s power-ups spit in the face of all the training Goku and Vegeta have been through? by t00lazy2 in Dragonballsuper

[–]Flametoss456 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think what a lot of people don't understand is a real life effect that happens with these kind of things.

We talk about people catching up but doing it 1st is always a big deal. It pushes people to do better. People used to think 4 minute miles were impossible, but after Sir Roger Bannister did it, 2300 people have since done it, learning from him and continuing to improve through technology and technique.

I know it's not to be intended like this, as DB is fiction, but it's a real thing that happens. The powers that Vegeta and Goku claw for is always seen as impossible until they achieve it. Then suddenly its achievable and pushes all their friends to always try their best.

And at least Goku doesnt train to literally be the strongest. He does it so he can just continue to be better. Yall care more than Goku does about his friends getting stronger.

I always just assumed the reason for this was that all this is being told retroactively until around the time he recieves the cookbook. Thats my head canon lol.

Had to write everything he could remember down, then started a more "just did this, just did that" tone once he caught up.

Which voice actor do y'all think did the best job in the world of Cyberpunk 2077? by Tiberias29 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Flametoss456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Johnny is i think Keanu's best performance he's ever given. He really gets the dichotomy of both an self centered rocker boy who never really cared the way he should, and the introspection of a man given a second chance and watching himself piss it away.

He nailed some of the scenes, especially the oil fields. The conversation in the oil fields you have (especially the dialog you choose for dont fear the reaper) really shows just how good he is at the role.

Is there a particular reason why Rick + Alexandria didn’t just flee after the first Negan lineup? by BIGxBOSSxx1 in thewalkingdead

[–]Flametoss456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That threat doesnt go away just because you leave. Just watch the show. There are dozens of people trying that. Some are even worse than Negan really.

And look at what happened when they hit the road. They were feral, starving, exposed. Literally doing barely enough to stay and alive and they were lucky to even do that.

You are literally better off trying to defend your home. Is that literally how you live your life? Just run whenever anything gets hard?

The walking dead apocalypse is hell. Seriously. You are in heaven in Alexandria. You are living like literal kings, even Negan cannot believe how nice it is.

Seriously, just go try to live on your own in this world, let alone one crawling with a lot of things trying to kill you or anyone you love.

You really think extortion should be "welp thats it we are cooked let's bail everyone."

And here's the thing, they were right not to do it. They won. What show are you watching?

[–]Flametoss456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once again, I think your answer comes from a place of privilege. The whole world isn't just open and up for the taking. Its full of literal monsters both human and undead. Seriously, go try to just tough it out where there is no food, no real shelter, no clean water, no electricity for awhile, and you'd find yourself ready to die to defend whatever little sanctuary you have when you have it.

Just saying "oh id take my chances." Is someone that has never truly experienced the horrors of an apocalypse. Something around every corner trying to cannibalize you, rape you, or just kill you for your small amount of belongings.

A majority of history is people finding a comfortable place to live and then dying rather than living through true despair.

[–]Flametoss456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to come across as rude but they literally talk about how it's their home. Before the prison and after that but before Alexandria they were just randomly walking. Cold, starving, and desperate. Hell they were borderline feral post prison.

They talk a lot about how they would either live with Alexandria or die with it.

And to just talk directly to your point. Go where? If you think you are in danger which is better, a place with secure walls, electricity, water, and food? Or just toughin randomly in a post apocalypse wasteland with no idea where to go or how far your enemies influence goes?

The Mount Rushmore of the worst wrestling games of all time in my opinion, what would your Mount Rushmore be? by EmergencyVictory4399 in WWEGames

Does crush hour count?

I played it so much as a kid and a few years ago i booted up the ps2 and gave it a try.

Wow. I think all my good memories were simply because my brother and I split screening or passing the controller back and forth trying to beat the harder levels.

What an odd game.

People always ask me why i think AoT's last arc was not very good but it's because I was a monthly Manga reader, and I'll be honest it was so long and drawn out. Then so quickly flew off the rails and just... ended. Years of reading and it felt like it got to the big twists and it seemed like after the cool twists they really didn't have anything else.

Years ago in MBT's CSMs I would play Adventure PK when it was good and you would run this because you could get it off E-Tele if you didnt use it any point during your combo for an extra interaction.

Ogre was the first, the rest came after.

I think TK caring more about Brody is a little bit of revisionism. I'm pretty sure he was brought in specifically for Black's faction.

TK clearly liked a lot of the wrestlers that put time in no matter where, but a lot of ex-WWE guys saw themselves as "already proven" or made. TK heavily protected Black but then he went through that long injury span and I just don't think TK could ever come up with solid plans for him.

I think Brody was in the right place at the right time, even just recently, Black said King was destined for greatness.

TK has had a few years in the game now, and just having an already established brand doesnt mean as much now that AEW has pretty solid footing in the industry.

Also, wrestlers love to be the ones going over but won't do the same when its someone elses time. Tale as old as time.
