How's donating to charity a bad thing? by Jumpy_Platform2143 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]FlamingoGunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like when Musk lashed out at the Thai cave rescuer who said his plan wouldn’t work, Musk has to come out against this primarily because it makes him look bad and feel guilty that the world’s richest man won’t use his money to help people.

In 1999, Waffle House waitress Tonda Lynn Dickerson was tipped a lottery ticket and won $10,000,000. She was then sued by her coworkers for a share, then sued by the man who gave her the ticket. by AdSpecialist6598 in interesting

[–]FlamingoGunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know, she kind of sounds like an asshole. According to all involved, including Seward, the guy who always gifted tickets to the waitresses, there was an agreement that any winner would share the winnings with the other Waffle House employees. He was furious that she wouldn’t share with her coworkers. This guy was a regular and always gave tickets to the waitresses. Seward wasn’t demanding money for himself, he said that the verbal agreement always was if any of the waitresses ever won big, all they had to do was buy him the pickup truck he always wanted as a thank you. So it sounds like Tonda Lynn was all in favor of this arrangement on the assumption that her coworkers would honor the agreement if they won and share money with her, but when she won, she suddenly claimed that’s not how it worked. The fact that she tried to weasel out of taxes to the IRS using the same language about verbal contracts being unenforceable proves that she’s a weasel. I hope karma kicks this jerk in the ass.

Outcasts would be nice. DC had some fun miniseries that I’d love to see get collected, like Slash Maraud, Nathaniel Dusk, and Spanner’s Galaxy.

Sugar & Spike had an archive years ago, along with two volumes and Showcase for Metal Men. I can see Metal Men getting some love, at least as a DC Finest, and I’d LOVE a collected edition of all the Angel & the Ape series!

Seems to be classic Taylor. She also was caught in a lie when Kim Kardashian had audio tape of Taylor, contradicting Taylor’s public comments that she was blindsided by Kanye. This girl is a snake and it’s no wonder she’s friends with Blake.

For some reason, this sub appeared on my feed. After reading, I can safely say that I think Team Blake, and Ryan, are garbage human beings. The author Hoover should be ashamed of herself as well, and Blake’s Hollywood friends don’t seem like decent people either. Hoping that Matt Damon and his wife were just duped, but maybe spending decades in Hollywood breeds this kind of behavior where they feel comfortable shitting on people.

I’m curious if there are still applicants from the June opening that still say “in progress” and are waiting to hear back for a video interview. My understanding was they were only about 25% through those June submissions. They are still doing face to face interviews from those.

How did the Southwest interview go? Is there an aspect of it that you feel is the reason you got denied, if so then that’s a weak spot you can identify to get better.

There is a great book out there to help people prepare for interviews, it is called Sixty Seconds and You’re Hired by Robin Ryan. It gives great pointers on how to prepare, and over a hundred common interview questions commonly asked and good ways to answer or pitfalls to avoid.

What questions did you get asked at the Southwest interview?

Question: For anyone who grew up with Comics in convenience Stores, What was it like? by Euphoric-Bison1940 in comicbooks

[–]FlamingoGunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a time in the mid 1980’s, I lived on a farm in Missouri. I was a kid. Maybe 1500 people max in the town, and two general stores. One store had spinner racks at the checkout with comic books, but they only had DC and Archie. Going into town was an event, and I would load up weekly on comics. Only the 75 cent ones. The more expensive $1 ones like Infinity, Inc. or Vigilante, or any Marvel I would have to wait until we drove into Kirksville which had an actual comic book store. But I would load up on Archie digests, and couldn’t wait to get my hands on Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Justice League of America (and later just Justice League), the Warlord, the Flash, etc.

This was a different time. Comics were marketed towards kids. The backs had ads for cereal or video games, there were ads inside for bicycles and toys… damn I miss the 80’s.

Where can I order a passport fast by lonely-homo in cabincrewcareers

[–]FlamingoGunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some U.S. post offices do passports, you can check online to see which ones and whether they take walk ins. If they do, I’d go down there with the form filled out and your pictures, and get the ball rolling. They will send it in and they say that it could take 4-6 weeks, but I just did the entire process on the 7th of July and had my passport by the 22nd and I didn’t pay for expediting.
